Credit where credit is due, if they made it better, they should get a praise, but i agree this is barely acceptable. The game isn't nearly as beautiful as demanding. (and i want acceptable performance more than beauty, so focus on that first)
The bad FPS is due to CPU strain, not entirely GPU strain. You can reduce various settings to help speed things up on hoard night, but it's still going to drain depending on the amount of zombies, path-finding and interactions with the environment zombies are going to have.
They were going to merge it with the wasteland. It _WAS_ a good idea really... but they did it all wrong. All they did was steal a few assets and put them in the stock-standard wasteland. I think Ideally wasteland should be "burnt forest" everywhere which is rural or sub-urban. And inside cities it could be the familiar form of wasteland (where it would make sense to have the rubble and such). That would also make the gyrocopter and 4x4 actually useful in the wasteland (outside of cities anyway). I'm glad it's back too though. It has a very eerie aesthetic. But I'm a little disappointed that they never merged it with wasteland in a sensible way.
Glad to have burnt forest back. Tbh I never gave it the respect it deserved when we had it but when I got to play New York undead map it really showed just how amazing the burnt forest was for the ambience. I missed the badlands aswell but I suppose that one is gone to never return
@@kathrynck Imho Navezgane gives straight away their original intention, where they placed the burnt forest between the wasteland (and it's ruined city) and the Pine Forest. They probably tried to implement, that the game would auto-generate a wasteland city, as in it was hit by a nuke and around it burnt forest, as the heat wave from the nuke would've incinerated the forested area around a city. But they never managed to do it, so they left the burnt forest in as a legacy biome basically, then they tried to get rid of it with A21 by "merging" it, saw that they did bullcrap and then put it back in with 1.0. TFP are just some of the worst devs out there, period. 7 Days to Die is just as succesful because it is an early pioneer title, mixing Minecraft with Zombie Survival and boom, that is essentialy how you got it, profiting from the Minecraft hype. Many people bought it back then and that is how they have so many players right now, because sunken cost. People bought it, so they might as well play it. If 7DTD would be freshly released todays as it is right now, no one would've bought it yet, it would utterly fail.
I bought this game (according to my steam purchase history) back on January 1st 2014. I have over 631 hours played. I remember when it was basically a voxel minecraft reskin. Now a little over 10 years later it is finally coming out of early access. It has come a long way since then with many changes. I do remember when you had the minimap with the enemy marker dots on it. "what is that?" notice a wandering hoard outside the base on the map. quickly shut everything down and quietly watch as the dots came, walked around, and left. I loved those days. Anyhow I look forward to the update and full release out of early access.
that was always so fun, and then you could just craft your items to level it up instead of finding 1000 magazines and hoping its what you need, I got to day 20 and could still not make eggs and bacon XD not long ago it was almost unplayable solo because of how you had to spec your skills
Gotta hand it to the team, I haven't agreed with some of the decisions they've made in certain updates (like the nuking of the wellness and level by doing systems), but they've stuck by this game and never stopped believing in it. In a sea of unfinished and abandoned early access games, it's very refreshing to see one make it to 1.0 and I'm very pleased it was this one.
Hey Folks! Let me know what you are most excited about or what you would do different in the comments! If you want to see first hand gameplay. Join me tomorrow for streamer weekend (ua-cam.com/users/liveqo20bl3kWss) I'll be streaming this weekend for streamer weekend on UA-cam and Twitch! Also, for the console players out there ... 7 Days to Die Console Edition is planned to have everything I talked about with the exception of random world gen. That is slated for a future release! Also for everyone, here are the release dates: • Experimental Beta: June 24 2024 • Stable PC Release: July 25 2024 • Console Release: July 25 2024
Noice, be sure the show the FPS especially in the wasteland/cities which is something TFP are afraid to do! Edit: Was about what I expected, but at least there is some improvement.
Thank you for the overview of the update. There are three things that raises concerns for me; the reduction of group progression, the armor bonuses, and the performance. Elephant in the room, based on your specs and never seeing above 50fps on a 4090 is just....shockingly bad. Armor, I am going to test it but having MMO style magical stats show up on armor sets just does not feel like the survival game I bought into. Lastly the fact if you work as a group, but only the quest 'owner' gets tier progression feels like a bad direction for group play.
just cause youre packing a 4090 doesnt mean your rigs instantly top line. cpu memory cooling ssd size speed age plays a role. but youre right i'll wager, this game needs optimization
You are correct, there are other factors than video cards for FPS, more so in most games that do not correctly utilize GPUs. However if many folks can run say Cyberpunk 2077, a game that much more hardware demanding at 90-120 FPS on our rigs, but can't sustain 50 FPS in 7d2d.... it is not a hardware/bottleneck issue. :) Also I am not attacking your reply, just adding some clarity.
