I personally like the bags and rubbish is way better for loot now, it's probably a little unbalanced like they could have wallets or purses drop more often and rubbish have less
i like the braindead zombies alot more, was alot more realistic that a zombie just went straight towards you desytroying everything in its path, horde night was alot harder that way
I remember when the only way I could prepare for horde night was by chopping trees for about two days straight and putting fields of spikes around my house… then spending like 2 days after horde night chopping more trees and repairing everything… I don’t actually miss those days. I like the challenge of trying to outsmart the zombies’ AI. And the fact that I can build a functional horde base and then go out and explore and do missions and check out POI‘s and loot, and have fun.
"I like the challenge of trying to outsmart the zombies’ AI" What challenge? Zombies now are even easier because you can game the AI to take any path you like, whereas before they would just attack all around your base so you couldn't just funnel them into one area and kill them easily.
I'd rather call it devolution... because, imo almost everything is worst than before, except mabe for the new POI-s, and graphics. I started following the game since A9, played it since A11, i have more than 3000+ hours in it, and now, when it's "out" (not even, but you know what i mean), it is probably worst then ever... still unoptimized, still no complete story, as they promised back then, we fighting the developer team not the zombies, when we build our horde bases, or doing missions, or when we try to make our games enjoyable for ourselves. Horrible skill tree, even worst clothing/armor system, far too few weapons, stupid looting and now even worse trader mission rewards, unrewarding looting, even worst crafting, over-complicated food and dring system, unlogical and simply idiotic water "making" procedures, zombies are bullet sponges, and horde nights are just jokes (if you don't crank up the game difficulty, it is not even a horde night, just a couple of them scraping away your walls and defenses slowly, if you do crank up, it's just an unstoppable force) anyway; if you just use the deafult settings, the "intended gameplay" is just bad. Developers never listen to ideas, even if you try to appeal to them, like forming your ideas to their design, to not change the things they (probably) want to do, but honestly; the game changed soo much, they probably already forget at least 3 times whatever they wanted to do with this game in the beginning. Still one of the best out there (and this is just sad), awesome potential wasted over and over again.
But even the new poi's are simply dungeon crawls skinned as "houses to scavenge" Like seriously what is wrong with the devs they gave us an open world zombie survival sand-box game then completely changed the genre to RPG zombie survival game.
@@sahilrahman5066 Totally agree with you! I just desperately try to find good things in this game, because i followed it for soo long, and i still see the potential in it... but my hope is reeeealy fragile nowadays....
@@ronin1837 Ah, yeah I can understand. Spending almost an decade with something and being able to only watch it slowly crumble and become something completely unrecognizable. I have only kept up with 7days to die for 6-4 years so not as emotional invested in it, but still not fun to see what it has become.
Great video. I bought the game for console in 2016. I loved it so much. Just rebought it for the PS5 after years and years of waiting and I would buy it again another 3 times. It's such a fun playable game, especially when played with others!
I actually really like the PS4 version that we have now, unfortunately for those who didn't buy the PS4 version before it got delisted you can't buy anymore, but the horror atmosphere in that version and the slow feeling combat with a damn near perfect exploration Loop just felt right to me. It felt different enough from a lot of other survival games because of the horror aesthetic and the build anywhere was so fun to play around with. I know a lot of people hate fun pimps now for abandoning that version and quitting support for the PS4 and the original Xbox One- but the only thing I do feel bad about it's a loss of that horror atmosphere. I don't have a PS5 so I decided to go back to the PS4 version and see if it was as bad as everyone says and I disagree it is a fantastic time even if it is pretty much a solo experience now. I wish they didn't take it off the PlayStation store but I think I know why since they have a PS5 version and probably don't want people getting confused with which version they bought. But 7 Days to Die isn't the best survival game but it does respect your time and that original atmosphere and sense of exploration is unmatched.
There are 2 games when this was released, Rust and 7D2D, both has the same gameplay mechanics but different in terms of enemy fighting since 7D2D is a mainly PVE with an option of PVP. Rust is a PVP only server with zombies.
Great video, awesome editing, love the concise, and to the point voiceover. Really interesting to see how this game has changed over the years. I first started playing it towards the end of alpha 16 I think because I remember the excitement when the 4 x 4 and gyrocopter and motorcycle were added to the game. I didn’t remember the bicycle being in the game in 16, was it taken out for a while? Or was I just dumb and didn’t see it? That’s also very possible. 😂 The only vehicle I remember before the big vehicle update was the minibike. It is amazing how far the game has come though. I’m really enjoying the full release 1.0, and figuring out the building system.
Great vid! I really miss the game before they mainstreamed it. Honesty, much of the game feels pointless to me now. You level so quickly and get the best gear so quickly, without trying to grind, that I don’t feel the need to keep looting or gathering resources. I can run around solo now and feel safer than I did while in groups back in the day. lol
I think I bought the game on alpha 12, just before it got updated to 13. 15 was my favorite for a long time though. When I found out that it was the version on consoles, back in alpha 19, I rushed to buy it on my Xbox, just to enjoy alpha 15 again.
I first bought the game on Steam in November of 2020, so I would've started out playing Alpha 19.2. In November of this year, I'll have officially been playing this game for 4 years. I currently have a little over 1300 hours. I gotta say, though, although there have been plenty of changes since Alpha 19.2 to now, I'm glad I played it at a time when it was still recognizable as largely the same game today. That early stuff looks awful, no offense to anyone who enjoyed it.
I feel they removed so much stuff from the game, like I love the current 7dtd but I felt like it used to be more of a challenge and that zombies destroyed far more stuff .
It's funny. You can kind of say the graphics have improved but also that they haven't. I guess technically they're better, but I don't think the game is any easier on the eyes than it used to be
I still play PS4 version somewhat regularly when I just want to lay on the couch and do simple zombie slaying instead of hunching in a computer chair. It's still fun. 😊
