- Weather Report was founded in 1970 by musicians who had met whilst playing with Miles Davis. This Montreux Festival show from 1976 follows on from the release of their album "Black Market" but features the line-up that would release their most famous and successful album "Heavy Weather" in 1977. Previously only available as a bootleg of a TV broadcast, this new DVD release is fully authorized and has been restored to its full length.

Who are the 23 closed minded non likers? These guys are off the charts incredible!!
Joe's ear was orbiting planet Earth before NASA.
Gives me chills to see Joe play and heart aches to realize he’s gone………
Was fortunate to have seen Weather Report three times. Once with Alphonso Johnson, twice with Jaco Pastorius. Always amazing...RIP Josef and Jaco.
Mark Roffe Mark you are a God.....amazing. You have been to Mount Olympus
Yup. Me too, I’ll never forget…
Ditto on experiencing them 3 times. 👏
Joe and Jaco were just learning each other’s thoughts at this time, very soon after Jaco joined the band. It was a happy time for Weather Report. I remember great feelings surrounding a show. Joe loved to throw the hell out of a frisbee to calm the nerves and we had some epic afternoon games. They were profoundly different personalities with little in common besides the music, but oh - what music. Very happy memories.
I am only getting into jazz fusion lately through UA-cam videos of Weather Report and Jaco videos. I never knew what I was missing!
The 70s look and sound so good. Glad I'm from 1970 and remember all this. Nice it's all here to see.
Always like the intense look in Alex Acuña his eyes. Like he's on a mountain top a million miles high. Probably is hihi
Like I always said, Weather Report is from another dimension. This proves it!!! Cheers!!! 👍 Rip Jaco 🎸and Josef 🎹
J'écoutais weather report quand j'étais ado, aujourd'hui j'ai 54 ans, Joe Zawinul, Wayne Shorter, Jaco Pastorius ne m'ont jamais quitté, c'est une musique indémodable 🎶
Oh,prelepo in basist je Jaco Pastorius, genialno!
Times of real music
Loved this composition and loved this entire album!
Bought it when it first came out, but on 8 - track.
Zawanul sooo forward thinking!!!
Dropping in prerecorded audio samples waaay before it was fashionable
Zawinul is in a league of his own !
Have l👀ked at them, they're THE koolest jazz group, Not of this Earth. Their SOUND is like MY taste in music, ECLECTIC..., from A to Z, you hear EVERY sound imaginable and unimaginable 😊😉😊
A band I did see live in 1983, so good. At the time we were not aware of Jaco's story.
Joe Zawanul is too much. I could visit the grave of him in Vienna in 2018. He was so talented.
DRUMS = Acuna, Alex. Drums ALEX ACUNA. ALEX ACUNA 🙏🏼 Alexxxxxx Acuna ~ Go Man Go! Your Light Is Lit 🙏🏼 PLAY....Play, Play On. Play On and On and On....
Blessed, Live Out Loud.... Live It Out... Blessed, Out Loud, Live, Play, Out Loud 🙏🏼
And like James Marshall Hendrix so eloquently said " Play on Drummer, play on "
✌🌐
Back in the day when enthusiasts attended concerts every other weekend. Unfortunately, we weren't allowed to film artists (unless you were really creative). A lot of great angles and perspectives lost forever.
Jaco PASTORIUS rip, Joe ZAWINUL rip e ora anche pochi giorni fa Wayne SHORTER rip !!!!!! WEATHER REPORT GRANDE band!!!!!!! Grande jazz Rock Grande musica!!!!!!!!!!!
Rumor has it when Zawinul got to Berklee his professor said I have nothing to teach you...Dayum
So much touch, tone, and taste ❤️
This song was my intro to Weather Report the minor 3rd on the bottom against the major in the pentatonic melody. So much voodoo here when not overplayed.
A connoisseur nice!
never heard of them.music style is very unusual.
Alex Acuna drums, Manolo Badrena Percussion
They are in such good mood... 😉

Grande Jaco pastorius

Joe is my favourite fusion keyboardist.
Definitely one of the giants.
My favorite keyboardist mustache
I met Joe at a gig of the Zawinul group in Danbury CT around 1990.

Have transcribed and arranged! ;-)
This venue was extra hot on the boys.
It looks miserable! They still sound fantastic, though.
Needed a mic on the wooden instrument Zawinul played. Kind of sort of heard it, far more prominent in studio version.
It’s a kalimba, Also known as a ‘thumb piano’. Yes, inaudible, unfortunately.
Manolo Badrena, Alex Acuna, Jaco Pastorius, Wayne Shorter and Joe Zawinul. Great musicians. The photographer did a terrible job. The best part of this theme is not filmed unfortunately
This was Alvin Seville's first song. He couldn't make the tour but offered a sample instead.
ASSALMU MASHA ALLAH
Joe and Jaco.
A fair bit slower than they played it later , listen to the 8.30 version
Joe zawinul looked like robert shaw.
The best part of this song is missing!?
That was a cruel cut at the end. :(
The editing guy don't like Jaco .....
So sad to notice 😢
Jjajjjqjauqjqjqajajajaja😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
This is my name why you say mein Name 😠😠
Pioneering chiptune music with the sample of the Quran.
Horrible cinematography
This is a disgrace to use distorted recitation of the Holy Quran on this recording ( 1mn 12 sec onwards),l don't understand the purpose of this disgusting act, what's creative in it ?
Sorry, how you define this abuse ?
Unclear and strange!