@@StuartKerr-vp4ph This game isn't exactly big enough to be CPU or memory heavy though, It's more balanced than anything else, which is why this is still ridiculous. Also, if you're using a 4090 with 16 gigs and a 11 series or under CPU, then you do not understand how much you're bottlenecking yourself.
The most horrible thought crossed my mind when you mentioned the "reduction" of group progression: the lack of it in Fallout 76. Groups can't complete quests together in that game because BGS couldn't figure out in time and under budget how to write one without having it instanced to each, individual player. The Creation engine obviously wasn't designed for multiplayer games and they've been struggling to make it accommodate MP from the get-go. So, if -- and it is just an inkling -- TFP borrowed that "idea" from 76 to "slow progress" -- forcing each, individual player in a group to re-do quests individually only a "team leader" gets credit for until everyone in the group receives credit for it -- they actually adopted a glaring issue plaguing another game. Groups could complete quests together before this update and get credit for them, could they not?
Your showcase video has inspired hope in me for the 1.0 release! I've long enjoyed the game and figured The Fun Pimps were "cooking something" worthwhile. More expansive vehicle modding, a totally revamped armor system, and better models all around all look enticing.
Kudos for these guys for working on it non stop for 10 years and after it left telltales and never abandoning the game, it may be late now but there is sill plenty of people playing today
@@WaywardEko I'll explain in three short ways their actual largest issues aside the usual "architecture bad too complicated/immature" insanity am biased towards. They don't object pool, they don't paralell for anything with the job system like they should be, and they don't utilize a proper custom pathfinding backend to help reduce physics casting and all the other insanity their paid for version does. They have an attitude problem that's the true issue though, to fix these kinds of things takes a different mindset than usual indies have. They need to want to self improve. I think with some training assuming they were actually open to it, if they were open to actual wisdom sharing even, they could totally turn it around in a couple years. But this has been a long drawn out thing am least personally not optimistic, but hey if they manage to change absolutely kudo on them.
@@duncanshania Agreed, TFP are one of the worst dev teams out there. 7 Days is just as succesful as it is because it was one of the first titles of this kind being thrown into the gaming world, mixing the Minecraft Hype with Undead Survival and, in relation to minecraft, better graphics. Imagine what would happen if 7DTD wouldn't have existed as an Early Access, they would've developed it to what it is now in private and would release it now as 1.0. on Steam... the game would hugely flop compared to the competition, get torn apart in reviews and just utterly fail. But most players bought it back then, have pulled in friends to play with them over the years, so the costs are already sunk, so the players might as well play it. That is how they get their playerbase. Ffs, they didn't even integrate Steam Workshop Support!
one the most solid updates iv seen for a game, well done fun pimps also you can drink from bodies of water so use a bucket and bring some to base, but you still need to collect water for crafting.
@@allexio yeah I probably will, I used that mod last time I played. It is a good mod I just don’t like being forced to use one for a basic game mechanic. People have lives outside of their mods for games and a game being beholden to one because of a questionable game design choice irks me. Bannerlord and X4 have this problem as well where there are QOL mods that should be base game and when they are out of date those games are practically unplayable. A critical game mechanic like this shouldn’t be RNG. That’s bad enough on its own but in an open world where I can go 500 miles in the wrong direction to “learn” a vital thing to play the game is so much worse. If they counter this by making them easy to find then they dilute the loot pool making the core mechanic less rewarding once you know the skills. It also doesn’t feel organic and rewarding to “find knowledge” one of the great things about zomboid and kenshi is making your worthless sack of meat into a powerhouse from your choices and actions. Learn by looting makes this a “I got lucky this play through” instead of “I succeeded in doing it this time”. That experience is much more powerful in a zombie survival game and part of the appeal. It might not be as bad as I’m making it out to be I’ll have to try it before I likely mod it. But you’re right that option does exist and is a great alternative.
since Day 1 I was like this is a fun game, even when it was a bit off kilter here and there with the added updates. Thank you so much for keeping it going and never stop digging away at it all
I still think it’s going to be obnoxious having to change outfits every time you switch tasks. I get you can afford to specialize in multiplayer, but you have to do it all in solo.
