I may be 27 years old but I'll never be old enough for these films :)
so... do u have a disorder where u can't grow past 1 month old?
@@dylankozak14yearsagoedited57 no I don't have any disorders at all but you seem to be having a spelling disorder
I'm 47 years old.. and I also love these films :))
@@dylankozak14yearsagoedited57 why are you so mean these films are for everyone
I love the Toy Story movies. I'm never too old for cartoons.
No matter how many times you watch the movie you will never ever get tired of watching it
A year ago was the first time in nearly 10 years that I watched it. A thing of beauty indeed
having steve jobs pete josh whedon john andrew lee and joel all working together is magic..that helped...
and you're forgetting that this movie was made years ago in 1995 in fact shit was way different then it is now you cant just ask someone to play a role and expect them to play as said character when most of these people are busy as hell and have other roles and or movies or just regular everyday life stuff to do you never know and money is a big part as well
@@stevenuniverse2647How come the Second Movie is the best after the First Movie?.
Toy Story really is something special and there's a reason it remains a classic. I'm 34 and have a 2.5 year old son, an 11 yr old stepdaughter and a 13 yr old stepson and they all love watching the Toy Story movies. What a wonderful legacy the guys at Pixar have created and will leave.
That letter that John read really got me in the feels!
I’ll be 28 on Tuesday. I’m single still live with my parents and Toy Story hasn’t lost much of its magic
@@manuelorozco7760 the Story was created in 1995,the Second Story was 1999,Third Story was 2010 and Fourth Story was in 2019.
@@MiguelRodriguez-dk2ds What’s your point?
Toy Story will always be one of my favourite franchises ever!!
The two best scenes in the entire franchise:
1) In the first one, when Woody and Buzz shake hands, signifying the beginning of their friendship!
2) In the second one, where Woody says that even after Andy outgrows him, he will have old Buzz Lightyear to keep him company, for infinity and beyond!
Yes, this scene in the second one ALWAYS makes me cry
@@lukessoundhouse9903 I’m 28 and I cry at that bit...sadly in number 4 it seems that statement meant nothing 😭
@@MrIGHOSH1 exactly
For me, this number 4 doesn't exist, they destroyed all values from the original movies
@@lukessoundhouse9903 yeah I definitely liked 4 the least purely cause they made Woody and Buzz separate 😭
Low kea almost teard up on thos parts
"TO MY" CHILDHOODDD "AND BEYONDDD!" It's so awesome to dive into our awesome playtime anniversary. Stay safe everyone!
I remember watching this special on ABC over five years ago. I was 22. Toy Story is one of my favorite animated movies of all time. I like that Woody was made more likable over the course of story development. What my 3 year old self didn’t know was I was seeing a work of pure innovation. Seeing filmmaking grow to infinity and beyond! A buddy comedy sure was rare in animation back then. And my favorite studio on Earth was born. I wish I was there at the El Capitan premiere to see the look on everyone’s faces. And I agree with Jon Faverau about Pixar
I was 14 when I watched the special on ABC on fall 2015. (I was born in '01). I'm glad they covered the Black Friday reel part because it seriously almost killed Toy Story and its production :)
@@brycefourn2001 I never thought it that way
@manuelorozco7760 Not gonna lie. When I first found out about the Black Friday reel in 2015 via a behind-the-scenes video, I remember having this deja vu feeling. I might've seen it before at a young age, but I didn't understand what it was about. It's probably a good thing that I didn't.
Part of me wishes that Pixar would release the full Black Friday reel, but they might still be too humiliated to reveal it to the public.
@@brycefourn2001 If they have that fear I understand
@manuelorozco7760 Maybe they don't want to ruin their reputation completely. But that's just me
This and the Pixar Story felt so magicial to watch. Almost like their building was a playground for animators.
I'm almost a 30 years old man now and this story made me cry so many times I'm unable to count. I remember when I was a little kid, I've dreamed about having such deep and beautiful bond with someone, just like Woody and Buzz had. And here we are, 20 years later. Me and a girl I shared my desk at school with. She turned out to be Woody to my Buzz. I love her to infinity and beyond.
I'm lucky to have been alive to experience the pop culture phenomenon that Toy Story was at the time when it was released. My favorite character from the start was Buzz Lightyear because he was so cool with the fancy gadgets with the wings and the SWOOSH sound effect that his helmet made with the catchphrases and the blinking LED light. Then when I got older and watched Toy Story again as an adult, it was so funny how Buzz refused to acknowledge his existence as a toy and believed himself to be a real superhero character. Buzz really thought he could do what his TV or movie counterpart could do, despite Woody telling him he can't LOL !!!
This is a wonderful documentary I love toy story when I was a kid
Pete Doctor is a genius.
My favorite of his movies he directed is Inside Out
In my opinion, all of the films he’s directed so far are masterpieces.
@@manuelorozco7760 And now he's written the Lightyear movie - It's going to be amazing!!
@@SevenEllen I know right. I have been hyped since Investor Day last December
It was late ‘95 early ‘96. I went and saw it at a cinema in the western suburbs of Sydney called Penrith Hayden Cinemas.I still remember how I was blown away by the opening scene with Andy and the opening theme. The way It looked was amazing and no matter how far the Pixar movies went it’s still great to watch.
Can you believe that next year there will be a movie about the “real” buzz Lightyear.
Great work guys!
That movie just came out.
I remember watching this when I was 9 5 years ago in 2015. Watching it, while recording it on my Dvr. Now I’m 14.
I was 22
Great documentary on the greatest animated film ever made. Shame that John Lasseter had to ruin his own career with the excessive "unwanted hugs."
Lasseter used to be my idol. I did not take finding out that he was also one of "those" people well AT ALL (as in I had an honest-to-god meltdown), though obviously it's nothing compared to the people who actually had to feel unsafe while working with him. There's a reason that one of the ten commandments is "no false gods."
@@gabe_s_videos he’s still my idol I don’t believe in that stuff
@@Merylcaine You do that.
He thought of him as the Uncle Walt of our time
@@manuelorozco7760 can you explain more
Will always be in my heart

