I really thought she was a tortilla 😂
Same 😂
I thought she was a plate of fried eggs, sunny side up 🙃
Raww Fishh me too!!
Oh ma gash samee
Lmao
I don't know how I got here but I like what I'm learning.
me too....lol
Same, lol.
Right? How I got here from Jeffree Star I'll never know, but it's totally fascinating!
Sea_bassy_cat yep me too from reptiles to stingrays
Same 🤣
Poor thing. She's breathing so fast. She's so stressed out
thania72olds442 Stress makes it buff with adrenaline, exactly what we need for a feast.
@@bakedgoldfish45 lol wtf
@@SmooshGoo he's actually right but it's pretty sick and inhumane. sometimes they kill the fish in the most frightening way to them, to boost their adrenaline in that moment, supposedly makes it tastier. It's terrible.
It just gave birth to 5 pups. Did you expect more or less?
@@MadarakiFran Sounds like ADRENOCHROME.
(◡_◡ﻩ🌸)
Lucky she survived.. It's very common for any female animal with stillborns to not make it.
Fish are Hardy that way

Depends why the baby is stillborn but yeah to carry them around like that :-/ poor Mama
Non Flammable Boi cursed comment
an opossum yaaaaaas
Those dead babies kinda looked like wontons
Do you want some noodles with that?

She’s beautiful I never seen an albino ray before
Please explain how breeding back to their mother or siblings won't cause eventual genetic issues?
Marie Thomas it will and he knows it but the profit > the animals future
It may but what can be done to mitigate this is breed out again after the first generation of parent to offspring breeding to gain another generation of hets for albino to increase the pool of albino breeders( even if they are just carriers of the gene) but with greater genetic diversity. Eventually with continued outbreeding then inbreeding you get decent genetic diversity with the albino genes present amongst the pool of breeders
Line breeding isnt the worst thing in the world, especially when it comes to fish. Its just doing it for generations and generations that cause common and extreme defects. Breeding back to the mother is actually more genetically diverse than having two from the same batch
You can line breed for around 3 or 4 generations back to back before the dna of the animals becomes far to similar therefore the animals will start collecting poor genetic code making them more squashed.
It's the same with people the first 4 generations with no new genetic code with be genetically sound and after that there's too much over lap and it causes problems.
It's why people can make children with their cousins and they aren't technically by genetic terms inbred there's just enough new code to create a brand new human being with no issues.
@@thevintagebookwolf4953 Well I don't see why your argument with the cousins is in any way proving your statement with the 4 generation thing. If you breed brother and sister, then there is a risk of that second generation to become "dysfunctional". If you would inbreed that 2. generation, hell you would be very likely to get disformed humans out of it.
Breeding between cousins and breeding 4 generations between sister/brother are two different things. The coefficient of relation of brother and sister is 1/2 (50%) and among cousins it is 1/8 (12,5%)
You are basically saying 1 = 0 that's why ∞ - 0 = ∞ -1. It does not really work that way. Btw. Maybe it works with fish, but keep in mind that the life cycle of a human being is far longer than that of a sting ray. A longer life cycle means more time for radiation and toxins to play around with your genes and make them mutate. On top of that, humans have tricked natural selection which results in us having more diseases like diabetes, cancer or some autoimmune diseases. Most of these conditions have a genetical component to them and can be inherited. However, I doubt that there are no negative consequences for fish too. However, you can "outbreed" those defects in later generations.
I love when she blinks! It's like she's animated in a way lol
I’m so glad she is ok Kevin. The pups look great. It was interesting to see the undeveloped pups. Thanks for the video.
I didn't know anything about a stingray until I came across this. I'm hooked!! Very educational and intriguing
Congratulations on the new babies, so cute and sad for the ones who didn't make it. ! God Bless.
She looks like she is blinking, soooo weird yet so BEAUTIFUL
Amazing I learn something every time i watch your videos! Can't wait for the second generation albino pups!!!
omg, they are called sea pancakes for a reason...
aahhhhh the pups are so cuutteee! Good job mama!
I didn't think inbreeding was good for the offspring?
Every species began with inbreeding, it's only after a couple of gens it starts to get nasty.
@@TheFakeyCakeMaker OMG no it doesn't. A whole population of animals that become isolated can create a new species, new species doesn't begin with inbreeding. 1,000 animals isolated from the rest of their species by a geologic event that cuts them off such as a landslide. Over time mutations in their genetics accumulate and propagate throughout that population and there are enough individuals and genetic diversity that inbreeding doesn't occur. Those mutations don't wind up in the original species, only the isolated population.... because they are cut off from the rest of the world. Enough genetic drift over time results in a new species.