@@TheLegend-hq4zg who in their right mind is going to harvest with the handicap of not getting maximum returns? well i can think of 1 australian, but we don't talk about him
@@zachpacos1 I know. But all those easy recipes, like the boiled egg, are early game recipes. Which you can´t use because you cannot craft hundreds of jars at that stage of the game. When you can craft them, you have enough meat, which is better. And even later, you just cook the best food. - All this makes most recipes useless.
Wow. Bought this game all the way back in Christmas of 2013 lol I remember playing it back then and still being so satisfied with it since there really wasnt much like it at the time. Happy to see it finally come full circle with this giant update. I'll definitely be popping back on this soon.
9:52 - I would make one major change: Legendary Parts should be split into parts. - Wood Leg Part - Stone leg part - Iron Leg part - etc... This means you can find wood, stone and maybe iron leg parts in tier 1 and 2 POIs, on rare occasion. This new system makes stone, iron, and low-tier armor crafting for lvl 6 completely obsolete.
Ok I hate you for even thinking that, already you gotta fine iron sledge parts after finding 25 sledge magazines, now youd have to find 25 sledge mags, 1 iron sledge part (or however many they need now) and a legendary iron sledge part if they did this to everything and not just clothing. i legit spent 20 game days and didnt even have enough cooking mags to make eggs and bacon because there's so many different pieces of loot and magazines you can get, it is overkill
@@FatalError-404 it's realistic. I don't mean item leg parts. That WOULD be overkill. I mean split up the leg parts to not require you to go to a tier 6 POI to be able to upgrade stone ax to lvl6. That makes absolutely zero sense to do, as by the time you do that, chances are you have steel ax or even chainsaw at that point.
I realize you are using Leg as short for Leg-endary, but for some reason i keep seeing Leg like "never skip Leg day" which when you pair Leg with Parts it makes my mind see "Pants" so i'm imagining Stone Legged Pants.. thanks for that
I hate when games force me to wear gear that makes it more beneficial to do certain tasks. I spend too much of my time switching and managing my inventory (the most boring aspects of the game) every time I wanna do something. As oppose to a learnt skill that's always active once I've meet the requirements. If you spend a lot of time harvesting wood wouldn't you learn over time how to make better use of the tools thus optimizing your resources which not only makes sense but allows you to focus on the tasks at hand and enjoying the game. Rather then I wanna do something but I'm not sure if I'm wearing my correct outfit. At best having the outfits with bonuses for your fighting style would be fine but for harvesting and the like it's a nuisance.
They came by the magical streak naturally: modding Bethesda games. :) There was never any concrete separation between the Elder Scrolls and Fallout franchises at Bethesda, which liberally reuses code from one franchise's game when developing a new one for another. (There's even a reference to the Pip-Boy light in Skryim's code indicating what you see onscreen as a Skryim torch.) Ergo, armor and weapon "enchantments" and "legendaries" in Bethesda's Fallouts, which have in turn inspired the armor enchantments we're now seeing in 7 Days to Die. I'd prefer a postapolayptic world be more realistically postapocalyptic myself, but...Bethesda. :)
To be fair, if I'm going to chop wood I'm going to wear a different outfit than if I was going to try to sneak around a zombie-infested facility or do gardening or go on a road trip or w/e. So, it's not completely unrealistic, but it's still annoying.
Well, you can complain about a lot of things, but about a realistic approach to clothing, you don't go to Mount Everest in Bermuda shorts either, so please, yes this example is exaggerated. But nevertheless, clothing has its purpose & that's a good thing, if it's too complex for you then just play something else. Always this crying about games these days, oh I don't like this, oh I don't like that wäh wäh wäh 🤨
No one is FORCING you ... that is a personal choice to min max. I had early access and have around 100 hours in on 1.0 and only on a handful of times have I switched outfits for a bonus and I'm thriving on Survivalist w/ 64 zeds. Lots of people speaking hyperbolic. In regards to magical armor giving bonuses ... those have been part of the game. How about cigars that make you stronger ... or help you barter ... this stuff has always been there.
