Funpimps really do play with visual storytelling. You can see it in lots of POIs. Just look around and suddenly you get the feeling what might have happened. Truly well done imo.
its something of a lost art form. Since a lot of people want the story spoon fed to them rather than looking at the enviroment. even if the 7dtd world is full of player built places. If they want to add to the story they can build according to the story of the world. A zombie outbreak (unknown patient zero), sweeping through the world meaning that if your home survives a bit. there would be a ripped open side of the house, or maybe damaged cause of the fight against a horde, or lastly the infection came from inside.
I don't think that the infection you get in game is the zombie virus, I think it's just a normal bacterial infection irl. You can get infected by normal animals and that's why it can be cured by antibiotics and honey. A virus cannot be cured by antiobiotics iirc.

I always liked the idea that your just a test subject to see how people would survive in a situation like this. It would explain the airdrops, the traders, and the reason that you just randomly spawn in a part of navezgane.
If i remember early lore correctly, this is the aftermath of world war 3. The remaining people got infected with an unknown virus and it wasnt clear, if it was a consequence of the radiation or the biochemical weapons used in ww3. Infected people died within 7 days and got reanimated as zombies, wich the game name originated. Navezgane, was one of the last inhabitable regions of the world and youre playing a survivor in this zombie infested land.
Great video. I recently have been doing my own sleuthing in Navazgane and was coming up with similar conclusions. Telling my fellow players in various playthroughs about the underlining story always blows their minds. Funny how so few people catch on to these hints. Anyways nice to have your video to send to people for a quick recap on the bits of info we have currently.
Appreciate that, glad you enjoyed the video, hopefully we’ll see some more content like this in future alphas, definitely a fun bit of additional and often overlooked lore to discover
The radiation zone would, theoretically, be where the nuke went off. A typical nuke has about a 3/4 mile area where the radiation would remain lethal after a detonation. A severe shockwave would continue half a mile beyond that (wasteland), with severe thermal damage extending out to a mile (burnt forest).
A tier 5 Higashi Clear almost broke me 😅 Had Zombies that wouldn't spawn in until I went out on a random window ledge area on a random floor. When I finally finished it hours later, my motorcycle disappeared. I had no other vehicle. Had to walk a couple thousand Kilos back to Joel... Fought 2 screamer hordes and zombie bears. Motorcycle reappeared the next day in front of the Higashi building.
Yo I hated that quest. We searched everywhere we could, breaking down locked doors just to try to find the last zombie. Finally I just got so frustrated I tunneled my way through the building to find the last one had somehow gotten glitched inside of a wall.
4:56 That's the greek letter Lambda (Λ/λ), and not Alpha (Α/α); which should've had the horizontal line. And the other letter is Omicron (Ο/ο), instead of Omega (Ω/ω). But you could argue that those are simply the latin letters "A" and "O" and the Lambda is just a stylized "A".
Very interesting, apologies for the mistake, I think the Latin letters probably do refer to what I was getting at either way though, but we must also be aware the level designers are working with the English alphabet letter blocks and being creative with them. Thanks for the insight!
A couple wrinkles here that are not mentioned: 1. We are receiving airdrops. As of now, there is no airplanes in the game, so we can only assume these airdrops are coming from outside the zone. So why are they dropping supplies? Are these supplies just for anyone or specifically for the player? If they are specifically intended for the player, why? 2. What is up with the 7 day hordes? These specifically attack the player, but are they only attacking the player? Is the ascetics of horde night important to this, or just cosmetic? 3. Most the POIs seem to have only been recently overwhelmed. Is this a clue to a recent change in the situation in the zone, or just purely cosmetic? 4. The zone appears to have erratic power. Some of it is now explained by generators at various sites, and there is a number of power installation POIs so this could go either way. Maybe central power is still available in select areas, or not and the devs are just slowly cleaning up the inconsistency by adding in generators. 5. Beyond just giving us loot at the end, is there a more elaborate explanation for why there are large caches in these locations? Probably not, but not impossible. Could be some kind of sick game going on. 6. There was a few hints in earlier alphas of so mysticism in the game. In 1.0 we now have some super tech showing up. Are either of these important or just easy ways to explain items having unusual buffs?