Inbreeding can be detrimental, but it's usually not as bad for most animals as it is for humans. It all has to do with the amount of harmful recessive genes being carried by the parents. I've had mice that did nothing but inbreed for generations, and the vast majority of them ended up healthy even 2-3 generations in.
@@AaaaNinja It's almost as though I gave an overly simplified answer because this is UA-cam not Science Con. Also every species did at one point start with inbreeding because erm...numbers. Scientists recognise that humans and animals share one common ancestor. If all humans share a common ancestor then inbreeding happened at some point. Sheesh, it's not difficult to understand.
@White Rice We are not all male and my claim is not incorrect, just over simplified.
Wow!!! What a beautiful albino stingray!😍😍😍
Beautiful mama matches your heart!
They need more natural feeling tanks so barren they should feel like they are in their natural habitat
support, look forward to see al boes pups
when you were speaking about the albino genetics i was like “i know all about this bc i’m in AP Bio and it’s the only thing i understand” 😭🤧
My boy called me and said "Ohh you got a hairy back!" Lol I thought that was a joke in the intro
My appetite also severely decreased when I got really close to going into labor with all my babies, too! Such beautiful little creatures. 😊
That stingray is beautiful holy crap her pattern😍😍
The 1st and 3rd pup were so calm! Its cute.❤️ I love rays!
*This guy explaining why the albinos pups are coming out brown*
Ark players: thats a sick mute
Lol right on man.
😂
Maybe she doesn’t like the stark non ocean like surroundings. She is all alone and so exposed
Never seen an albino ray before being recommended this video. So beautiful 😍
I know NOTHING about sting rays but I have a couple of questions. 1. Do these "albino" rays have the albinism gene? 2. Given that Albinism does indeed cause problems with any living entity, do you think mummified fetuses could be a complication due to albinism?
Like I said, I know nothing about aquatic animals however, I am a "farm wife" who has seen many odd things in a number of species over the years. Even wildlife, true albino's have a myriad of problems. Just curious!
Yes I think you a very correct in your thinking. Albinism is a cause of premature death in animals as far as longevity and still births. Then line breeding/ (in-breeding) which i am highly not in favor of ( for health reasons) adds a whole other level of risk and complications. See these issues all the time in reptiles, dogs, cats as well.
Inbreeding is meant mostly for a controlled gene pool but it does def cause complications. Breeders do it frequently if they want specific traits but dont have another source to breed with thats reliable
@@megasocky No...it CAN cause or be a problem. It's not necessarily a problem. In many animals, most in fact inbreeding is a bad thing, but in others it's not. You can also, once you have the gene established, which is the important thing, you can always outbreed them back to wild caught or different strains of the same species. Outbreeding adding vigor. Albino rats and mice can breed many generations with no problems. In this case, he has no choice...he HAS to breed the het males back to the albino female...there is no other way to do it, because that is a one of a kind albino stingray.
@@charlieparker5346 very interesting
The momma is a BEAUTIFUL ray 🥰😍😍
Stingrays are my favorite animals. So glad I found your channel 👍🏽
My first time watching your videos
Your explanation and experience was awesome 👏
Even though I am watching for first time I got all my answers
Thank you 🙏🏻
I got from watching Pokemon Let's Go Eevee videos to this, I'm not sure how but I've learnt a few things I never thought I'd know.
Wow! She is a beautiful stingray!
Well you see when a mommy ray and a daddy ray love each other very much
thank you, I really enjoyed that
Hi, how old are they when they get their spines, become breeding age and life span? They are super cool
I just started watching your channel I have a couple of questions. Is this a breeding facility, and will any of them be released? Why do you remove the pups from their mom?
They’re very graceful creatures
Super awesome! How very interesting and the babies and mama are beautiful. How high is the mortality rate I the breeding of these fish?
Love the channel✌✌
Do you not find that line breeding causes genetic problems? I know it does in mammals and wondered if it does in fish as well or as often?
love your vids!
Have you ever owned or produced any xanthic or platinum rays before? (If that’s even a thing with rays)
How much tank size required for 4 new born to double their size
Don't know a thing about Ray's but u mentioned something that has me curious. U said when the pups breed each other or the parent....does inbreeding not have an effect on them?
Shes lovely!
How long will it take to for the pups to b able to breed.
How do you cure running spot? For bd ray
Sorry for the 2 pups that didn’t make it. But at least you have 3 healthy pups that carry the albino gen with them beautiful sting rays.