Toy Story was a big part of my childhood, cause I would watch it over and over without getting tired of it, as well as the other sequels and still to this day I would watch it and enjoy it as I did when I was a child. Much love Pixar and Disney
In 2015, I saw an exhibit of original Toy Story drawings in the SFO.
Never mentioned Billy Crystal and how he was going to originally be Buzz. Nice.
And how they couldn't afford Jim Carrey

I was 18 when this documentary came on ABC, and I loved every minute of it! 😃 "Toy Story" has been a part of my life since I was born, along with Disney and Pixar, and I cherish every moment of its magic! 😊
This movie is a treasure. Takes me right back to my childhood, and makes me think of the 90s lol. Love it so much 🥺
The favorite scenes from Tom's and Tim's are when they scream at each other from their characters. Like I thought tom’s favorite scene is you are a toy, And Tim's favorite scene would be the can. But then it's the opposite LOL
I love these types of documentaries.
Thank you Team for making our childhood better and awesome❤️
This is an amazing documentary on the making of Pixar's classic first film ever. I actually like Randy Newman's songs, they r great especially I Will Go Sailing, No More

I think that I enjoy this because it is important to my childhood especially the third movie which was surprisedly dark due to its plot. woody One of my fav parts is when woods made a speech to buzz saying he is special although he has this existential crisis that he is a toy.

Every single toy story movie from first to fourth has too unrealistic moments
TS1 the alien toys talking to buzz without being scared of getting caught.
TS2 every airport scene and all's toy barn scene without toys being scared of getting caught.
TS3 toys came to life in the daycare and there was cameras
TS4 same reasons with toy story 2.