The reason for the lootcrates being in every POI could be because survivors would hold up in buildings and horde what supplies they had left. Its like coming across a player base when they only survived 2 or three days.
The airdrops one is interesting because regardless of who those supplies are for, it implies there's a community somewhere out there with enough supplies to share via the drops (they might even be manufacturing these supplies themselves) and the means to transport them via airdrop.
maybe the first, second, third and fifth points are all related, the airdrops, which previously where intended for the communities that started to appear, are left to anyone left in the area after the change of behaviour of the zombies into hordes(ny a unknown reason), which lead to the collapse of the more populated or weaker communities across, which is the reason of why are there caches on these locations, were the supplies of an existing place before being overwhelmed or hastily fled from there. But idk, I'm just theorizing from my extremely limited pool of knowledge about the matter.
Number 3 gets me. There's some POIs that have power still on with dying or even still lit fights in their hearths. It makes me think a few of them were recently overwhelmed too, by like an hour or so in some cases. Then there are certain zombies literally called "survivors" making me think it's meant to be assumed that there are other survivors around, we just keep finding them all minutes too late.
Correction: 402 is an estimate made by Trader Rekt since its on a sign outside his base. It even has ? Marks next to it, illustrating that its just a rough guess. Could be more or could be less than that, we just dont know

with the new newspaper clippings textures it seems to be implied that Navezgane is one if not the only place that wasn't heavily bombed with nuclear weapons. one newspaper at the end of 2033 states a new virus that researchers were trying to study had broken out (septidurnal or something) and no one was sure what exactly it was. the second newspaper at the beginning of 2034 stated that the virus had spread so much in one city that it was ordered by the president of that time to be evacuated of all healthy citzens, cut off then nuked. i think in the first newspaper the Duke who seemed to have some political influence in Navezgane County was interviewed and said that Navezgane should close its borders to the outside which are why there roadblocks in some parts of Navezgane that lead to the edges of the map. i also think somewhere there was a mention of Navezgane being "The Last Eden" or something on a road sign
I’m personally not in the camp that needs it to be finished, if it was released as finished 10 years ago no one would be playing/talking about it today without the constant development in my opinion

One thing I don't think you mentioned, is "Cassadore". When you take a Buried Supplies quest, the description references the previous courier running into some "Cassadore lackeys" and having to hide what they were carrying. Who is that, and will *we* ever run into them?
So, having played since 2014 there have been many revisions of POIs and the artwork. For example, there used to be a lake cabin with a multi-level human experimentation lab under it. But having played entirely too long I was under the impression that there was some sort of epidemic which spurred on dramatic and aggressive experimentation/research which went wrong and became the zombie virus. This was all well before 2020 so not sure if they are sticking with that kind of lore. I am also unsure if those 'hidden lab' POIs still exist
Interesting, I took a long break between A15 and A19 and definitely wasn’t scrutinising as hard as I am currently so was overlooked by myself, lore is prone to retconning though so maybe they’ve taken a different direction as the story takes a more concrete shape
I really love how we already have lore, I just hope they continue on track so it makes sense once they release the story mode! Cause in my opinion this can be a really interesting story to continue. I'd also love if they made it so the bandits are working for The Duke just to add to what they have, since the note implies that the character owes him still it's understandable if they come to collect
In the UFO museum, there's a display case with a zombie inside striking a Han Solo-esque pose. That could imply some people believed there was an alien connection to the outbreak
I LOVED THIS SO MUCH! Played 7DTD since a15 on PC and played the older version on console for a long time. This was awesome info. I've always wanted to know what the back story is, was or is currently happening.
I agree with that.. with his environmental story telling / theories / time line what not.. I reckon he could actually make a fun and entertaining movie about the game.
