    R.I.P. Joe Ranft, we'll miss you so much. You made the whole world LTBO when you did voices for Disney and Pixar. It's so sad that John Lasseter went on leave for *** scandals. These guys are 🆒, LOL.

      Pixar will never be the same without John Lasseter, Joe Ranft, Andrew Stanton, Pete Docter, Jorgen Klubien, and all the countless other storytellers that made our childhoods so great.

    Let’s ignore the fact that one of them is dead and focus on how brilliant these guys are with creating stories.

    All four of these guys alongside Tom Hanks and Tim Allen (and the rest of the voice over actors and actresses playing the characters), with Randy Newman singing the popular theme song, came together to create this wonderful film called Toy Story, that has changed the way all animated movies are made going forward. It's because of Pixar that we have all of these 3D computer animated films that are still being produced to this day. Thank you so much for making this possible.

    Hearing John Lasseter in this really makes me wish he was still at Pixar. Even though I never met the guy, he was the guy behind all this stuff.

    Lasseter must've had a long night drinking with Josh Cooley when Toy Story 4 came out, congratulating him for letting the franchise go out on a big bang.

    • @jerelminter
      @jerelminter 3 роки тому +9

      It's more along the lines of Josh Cooley running Toy Story into the ground. Pixar ruined Woody's character by having him be replaced by a stupid talking spork, just so he can have his so called happy ending with Bo Peep, and the other characters were given the backseat because of it. Even Buzz Lightyear got stupider, yes I understand he was a stupid character to begin with, but he was never THAT stupid like he is in Toy Story 4. How the hell does he not know what a conscious is ?

    • @buzzytrombone4353
      @buzzytrombone4353 3 роки тому +6

      @@jerelminter The other guys got their happy ending in Toy Story 3 so they didn't have much of a part to play. And with Woody, his problem throughout the four films was that he was always determining his own existence on just being a toy, trying to enforce the idea that being there for a child is the most important thing a toy can do, and that a child will take care of them, and Toy Story 3 showed the audience the ugly truth about that philosophy. The ugly truth being that toys are not human beings like the rest of the world, they're just disposable objects, left to collect dust, or open to being thrown away. Rightfully so, Woody had to face that ugly truth the hard way in Toy Story 4, and that allowed him to let go and start determining his own existence on being who he is, by himself, and not what he was made for.
      And I often saw Buzz's thing in the same light as the Smoches joke from the second film, because him not being familiar with words and phrases is a runner up, and considering how he's always followed different parts of Woody's worldview and respected it, if Woody's going on about being afraid of being tormented by the little voice inside of him if he gives up on Forky, of course Buzz might take it the wrong way and start giving it a go to see what he really means by the little voice inside of him.
      Also the ending would probably be considered an ending for the other toys because they might have a plan for the future for when Bonnie grows up and they feel that their time in the sunlight is done as well.

    • @jerelminter
      @jerelminter 3 роки тому +3

      @@buzzytrombone4353 I understood Woody having a hard time coming to grips with the purpose of his existence because Pixar did it perfectly with Andy in the earlier Toy Story movies, the 3rd movie like you said was the culmination of Woody's acceptance to let his owner move on with his life, which was what the first two movies would predict would happen.
      In Toy Story 4, I think Pixar made Bonnie not care about Woody anymore because they couldn't figure out how to incorporate Bo Peep into the story. So they just went back and retconned everything they established earlier just to force Woody out of the story. If Buzz and the gang already had their happy ending, then there was no need to shoehorn them into the story.
      By the way I still think Buzz was dumb, and I hate to say that because he's my favorite Toy Story character and it's a shame to see him be reduced to this.

      @@jerelminter I felt they fucked him over in Toy Story 3 because he could’ve added something more to Woody’s journey back to Andy’s if he was put in the college box with him.

      @@buzzytrombone4353 Yes Andy giving Woody away to Bonnie was a bad idea in hindsight, because in Toy Story 4 she didn't give a damn about him at all.

    Well I had some immature responses to my comment, although I note they did not post it here but privately. Not to worry that type of response represents the shallow minded.
    Obviously I ow an explanation for my comment. Back in the early 90's I was involved in two projects. The first was with Andy Wilman (Top Gear) the second with a team
    working an HD shoot, that team become Pixar. So for clarity, the projects I put forward were Top Gear and Pixar.
    They proved to be a huge success, my contribution was ignored yhen forgotten. In 2000 I tried again, only this time I based the scripts on a true storyline failing to share that detail with Jorgen Klubien. Jorgen introduced Cars to Pixar. Jumping forward, I communicated this detail to James Kennedy in 05, I let him know my part in all of this. I read him the script/plot for Ratatouille in 2005, read it to Disney's lead council. Both Jorgen Klubien and Jan Pinkava were gone. John Lasseter, was never there, definitely he did not create Cars. However Cars created Pixar. These four heroes went along for the ride. Today both Top Gear and Pixar stumble along. That makes me both Happy and proud that it lacks something without me. John of course grows grapes, tasting then blending wine. I hear he has found his vocation. In his hands it was over before it began.
