【041】Transform Your Bass: 'Runaway Baby' with Slap & Drive

In this video, we present the bass riff from Bruno Mars' "Runaway Baby."
This riff is quite impressive, and we've used a drive effect to enhance it.
Background on the Effect:
When I joined a band as a substitute to perform this song, there was no guitarist. Since this song starts with a guitar intro, I used a drive effect on the bass to kick things off.
Structure:
Playing in a higher register to mimic the guitar sound.
Playing the same riff one octave lower.
Playing the higher register riff with a slap technique.
Playing the lower octave riff with a slap technique.