They are beautiful I bet you love your job
SHES GORGEOUS OMG
Wow. She is so beautiful.
The inbreed would pass on the albino gene, but isn't there a risk birth defects?
If you don't do it too many times, inbreeding is generally harmless. The problem with inbreeding is that it greatly increases the chance that a mutated gene will appear because it won't be overpowered by a healthy gene (the baby would have two alleles, but the more inbreeding the more likely you are to get two of the mutated alleles which will be expressed). This can result in all kinds of health issues, from birth defects, genetic diseases, etc.
That's how I understand it anyway, I'm not a biologist so I could be wrong.
I don’t know how I ended up here either, but thanks for the video, I liked it
Wait so you are going to breed them with each other or their parents?
She's so beautiful I love her
Is a sting ray not recommended for beginner fishtank hobbyist
i like how he says when the start breeding with each other or the parents he like why do you think two of them are still born
What a beauty ♡
At first glance she looked like a tortilla in the thumbnail
Out of curiousity - Is it safe genetically to breed brothers and sisters or sons/daughters to each other?
How do you build such massive beautiful aquariums?
so awesome
very informatable
Crazy how people can post a video on UA-cam showing inhumane living of these beautiful beings.
Congrats!
It is normal for the pups to mate with their siblings or parents in nature? Or is that something that breeders have them do?
why do you basket the pups?
That's awesome!!! Congrats....can't wait to c much more. I luv these Ray's.
nice fish why dont you use the 2 net methord to catch them you should never slide them up the tank the 2 net methord is less stresfull on the fish plus sliding up the tank can damage them. i have been keeping tropical marine and fresh plus Axolotls in conjunction with southampton uni as they are studying the regeneration gene they are hoping to use this for burns, and damaged
orgen regen
I thought it was just cooked eggs 😂
Very cool 👍
the mother is GORGEOUS
I clicked on this because I thought this fish was a cooked tortilla and I said to myself whatever he’s cooking looks good and low and behold it’s a fucking fish 😂😂💀
wouldn't inbreeding be bad what in the pups come out with defects I have a more likely chance of them coming out with defects
Yes, its bad in some regards, but it is necessary to isolate the albino gene. We can later out cross with none related genetics.
The reason I ask is because I don't know much about breeding animals and I've always heard that inbreeding was bad
The Asylist people in West Virginia do it
@@Mr.Helper. what do you mean by that people in West Virginia and breeder animals or do you mean people in West Virginia and greed either way it's true LOL
I hate living in West Virginia so much
Are the albinos very rare? I’ve never seen one before.
Crazy how defensive the rays get
3:59 - this music reminded me so much of old 'whose line is it anyway' when they used to have a chick play the piano for the hoe-downs.
what happens if 1parent is het and the other is normal
Is there a lot of stillborns from all the inbreeding?
It happens occasionally
How old do they breed from?
You can breed the albinos pups with its mother?
RELAX! You and your girls have got this. 😃 Just remember that your girls "haven't read the book" on how to be pregnant & give birth. They are all going to be different. You take GREAT care of your rays and are very knowledgeable. I just wish you wouldn't inbreed them. That why so many pure bred dogs, horses, etc. are so screwed up. Cheers!
So interesting !!!!
Whaw its sad but happy vidio in one with lods intresting information
Those little babies are precious
I learned a few things
Thx
Are you gonna breed the siblings with each other....??
Sorry for the loss of the 2 pups.
My boy Casper
Is very common in albino animals to have undeveloped offspring, the albinism genes are not very easy to manipulate. Inbreeding and breeding two albinos can bring wanted results faster but it can bring disease and malformations faster too.
Few years from now when it’s cheaper, we’ll just be subbing in the alleles we want right into the egg..
Very interesting
She's soooo cute 😍
Boesemani: I need an inhaler.....
Looking at it thru the tank I thought it was super little, like a silver dollar size.
Excelent vídeo brother. God bless you
Amazing😍💥👍
O.o do they got lil feets? Look like lil feets. When he holds up the babys...cute..
Where are those acrylic tanks from? What are the dimensions?
Chris Payne He made himself, I believe he said, in a past video.
Most of these guys buy from an acrylic or glass company, and just figure out thickness based on water pressure. Expensive though..
I'm so confused. If they were supposed to be born in July, how is being born in September them being premature? Or is he saying it was bred in July and it's still a few weeks out from when it should be born? I don't know the gestation for stingrays so if anyone wants to educate me, that'd be great. Or just explain what I must be misunderstanding. Poor stillborns :(