As someone who loves learning the story and lore of movie franchises and video games, I thank you for this video. I was looking in the wrong areas for it this time
2 things I'd like to say about this: 1. the players are immune, you never see them turn after they die from an infection. The infection status can be cured with antibiotics, meaning the infection isn't a viral one... considering that the infection status can be cured so easily, I doubt that it refers to the infection that caused people to turn. This might be another plotpoint to look into. 2. if the surrounding area of navezgane was bombed, how come it's an island... I don't get that part. If anything they did this research on an island on purpose to contain potential outbreaks.
@@cuhyotepowered1201 yea I played Navezgane again in creative and noticed it isn't surrounded by water like all the other presets. It's been years so I completely forgot about that. Nowadays I only play on randomly generated world maps.
love the breakdown man ive been playing this game with my same buddy for about 8 years and the games never gotten old or bad to us but we never cared for lore W video bro and really good explanation keep up the good work and be sure to do another one in case they add the duke into the game or something like that
What if, the virus, spread through poisoning, you find half eaten sham sandwiches every where. Higashi and the Duke were in on it together, they used their connections to contaminate a batch of Sham, and that's how the outbreak started. Corny I know but that's what I've always thought.
Oooh, that is an interesting observation! Actually reminds of the "TurDucken" meals in the show Supernatural... 😏 Those sandwiches were made to be addictive and make people just stop doing anything (work, play) until they died. If the Sham Sandwiches are part of the reason for the zombies....😂😂😂
That was fun. :) Made me wonder. I haven't looked into it, but have any modders tried to add the story of Navezgane/the Duke/Noah in, as an RPG mod for the game? I know there are overhaul mods that basically tell their own story, but any mods speculating where TFP are thinking of going with this? That'd be fun.
Recently came back to the game and after some playing got myself thinking, what the hell actually happened in 7 days to die. Thank you for taking your time to research and produce this video. Cheers!
The problem with the Higashi labs and the underground research facilities at the home being efforts to combat the virus is that all of those facilities take a ton of time to construct and a lot of materials as well as manpower. Even the staffing required takes time, with the concurrent need for housing and basic services support for the workforce in the facility. In light of this, the theory that these are created to try to stop the virus doesn't hold up. That this lab has been in existence for years and is a major employer in the area is far more realistic. That they are doing research into the virus is obvious - but with what intention is murky. Bombing a seaport outside the outbreak zone in an effort to contain virus spread internationally is also not effective or likely as seaports move goods and not people. There are 3 major Pacific US seaports and more in other Pacific Rim countries. The explosion is not necessarily in the US. Preventing the international spread of illness would be airport focused as this is the most used form of transporting humans. As Navaganze has no airport, only a series of Helipads, we don't really know why the explosion occurred. A nuclear explosion is most likely a military, although a suitcase nuke deployed by a non governmental organization is also possible. The destruction of a seaport is more likely to be about the destroying of cargo or inhibiting the bulk resupply of an area with needed goods. Higashi means "east" in both Japanese and Chinese kanji as well as a type of Wagashi (traditional Japanese confection served with green tea). We could infer that choosing the name Higashi for the research labs is a clue as to internationally based powers working in the US. Instead of us shipping our bioresearch out of country, other countries are shipping theirs here and having done so for a long time. Given the need for permits and other regulations for constructions of this size, this is not unknown to the officials in Navaganze county or Arizona State. A more interesting story would be the scaling competition of foreign research companies that releases the virus (either as an accident during a sabotage or on purpose as an intended small scale sabotage), an attempted coverup, a scramble to promote a 'cure' to address the spread into the general population, the reaction by government to use the only tools it has to deal with the growing and spreading situation and a retaliatory nuclear strike by a small nation that ignites automated nuclear response by the larger nations. As players, we don't know and in all reality, it won't matter for us. What is our story is how the local population has dealt with the aftermath of whatever or whoever made bad choices for mankind and how we are finding enough supplies to get through the next bloodmoon. But, these are just my thoughts.
