    Very articulate. No rambling. Just the info you need. I watched the trailforce front bumper and winch video to prepare for my installs. Gotta go get some plastic conduit, that's a great idea. Very clean installs.

    This is one of the best instructional video for setting up bumper and winch combo from the makers of Extreme Terrain. Thanks for sharing brother, my last JKU I had the winch setup the hard way. Now I've picked up my new 2017 JKU and will surely follow your steps.

    Great tutorial, thanks! The extra protection on the power lead cable is a good thing and I'll be doing that as well. I've noticed in a couple of your vids you do a great job protecting the wire bundles. It's always a good idea to use dielectric grease to the electrical connections.

    Excellent! Very helpful video. I am in the middle of the project for both the Barricade Trail Force HD Bumper and Barricade Winch. The details you provide are very useful. The only change I made was to extend the Fog lights cable to put less stress on reach. I especially like the fact you name your wrenches as you go.

    For UV protection I recommend wrapping the end of the the rope that sticks out the front with tape, i used Gaffer Tape that I found on amazon which has held up really well.
    For now I am also using a cover but i plan to cut some sheet metal to cover up just the spool. I wish they made some kind of plastic cover that you could just snap on.

    Between the grille inserts and the airflow disruption from the winch itself you're going to want to put some heat distribution louvers in that hood. Believe me. Especially if you plan on towing something of any weight over a mountain pass. If you have big oversized tires & are horsepower deprived it's going to overheat from even minimal air flow issues. If you're not towing anything of any weight and you're running normal tires should be fine & have absolutely no problems..!!! Great how to..in depth video & very informative. Great job my brother..!!! Clicking subscribe.

    I enjoy the way you installation of your winch on the bumper. I have the same bumper as you. Did you use wire loom on both cables? If you did use wire loom, you only tape at both ends, not the hold cable. But that is my choice. I did install inline a 30amp fuse holder on the positive side cable. When you install the fuse holder, solder it. Do not crimp inline, you will less chance of failure.

    Love your videos. Isn't it smart to rewire the winch whit some load after installing. What do you think? that you spol out all the rope/wire and have your car in a small slope in natural gear. And then use your car as load to wire in /preloaded the rope/wire. Hope you understand what I ment. love your channel watch your videos a few times now

    I'm fully aware that this is more of a winch install video. I live in upstate NY where we receive a fair amount of snow. Does anyone notice rust after a few years? From all salt on the road? (If you live in similar winter conditions.) Looking to possibly purchase a barricade bumper like this. I know they are powered coated but still? My 2012 Jeep wrangler is my daily driving vehicle and don't use it for off road. Just looking to beef up my Wrangler but not sure if it would be worth the money if it were to rust due to salt like I mentioned. Feedback appreciated.

    What made you go with synthetic?

    • @o3djeeps
      @o3djeeps  8 років тому +2

      +brandonbair Light weight, safer, easier to handle. That's it really. Everyone I spoke with about winches seems to think that synthetic is the way to go these days. The ropes are stronger (in many cases) than the steel equivalents...but don't hold energy - so if they break the risk of injury is much less. They have a bit of a maintenance requirement...but if you use the cover...then pretty much everything is covered (literally). lol

    • @schmonkeeshomky5386
      @schmonkeeshomky5386 7 років тому +1

      OVERCLOCK3D - CPO exactly why I chose synthetic. Sucks that the sun reduces their strength advantage so quick. Synthetic loses like 20% of its strength from sun burn/dry out in about 1 year. Replacing the winch "cable" is required way more often when you go with synthetic (for safety).