That's why i love darkness falls (and how it was way way back in alpha 14 or 15?) where if you mine, you upgrade your mining skills. If you use shotguns, you upgrade your shotgun skill. I have no clue why they won't use this, but instead introduced annoying magazines that forces you to loot (or buy them). Not to mention it's easily cheesable by going through a big city and only looting mailboxes and buildings that got bookshelves.
@@WaywardEko Are you using the Boot.config edit that adds multi threading ability to Unity Engine that is not setup normally? I figured for this review you was unable to do that, but in A21 i figured you'd being using the added lines for boot.config. I noticed a pretty good performance increase across the board from that simple edit of the file. Really Curious. If you haven't I'd love to see you're results with adding it into the boot.config file found in 7d2d_data folder in the base game directory.Just add the following lines there to get the effect, doesn't affect any save data, just how the game handles mulit-threading. gfx-enable-gfx-jobs=1 gfx-enable-native-gfx-jobs=1 wait-for-native-debugger=0 scripting-runtime-version=latest vr-enabled=0 hdr-display-enabled=0 gc-max-time-slice=3
Optimization needs more work, they made it beautiful and there is some increase in performance but not enough especially since this guy has a 4090 and getting 30-40 on the big building while dropping from 30 to somewhere near 15 on max horde is nuts.
Remember that he is playing at 4k as well, which can bump down FPS quite a lot. Still, he should be hitting around 60-70 at least on a horde night for this to be enjoyable. I hope they are looking into FSR 3.0 or NVIDIA DLSS for those extra frames.
I really like a lot of changes that were done, the game’s been ironed out a lot more and I’m happy we’ve all come this far. However, in my opinion I’m not a fan of the new armour system. I liked being able to mix and match clothes, but now it feels limited to set outfits not to mentioned you’re gonna have to change your clothes all the time to do certain things.
ive waited over 6 years for this. started playing in alpha 14 and got put in nearly almost 2000 hours on console and pc combined. With every update, this game gets closer to what ive wished it was. I can't lie, I've been playing just about every Alpha update since 7Days first released and I'm quite impressed. This is like getting multiple Alpha updates all at once! Christmas came early! Despite its jankiness, there's really nothing else like 7Days and I love it for the perfectly shaped slot that it fills in my gaming library. It's encouraging to see them targeting so many things I've had complaints with for a long time now like the character models and gear progression.
Great video! I'm not thrilled with one-piece outfits. I want to go shirtless. The new models and skins are awesome, looks great. I'm gonna miss that old yellow cruiser bike. Best POI builders in the biz.
I feel like the dew collector gettin murky water is kinda a positive too. Like you need it for glue, and normally you cant really get too much murky. I at least am always low on duct tape.
@@Azeliniana the cloth costs of things is a bit obnoxious in A21 though. First 2-3 weeks is hording cloth like crazy to have enough. and then it becomes a non-issue after that. But water/glue/duct tape is a bit of a grind too, yeah. I use a mod which takes the heatmap generation away from dew collectors, that helps game balance substantially.
NOT GONA LIE THE CHAR ANIMATIONS ARE SOOOOO CLEANNN. THIS IS ALL I HAVE WANTED FROM THE GAME AND ITS HERE. I CAN LOOK AT THE FLOOR WITH FLASH LIGHT WOOOOHOOOOOOO 😂😂
Very funny you say that because I just recently got the PS5 version of 7DTD and I’ve played the game across most platforms *PS4, PC and PS5* and I feel like the animations still need a bit of work especially after watching my friend climb a ladder. Other than that, game is fire.
TFPs have always said Bandits was something they wanted to add but they never gave a timetable for it happening. Bandits are now on the Roadmap that they released. If they don’t add them Q2 2025, I think then it would be fair to complain about the Bandits not making it to game. * But I must add that there is always that warning that this is an estimate and the timeline is subject to change.