I was waiting and I'm surprised to see you did not mention the active presence of air support from outside Navezgane. One can assume there's people a certain distance out that has a vested interest in helping anyone still trapped in Navezgane for whatever reason. Was hoping maybe you'd have had a closer look at the aircraft in question for clues.
Something most people aren't aware of, is that radioactive fallout is an intended byproduct of nuclear weapons, and not a consequence of them. Its entirely possible to make nukes that don't spread radioactive fallout across the land and contaminate everything. Its just that having that as a byproduct makes them that much more of a deterrent. Imo, I think the military has at least a few of these "clean" nukes on hand, just for the purpose of a last resort domestic nuclear strike. To prevent ruining home soil, so to speak.
It's crazy how almost every POI seems like it has a story and how many places have such dark names. Butcher Pete is a straight up reference to the song of the same name. You can tell the people turned crazy. Probably prion diseases, and I suspect it was pre-ou tbreak it started. There is a connected ambulance garage.
An interesting take. I didn't know about the Japanese company, because I haven't made it that far. I've been trying to figure out "How much time has passed since the outbreak, nuke & fall of civilization, based on evidence in the game?" The calendars are one clue as to when civilization collapsed. Then there's the various states of "decomposition" of the areas & specifically buildings. I'm guessing player is 5-10 years after the calendars? Thoughts on that? [Edited to correct spelling error]
I started playing two months ago, and I know I didn't get that second note when I started for Noah's coalition. I only got the Duke's. Either way, I'm so excited for the potential of new NPCs and a story in the game. I've been wondering most about all of the Missing posters I see everywhere. I've barely noticed advertisements for Z-Xide, but my little growing theory of a story was that people were disappearing as they got infected, sorta just wandering off. Now I'm wondering if it's that they were being abducted and used for experiments at Hagashi. I have another theory, which is that the surviving (player) humans are also infected, just in different ways. Like someone else mentioned the wights appear in both Hagashi and the military bases, as if they were meant to be biological weapons. I think it's more likely that they wanted to make super humans, likely using DNA from animals to mix with that of humans. Some humans were compatible with the strains and survived by mutating in positive ways while the majority mutated in negative, undead ways. The reason I think the player-humans are also mutated is the obvious super strength implied by us being able to put an entire 4x4 truck in our bags and still run around, but also by the fact that even if we die from an infection, we don't come back. To me, that means we're already technically infected on a small level. I think Navesgane is now a testing ground to see if we can clean up our counterparts and also to see how long we stay resistant to the disease. Those air drops could be from an outside facility aimed at giving us just enough resources that we don't die to the elements before the experiment is complete.
It's the Duke. He's a Native American who used spirit magic to get revenge against the white man for taking his ancestral land. The horde attack the player every 7 days because the player character had somehow crossed the Duke and thus, the Duke sends them after the player.
So is the world outside of Navezgane as a whole intact? Where do the air drops come from, clearly someone from somewhere is looking out for the survivors of Navezgane.
There Is a excavación in an ancient native American settlement inside the great canyon of navezgane, inside that excavación there Is some sus opened graves, maybe Higashi did not created the virus, jus played with it until got burned, it also adds more involvement of the Duke in the story 😮
Interesting change compared to the original story, which was that WW3 had begun and nuclear weapons were used among others, one of those was the zombie virus, after the war, the survivor(s) found Navezgane, a zone untouched by radiation and thus the game went on
My husbands theory is that the infection is magical in nature. There is a house that has an alter in the upper room. But that doesnt mean much. The reason my husband is so sure its magical is zombie behavior. During hordes, they always know exactly where you are. Also, the blood moon itself. Blood moons are very important for magic and the ocult.
The medical clinics and hospitals all have the Pop-n-Pills signs on them, and the ambulances have a pill logo on them, so does this mean that all medical buildings are owned by the private pharmaceutical company?
So as a console player. I dont know much about the new pois etc, but have explored and seen a few things, which makes me believe the storyline is a bit similar to Resident evil, umbrella were a pharmaceutical company who did experiments and shit. And by the looks of it so is hagashi.
