Noelle,Thanks for all of the detailed information on junipers. Whether you plant them as a shrub or groundcover they add wonderful color and interest to the landscape.
My favorites being 'Medora' .... ohhh, the unique color on this one! Also, 'Moffat Blue', now talk about a gorgeous silver blue upon a more compact growing specimen, color is very steadfast striking year round! A new one to me is the very tall narrow growing 'Woodward', just planted three of these, they look fantastic!
Evergreens of all kinds especially junipers, cypress, pines, spruces, holly, boxwoods. etc in all of their blue/green splendour are what provide gorgeous winter interest during cold day doldrums. 😎💙💚💨🌲🌳🌨🌪🌬🌫❄☃️⛄
Wish there were more blue J. virginiana varieties available. J. scopulorum looks nice, but they're not heat tolerant. Botanica, the botanical garden in Wichita, has a juniper collection named after the guy who introduced the Wichita Blue juniper (which is a scopulorum). But they actually don't even have a Wichita Blue in the collection because it doesn't really grow well in the Wichita area. J. virginiana can be grown almost anywhere in the US, though.
I absolutely love this channel. I live in Texas, but love all the info you give . I wish someone here in Texas would do the same.

You did a good job but you really did them a great disservice. Junipers are a go to for bonsai and you just dusted right by it.
They are great Bonsai plants! We actually covered them when we did a video on Bonsai a couple years ago. ua-cam.com/video/G0_pq3VUMWQ/v-deo.html

How does blue pacific do as a trailer in a large pot? 8a Atlanta
To get the berries, do you need to plant a male? What would those be called?

Love juniper! But unfortunately it’s only the very spiniest ones that don’t get munched by deer in my yard 😭