Not sure the performance "gains" are worth mentioning. You have a rig much better than most (55%+GPU & 87%+CPU) people on the STEAM charts and more if you were to also consider consoles. You have a top end machine and that's before consider your ddr5 and ssd speeds. Before we anyone says to give credit where credit is due put into perspective you demanded a raise for work and so your boss said sure and you went from $20.00/hr to $20.01/hr but hey you got your raise....😅 Other than that thanks for the video
I believe this is also with basic settings, without mods, for any files. Simple fps fix with boot.config file change will normally net a pretty good increase in fps, which he was probably not able to run with this due to constraints in place for testing or review purposes. Now once you have the files themselves, I highly suggest edit of boot.config to add in the info to turn on multi-threading in Unity engine there. It boosts fps due to sharing workload of the GPU to the CPU cores which isn't defaulted on in Unity without being called for in the boot.config. The boot.config file is located in the 7d2d_data folder or was. Assuming it's still in same general location. Also, assuming that Unity 2022 engine will allow even more performance gains though multi-threading, as it is a much more updated engine that previously used in 7d2d with the older unity engine. The lines to add in said file are as follows: gfx-enable-gfx-jobs=1 gfx-enable-native-gfx-jobs=1 wait-for-native-debugger=0 scripting-runtime-version=latest vr-enabled=0 hdr-display-enabled=0 gc-max-time-slice=3 Just edit the boot.config file in notepad and copy and paste these lines into it, then save. Once you run the game again, you should notice a performance increase. However, longer play cycles will still cause slowdowns to happen over time of play. If you play for 2-3 hours straight, it may start chunking along and stuttering. This I'm told is due to Unity's poor data resource cleanup calls. I'm not sure even modding could fix this. With pretty heavy settings, my system manages to run current A21 at around 110-120fps in the wilderness and 70-90fps in cities. I do not have a monster system either. AMD 5600x CPU, AMD 6600xt GPU, 32gb ram. on decent SSD's. that's running the game in 1440p on a dual monitor setup. I don't turn down the in-game graphics to much either to allow for better visuals while still offering smooth gameplay.
I mentioned it mostly because it's in the patch notes and comparatively and subjectively ... it felt better in some situations. The more I've played the less it feels like much of an improvement though.
they gave Trader Rekt more nasty dialogue to say? btw, thanks soooo much for all the info. what a great presentation! i can't imagine how many hours you've spent to do this. thanks so much!
Honestly, given how irritating several of the traders are (voice acting wise), I wish it were an option to outright kill them and then be able to loot 100% of their store (including any hidden rooms and vending machines etc.). And I'm not usually the type of player to do this. But it'd be a way to get faster starting gear but nerf how easy the future of the game would be (since you'd no longer be able to trade with them ever again), and there could be an Option as to whether the other traders learn about this / get more security or whatever. It should be a deliberate thing, though. Not something where you accidentally happened to shoot them -- that's gonna happen, if allowed -- but where you'd have to deliberately get back there and finish them off, and had the option to patch them up instead.
Annoyed AF that so many fanboys refuse to admit this "1.0" is not a real 1.0. It's just a half finished game that they are shoving out the door for what could be several reasons. Seeing as I already own it I will give it a go and see how good or bad it is. If it's bad I will just walk away and play something else.
Are bandits even in the game yet? To me it's crazy with how many features were promised nearly some decade ago that haven't seen light. All features promised to be in the game's official release. I'm going to be honest, I don't believe for a moment this is because they believe this is worthy of a 1.0. It's because they're probably in financial trouble again and a 1.0 release will temporarily give them some cash flow from console players. This is the same reason they released for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 back in the day. Look how that ended up.
@@skyworld5619 Yeh but people are losing their minds over NPC's not being included in 1.0 but they produced a roaadmap that gave a date they were aiming to get them out .. which is in 2025 people just need to have some patience
To be clear on the trader tiers; while it does force you to go to the next biome for the trade route mission, that previous trader will still have the next tier of missions (rekt will force you to go talk to jen to get to T2 but rekt will have t2 missions same as jen). This is big because this won't entirely force you to move your base every time you tier up or move away from friends who are still working on lower tiers. You can also find legendary parts for that T6 crafting surprisingly early on (on a standard loot server I found one in a treehouse on at most a tier 2 lot in the pine forest with only the helmet mod that gives +loot so my loot stage was still pretty low).
Holy Frijoles! The new character customization is amazeballs!! I like a LOT of the new changes and am excited to dive in! Though I still miss Trader Hugh's frontier fort-style outpost.

How do I disable that white circle that shows up in the toolbelt? It's like 2 arrows that form a circle. I suppose it means last used weapon / tool. What do I do to turn it off? ( You can see it on the bone knife @ 4:30 You can also see it on the primitive bow @ 5:15 )
14:40 the flavor text description of the +1Stat helmet mods say they are "AI enabled contact lenses" which explains why they would be mutually exclusive with anything that covers your eyes (treasure hunting/NVGs) but cigars go in the mouth so of course you can have contact lenses and mouth candy at the same time.
most important outfits: lumberjack & miner & farmer & scavenger, hands down *everyone will have at least these 4 if they play solo* + 1 or more standard outfits, whether its a combat perk set, a vehicle fuel economy set, and/or a trader bartering set. We'll rename the game to 7 Dresses to Dye.