The mod community has done great things; and helped keep it going. I would have stopped at 12 if not for Darkness Falls, war3z, and Ravenhurst mostly...although there are many great mods, Rebirth did a great bandit job already.
I’ve always been torn on having a campaign in this game. On the one hand, it would be fun and intriguing and all that! But on the other…. It would place an end on a playthrough. Once you finish all the quests and story, you may as well just start a new game. And when the story is the same everytime? Well you’re going to get sick of it and just stop playing… but I think if the campaign ONLY exists on the navezgane map? Then it would solve that issue! You play the campaign once (or once in a great while) and otherwise you play on a random gen or any other pre-gen map. That way every single game you play doesn’t have a storyline. I think that would be the best way to go about it. If they do that then I’ll definitely look forward to a story mode.
@@aerionomega935 it is set in Arizona, that’s why the only named survivor colony is called White River settlement, named after the real world town of White River. The main antagonist is the Duke, a Native American referencing the Apache Reservation in Arizona, there are also test files containing dozens of POIs titled “Arizona city/Arizona Downtown”
@@Voltraluxx but the physical evidence doesnt support that... why would every car in the game have a texas plate? seems like something too obvious to be "just a mistake" also, the lore mentions ports, and texas has ports, while arizona is landlocked... also, white river is mentioned in the game, but isnt actually anywhere within the game... and as for "the duke", we never see him, as well as the possibility that this person's influence has spread during the apocalypse... i think the player is in west texas close to the western border of the state somewhat near the ocean, but not close enough to get there in-game... plus, the irl event in november, is being held in dallas texas... why not arizona, if that is where it takes place? everything really points to navezgane being in texas...
I agree with this take except on step1 of the timeline I'd say "Higashi or someone else created the virus" though yeah, probably the evil pharma as per usual 😜
To be fair, we dont know why they launched the nukes. We dont know if it was to contain the zombies in Navezgane, or to keep them out. If thats the case, that would explain the radiated zombies, as they would nost likely originate from outside and have crossed the radiation zone, thus making them irradiated
Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet" is a Latin phrase that translates to "Nor is there anyone who loves or pursues or desires to obtain pain of itself, because it is pain, but occasionally circumstances occur in which toil and pain can procure him some great pleasure
Extremely off topic but I *must* know... Why do people still pronounce it "NUKE-YOO-LUR" ? It's CLEARLY spelled Nuclear, and like... Anyone who took basic english class knows how to pronounce words based on the placement of letters. NU for 'NOO' The C makes the K sound in this case. And the L afterward DOES NOT imply the 'Yoo' sound, it's an L sound. Then Ear... well, like an ear on your head. Then you put it all together and say "NOO-K-LEE-UR" Sorry for being that guy, but... Damn it's just an irk of mine.
This is why: The pronunciation (noo'kyə-lər), which is generally considered incorrect, is an example of how a familiar phonological pattern can influence an unfamiliar one ... [since] much more common is the similar sequence (-kyə-lər), which occurs in words like particular, circular, spectacular, and in many scientific words like molecular, ocular, and vascular.
@@Voltraluxx ... I get what you're saying. The sound it more common because it appears in other words... But again, in this case, unlike in those cases, you can *clearly* see the difference that is there in the *spelling* of the word. But... Again... I do see your point. XD Thank you for pointing this out for me.
I think this is looking for an explanation in lore, rather that one outside the lore. The game doesn't have a story, it has some fragments you can piece to together, because the TFPs didn't do the story. They have had 10 years to make one, it's one if their Kickstarter goals, but they only left some fragements. The truth is, The Fun Pimps have made a full release without substantial promised features, changed fundemnetal systems just before release, and will continue to tinker for a very long time, because it makes them money. We may never get a story that is actually cohesive. How woudl traders fit into this exactly? They are magical beings, whose homes cannot be destroyed, do not scavenge or do anything outside of being a their at the player's behest. They are a gameply mechanic, and nothing more. I love the game, but it's not any deeper than it is.
The Greek symbols in the lab under Dr. K. Higashi's home are not the Alpha and the Omega: they are the Lambda and the Omicron, resp. So no biblical significance sadly. For future reference: the 'alpha' looks like a smushed together jesus-fish and the 'omega' looks like a horseshoe.
@@Voltraluxx I don't see why that matters: if the Funpimps wanted those Greek letters to be in the game they would be. Shouldn't be too hard honestly, to make them be in the game.

Nice hypothesis based on available information. Very informative -- thanks!
Thanks for the feedback glad you enjoyed it!
I concur,WELL DONE SIR!The brothers should hire you from creativity alone 💯
A tier 5 Higashi Clear almost broke me 😅
Had Zombies that wouldn't spawn in until I went out on a random window ledge area on a random floor.
When I finally finished it hours later, my motorcycle disappeared. I had no other vehicle. Had to walk a couple thousand Kilos back to Joel... Fought 2 screamer hordes and zombie bears.
Motorcycle reappeared the next day in front of the Higashi building.
Thousands of kilos? So millions of meters?
That must have taken weeks
Didn't even know that maps can be that big
@@pettydoteamit's an over exaggeration, the biggest possible map is 16 by 16km, navezgane is 6 by 6km, most people play on 8 to 10km worlds
A couple wrinkles here that are not mentioned:
Navezgane is also called “new Eden” it’s currently at 402 surviving humans as of the date 1.0 is set, no relevance I just wanted to tell someone
Correction: 402 is an estimate made by Trader Rekt since its on a sign outside his base. It even has ? Marks next to it, illustrating that its just a rough guess. Could be more or could be less than that, we just dont know
@@jrlopez1027. it couldn’t be more it’s 402- not 402+ the ? Just means that’s how many as of writing the message since he knows how much was before plus the traders would have more connections than anyone else making them more accurate
@@jrlopez1027.402 as an estimate I think means at least 402 with unconfirmed reports of others I doubt it’s less than 402
But then again we don’t know when the sign was put up
with the new newspaper clippings textures it seems to be implied that Navezgane is one if not the only place that wasn't heavily bombed with nuclear weapons. one newspaper at the end of 2033 states a new virus that researchers were trying to study had broken out (septidurnal or something) and no one was sure what exactly it was. the second newspaper at the beginning of 2034 stated that the virus had spread so much in one city that it was ordered by the president of that time to be evacuated of all healthy citzens, cut off then nuked. i think in the first newspaper the Duke who seemed to have some political influence in Navezgane County was interviewed and said that Navezgane should close its borders to the outside which are why there roadblocks in some parts of Navezgane that lead to the edges of the map. i also think somewhere there was a mention of Navezgane being "The Last Eden" or something on a road sign
Hell will freeze over before this game ever gets finished
Yeah, it's essentially a modder pallet.
I’m personally not in the camp that needs it to be finished, if it was released as finished 10 years ago no one would be playing/talking about it today without the constant development in my opinion
nor am i but i am in the camp that thinks TFP are clueless and that Alpha 21 sucks big fat hairy balls@@Voltraluxx
Well it's a very small team working on the game so of course it's taking awhile
dood please think Kenshi was made by one guy who has a a severe physical disability his name is Chris it is a game of infinately more depth and complexity and he did it on his own in under 10 years@@bluedragon2049
If the entirety of civilization is gone then where do those planes that air drop supplies come from?
White river camp, the guys who find you and drop you naked
The air drop is a gift for being active, doing tasks and sell materials to the traders
8:17 but it's not gone, it's just inaccessible due to the rad buffer around the area.
One thing I don't think you mentioned, is "Cassadore". When you take a Buried Supplies quest, the description references the previous courier running into some "Cassadore lackeys" and having to hide what they were carrying. Who is that, and will *we* ever run into them?