21:01 fps and the stuttering of the zombies on-screen is one thing, but only you can really comment on the stuttering of player control. How did that feel? In A21 I turned shadows distance off which helped somewhat with stutter near built up areas.
Oh good lord. Thank you for this in-depth look at 1.0. I think I will enjoy exploring the changes even more than with the earlier alphas. I will state the clothing/armour changes don't seem to be as bad as it could have been.
They should add monster-specific loot, and loot-types, randomly-generated ofc, for example Soldier and Demolisher would be the best chance of getting grenades; rockets; explosive-ammo etc. and some very rare chance of getting rocket-launcher; M60 etc.
R.I.P. alpha. There were times that I loved you and times that I hated you, (clipping me and my full mini bike though the ground.) But lots of memories were made. I can't wait to begin the new ones in 1.0.

Thanks for the summary, I cant wait to play. Although the absolute worst news was v1.0 seeing a 4090 hitting under 60FPS. Granted its 4K, but still. That wont stop me from playing, but with 1.0 I had much much higher hopes, especially since it was going for console release I though we would see much better optimizations. I mean I should have know better with 7Days alpha update track record.
Oddly, to me at least, what I'm most excited for is the remnant buildings. I loved the dungeon style POIs when they were introduced but that's all we get now. While the one the large office building at the beginning of Dev Stream 3 is nice, I hope we get some POI homes to explore that aren't pathed out and are more of the pre-alpha 17 variety.
30 fps on average with a 4090 is beyond insane. Optimization is a MAJOR issue right now

Agreed! They just essentially lumped it in with the wasteland, and I never liked that.
Glad to have burnt forest back. Tbh I never gave it the respect it deserved when we had it but when I got to play New York undead map it really showed just how amazing the burnt forest was for the ambience. I missed the badlands aswell but I suppose that one is gone to never return
It's really nice just to give another biome on the map and mix things up!
TFP's finally did it. The game has kept fans for 10 years and now the baby is grown up. Looks better than I expected and looking forward to more.

That chair is the only reason why I want to craft a minibike from 1.0 onwards.
hahahaha.
We used a minimap mod on my community server last season and it was amazing. Would love to see one as part of the game.
I’m playing this game on ps5 and wow I love it! It was kinda worth the wait

• Experimental Beta: June 24 2024
• Stable PC Release: July 25 2024
• Console Release: July 25 2024

A great review of whats coming up. Thanks for the info Eko!
Thanks so much Sir!
Only bandits are missing.
Quite welcome. I 'm with you on the group progression concern. I hope it is mitigated by the universal levelling but will have to see.
just cause youre packing a 4090 doesnt mean your rigs instantly top line. cpu memory cooling ssd size speed age plays a role. but youre right i'll wager, this game needs optimization
Woot! Enjoy!

You can get legendary parts from lower end stuff too. I got 2 from some random chest in a tier 2.
Yeah - I need to put a note in -- they adjusted after to allow them to drop anything after gamestage 15 in rare situations.
storage box changes are amazing
Kudos for these guys for working on it non stop for 10 years and after it left telltales and never abandoning the game, it may be late now but there is sill plenty of people playing today
i love how to "optimize" they just lower the amount of detail of some poi's instead of actual optimization 15-30 fps on a 4090 is crazy...
Fairly logical move - space out the high performance hog assets. Dishing and Higashi next door was always a poor design choice.
Ffs, they didn't even integrate Steam Workshop Support!
one the most solid updates iv seen for a game, well done fun pimps
also you can drink from bodies of water so use a bucket and bring some to base, but you still need to collect water for crafting.
I’m not a fan of the removal of learn by doing but I’ll concede that the rest looks good enough to make me want to try it.
/agree
You can play undead legacy if you want learn by doing back. Pretty cool mod.

As long as the player throws away the glass jar after using water to boil an egg, I consider this game unfinished.
It's funny as hell but glass jars are easily craftable once you have a forge
@@zachpacos1 I know. But all those easy recipes, like the boiled egg, are early game recipes. Which you can´t use because you cannot craft hundreds of jars at that stage of the game. When you can craft them, you have enough meat, which is better. And even later, you just cook the best food. - All this makes most recipes useless.
there are no glass jars now.