Here’s the thing the burnt forest has a dark ambiance there’s a baby crying and some people say you can hear a woman singing
I started playing Alpha 21.2 and yes, there are still underground lab/bunkers. Makes for good imagination of what might have happened.
Always a good day when Voltra's around.
Too kind appreciate it
@@Voltraluxx Np man. :)
Sort of turns the game into a mystery. Ive got 4k+ hours and never really studied the "clues". Well done!
I LOVED THIS SO MUCH! Played 7DTD since a15 on PC and played the older version on console for a long time. This was awesome info. I've always wanted to know what the back story is, was or is currently happening.
Very well done. Now I want to see a 7 Days to Die movie!
Thankyou glad you enjoyed the video!
I agree with that.. with his environmental story telling / theories / time line what not.. I reckon he could actually make a fun and entertaining movie about the game.
well considering the garbage thats produced now i'll pass on the movie.
As someone who loves learning the story and lore of movie franchises and video games, I thank you for this video. I was looking in the wrong areas for it this time
Hector Salamanca killing Gus Fring is canon in 7DtD. In the nursing home building there will be an explosion and in the room will be a wheelchair lol
2 things I'd like to say about this:
1. the players are immune, you never see them turn after they die from an infection.
Navezgane isn’t an island. Not sure where you’re getting that from. It’s supposed to be a county in Arizona.
@@cuhyotepowered1201 been a while since I played the navezgane preset, but so far the game map has always been surrounded by water -> island.
@@Maffia7 The story and lore only pertain to the navezgane map. It’s the official map the devs work with every detail being hand picked by them.
@@cuhyotepowered1201 yea I played Navezgane again in creative and noticed it isn't surrounded by water like all the other presets. It's been years so I completely forgot about that. Nowadays I only play on randomly generated world maps.
The infection is NOT the zombie virus. It's a infection from open wounds. This is why normal animals can infect you
Great video! Gave me chills at the end!!
love the breakdown man ive been playing this game with my same buddy for about 8 years and the games never gotten old or bad to us but we never cared for lore W video bro and really good explanation keep up the good work and be sure to do another one in case they add the duke into the game or something like that
What if, the virus, spread through poisoning, you find half eaten sham sandwiches every where. Higashi and the Duke were in on it together, they used their connections to contaminate a batch of Sham, and that's how the outbreak started. Corny I know but that's what I've always thought.
Would make sense that the virus spread through the boars, Higashi may have genetically modified them and sold them to Bobs Boars who supplied Sham?
Oooh, that is an interesting observation! Actually reminds of the "TurDucken" meals in the show Supernatural... 😏 Those sandwiches were made to be addictive and make people just stop doing anything (work, play) until they died.
If the Sham Sandwiches are part of the reason for the zombies....😂😂😂
Great stuff and enjoyed the story and the theories. Well done!
@@DavidWBIII appreciate that and glad you enjoyed the video!
That was fun. :)
Made me wonder. I haven't looked into it, but have any modders tried to add the story of Navezgane/the Duke/Noah in, as an RPG mod for the game? I know there are overhaul mods that basically tell their own story, but any mods speculating where TFP are thinking of going with this? That'd be fun.
Glad you enjoyed the video, on the modding subject I’m not sure and not to my knowledge, TFP seem to be planning to flesh it out in future though
Recently came back to the game and after some playing got myself thinking, what the hell actually happened in 7 days to die. Thank you for taking your time to research and produce this video. Cheers!
Appreciate the kind words glad you enjoyed the video!
The Fun Pimps have stated that official lore is on their list to finalize before they finally complete Alpha. So there will be an answer.
I look forward to it, will be interesting to find out how close I was when it drops!
Looks like horde night tonight (7 days since comment was posted)
Probably all correct.
But isn't there a meteor crater in one of the shopping marts?
Will you do another story video after the q4 2025 update, it says they'll add a story mode on the roadmap
Noah, the Duke and the Outbreak could be so cool Concepts to bring into the Game.
Good video . i watched it because i recognize your name from the modding community.
7:33 It didn't go airborn, you only get it from a bite or scratch.
Looking forward to a 1.0 video 👀
It's the Duke. He's a Native American who used spirit magic to get revenge against the white man for taking his ancestral land. The horde attack the player every 7 days because the player character had somehow crossed the Duke and thus, the Duke sends them after the player.
So is the world outside of Navezgane as a whole intact? Where do the air drops come from, clearly someone from somewhere is looking out for the survivors of Navezgane.
Have you mentioned the Wright Residence involvement in the lore?
I'm very curious about the story for this game and happy to see its finally coming out of early access.
There Is a excavación in an ancient native American settlement inside the great canyon of navezgane, inside that excavación there Is some sus opened graves, maybe Higashi did not created the virus, jus played with it until got burned, it also adds more involvement of the Duke in the story 😮
Actually makes me interested to see what that story mode could be about
Wow! Thank you for this expòse! ❤
nice job mate 🙂
i alway got the impression it had been years.
Yeah I do think the players story takes place years after the initial outbreak
that certainly earned a sub from me. Thanks for the content
Appreciate the kind words glad you enjoyed the video
Just came to say rip to all the chickens.😁
Interesting change compared to the original story, which was that WW3 had begun and nuclear weapons were used among others, one of those was the zombie virus, after the war, the survivor(s) found Navezgane, a zone untouched by radiation and thus the game went on
All these doctors, scientists, labs, pharmaceutical corporations, etc and no one figured out the cure was a spoonful of honey?
Alpha and omega could be a fancy way to say "before" and "after" testing, like in your vid alpha zombie looks normal and omega zombie looks mutated?
Great video. ☃
Man, I cant wait for story mode
the start description of after the z-xide it sounds like the dying light 1 intro lol
Does explain the 7 days horde
So as a console player. I dont know much about the new pois etc, but have explored and seen a few things, which makes me believe the storyline is a bit similar to Resident evil, umbrella were a pharmaceutical company who did experiments and shit. And by the looks of it so is hagashi.
I am genuinely shocked this game didnt die out already due to how long its taking for it to actually release
Bravo! :)
Thankyou!
Based on your helpfulness, I bet VoltraLux's true identity is Noah!
Kind words Ben appreciate that !
There’s a story??

Veru cool, great job,
navezgane isnt in arizona... its in texas... just look at all the license plates on the cars...
@@aerionomega935 Could be that Texans evacuated to Arizona
I agree with this take except on step1 of the timeline I'd say "Higashi or someone else created the virus" though yeah, probably the evil pharma as per usual 😜
To be fair, we dont know why they launched the nukes. We dont know if it was to contain the zombies in Navezgane, or to keep them out. If thats the case, that would explain the radiated zombies, as they would nost likely originate from outside and have crossed the radiation zone, thus making them irradiated
wait theres a story?
Sort of
Oh yeah, i totally forgot there is a story lore in this game... How many years has it been already?😅
10 long years haha
I don't think we'll ever see the duke
i remember there being something about bees?
What a great video. I honestly didn't realize I would care so much about the lore, yet here we are.

Cool theory if only the fun pimps made a game with a story
Then you put it all together and say "NOO-K-LEE-UR"
Sorry for being that guy, but...
XD Thank you for pointing this out for me.
ah yes "lorem ipsum"
why didnt they just pop few antibiotics or honey lol
It also takes place in 2030 too
The Greek symbols in the lab under Dr. K. Higashi's home are not the Alpha and the Omega: they are the Lambda and the Omicron, resp. So no biblical significance sadly. For future reference: the 'alpha' looks like a smushed together jesus-fish and the 'omega' looks like a horseshoe.
@@Quetzietse but the game doesn’t have assets to accurately reflect those symbols and so the alphabet shapes were used instead
@@Voltraluxx I don't see why that matters: if the Funpimps wanted those Greek letters to be in the game they would be. Shouldn't be too hard honestly, to make them be in the game.
It looks like the devs are slowly working on the lore and setting up factions for future updates
So is that why the player created servers still suck?