9:52 -
I would make one major change:
Legendary Parts should be split into parts.
- Wood Leg Part
- Stone leg part
- Iron Leg part
- etc...
I realize you are using Leg as short for Leg-endary, but for some reason i keep seeing Leg like "never skip Leg day" which when you pair Leg with Parts it makes my mind see "Pants" so i'm imagining Stone Legged Pants.. thanks for that
/agree
I can not wait to play it! thank you for creating this video!

Started a 1.0 play through and as soon as I saw the new bridge POI I KNEW I was making a crafting base on one and it came out pretty cool
Awesome!
You... got 40 FPS inside a building with a 4090... ... ... deam :L

Yeah ... I'd be thrilled to consistently stay above 40 on horde nights and in downtown areas.
Over a month in I only change out my armor from time to time for specialized tasks. I think once we get wardrobes we won't really notice as much.

Not sure the performance "gains" are worth mentioning. You have a rig much better than most (55%+GPU & 87%+CPU) people on the STEAM charts and more if you were to also consider consoles. You have a top end machine and that's before consider your ddr5 and ssd speeds.
Before we anyone says to give credit where credit is due put into perspective you demanded a raise for work and so your boss said sure and you went from $20.00/hr to $20.01/hr but hey you got your raise....😅
Other than that thanks for the video
The lines to add in said file are as follows:
gfx-enable-gfx-jobs=1
gfx-enable-native-gfx-jobs=1
wait-for-native-debugger=0
scripting-runtime-version=latest
vr-enabled=0
hdr-display-enabled=0
gc-max-time-slice=3
Just edit the boot.config file in notepad and copy and paste these lines into it, then save.
Oh my god..... Youre one of those..... You called it a rig..... Christ..... Thats like having a porn stache and mullet today......
they gave Trader Rekt more nasty dialogue to say?
btw, thanks soooo much for all the info. what a great presentation! i can't imagine how many hours you've spent to do this. thanks so much!
Actually Hugh might be worse now .... Thanks so much!! 80 hrs of recording and editing went into this.
Great breakdown, so pumped for this. Been awhile since I've been looking forward to a game as much as this.
Thanks kindly!
Trader dialogue should fit the situation example it’s the morning the trader would say lovely day to kill some zombies 😊
I talked about how they are wiring that up -- they will also respond to weather and other actions.
I'm really hoping the new trader dialogue considers that not ALL players are male this time!
I was NOT expexting 7dtd tp just get a huge update. Been playing on ps5 and its the best zombie survival game out there.
Meh ... it's a name and one required for them to release to console. I don't care what the name is ... just the features.
The actual 1.0 is releasing at the end of 2025 providing they don't delay the roadmap they showed
It's really suspicious lol
Tbf, this is only a beta build of the 1.0 update. So, in theory, a lot will change by July 25th
@@Pooples123 Then they shouldn't have hyped it up as a 1.0 update.
This game has been my Minecraft for years. I always come back to it, and I am excited to see it full-game style!
Completely get that!
No npcs as promised in their kickstarter? Its a shame companies are getting the shit sued out of them for ignoring kick starter promises
Lolol
mayyybe we should look at the roadmap, pretty sure NPC's were labelled at 2025
@@elfthecredited7602 NPC were promised years ago tbh XD. i believe in 2025 same as that this game will be optimalized one day
@@skyworld5619 Yeh but people are losing their minds over NPC's not being included in 1.0 but they produced a roaadmap that gave a date they were aiming to get them out .. which is in 2025
people just need to have some patience
On the roadmap.
Thank you guys for this awesome update !!! Great work as always ! :3
Thanks so much!
The mountain lion now looks like a lynx.😂
True
Yup they corrected legendary parts ... have to be above gamestage 15
Holy Frijoles! The new character customization is amazeballs!! I like a LOT of the new changes and am excited to dive in! Though I still miss Trader Hugh's frontier fort-style outpost.
Massive shift for sure! I hope we get more options over time, but it's a great step up. Making thumbnails is much more fun for me now!
Thanks!
Thank you so much!!
Thank you so much for this amazing video! I've been avoiding news on 1.0 but with the release so close... I caved when this video was suggested by MoonLunaPlays. SO EXCITED!!!! Role on Monday! Thank you so much again for the fab video 🤩
Awww thanks! Luna is the bestest!!
Ahhhh the time has come! I am soooo excited! Thank you fun pimps and thanks Eko!
Definitely looking forward to coming back to 7D2D. Thank you for the great overview. Always enjoyed your videos.
Quite welcome and enjoy!!
How do I disable that white circle that shows up in the toolbelt? It's like 2 arrows that form a circle. I suppose it means last used weapon / tool. What do I do to turn it off?
( You can see it on the bone knife @ 4:30
You can also see it on the primitive bow @ 5:15 )
I don't think you can turn it off. It's a quick switch feature that will likely be mostly for console players.
@@WaywardEko Ok, cool. Do you know if there's a quick switch button on the keyboard to use this feature? I couldn't find it in the options menu
Looks like default is mouse button 4 but you can remap it.
Yeah but we all know that they don't always follow logic :)
I've been a fan of thus game Since it first released on Xbox one. When they lost console rights I bought me a gaming PC just so I could play the updates. This game has come along way and I'm super Stoked about this Summers update. It looks amazing!!! Congratulations and thank you to all of the Devs !!! I'm a loyal fan of the franchise. Thanks Funpimps for not abandoning the game and thank you for listening to the community. 🎉
21:01 fps and the stuttering of the zombies on-screen is one thing, but only you can really comment on the stuttering of player control. How did that feel? In A21 I turned shadows distance off which helped somewhat with stutter near built up areas.
Feels ok overall. I'm finding that doing a full PC reset after really long sessions helps.
Congrats on being on the steam news page.
Oh good lord. Thank you for this in-depth look at 1.0. I think I will enjoy exploring the changes even more than with the earlier alphas. I will state the clothing/armour changes don't seem to be as bad as it could have been.
Fingers crossed!
They should add monster-specific loot, and loot-types, randomly-generated ofc, for example Soldier and Demolisher would be the best chance of getting grenades; rockets; explosive-ammo etc. and some very rare chance of getting rocket-launcher; M60 etc.
Would love that ... the Dishong Tower Challenge does this.
Great job, Eko! Can't wait to see everything else you have coming down the pipeline. See you during Streamer Weekend!
See you there!
finally a good gore system and AMAZING VIDEO
thanks so much - the gore is amazing!
R.I.P. alpha.
There were times that I loved you and times that I hated you, (clipping me and my full mini bike though the ground.)
But lots of memories were made. I can't wait to begin the new ones in 1.0.
Sooo many memories.
i’m so happy to see this getting an update
This is a very high-quality video. Great job!
Thanks!
As someone whos been playing since alpha 8 on pc I am so awed by whats coming next. The Fun Pimps out do themselves time and time again!
A very excelent video, the best for the new release info!
Thanks kindly!
I am so excited to play this on console finally! I may take a few days off from work just to play this.
Jen said a Fallout joke to me. Something bout Jets, radX, and stimpacks? I think you got the wrong trader.
Oh ... I haven't heard that one yet!
Yeah first time I heard that I giggled! 😂 She makes another remark about how she still doesn’t have radx or something. “Yep still don’t have stimpaks” or something similar to that. She makes like 2-3 jokes about Fallout, but without saying it’s about fallout. You only get the reference if you’ve played fallout before and I love that. I love her because she’s nice lol I hate Rekt. He’s an asshole. Even when I buy a bunch of stuff he still yells at me 😂😂 Which is funny but still. Damned if you do damned if you don’t. I like when he mentions about being hungover and then you hear the bottles breaking haha.
I love it, the best is be able to upgrade the storage and have another seat for vehicles :)
I'm with you on the storage upgrade.
Top notch editing & prep
Thanks so much!
Is 1.0 releasing to the public at 12:00am on June 24th?
Or 12pm June 24th?
pm
thank you for the quality ! when does this new patch is coming out ?
Monday - 6/24
@@WaywardEko thank you! Cool
As someone who plays this since the first alpha version I can tell the new character textures are a HUGE improvement.
So much nicer .. especially when playing MP.
You have a monster pc and running around with 30 fps when there's not even much happening on the screen. How is this acceptable?
It’s gotten better since launch.
Thank you for your tremendous effort!
My pleasure!
Was hoping for more as well.
I think these have HUGE potential.
Yeah they look awesome, and will be nice to explore some big buildings that aren't crazy hard! I always like checking the new pois.
