The past I don't know how many years has been one success story after another by Boss, bringing out ground-breaking, innovative guitar gear that not only solves common problems for modern guitarists, but also gives completely new options to experiment and experience. This Tone Bender is a love letter to guitarists by Boss, how a company that started as making cheap, good sounding mass produced pedals so every guitarist could afford good sounds, now making a run of honest vintage sounding boutique pedals. I'm happy to see where Boss is headed, exploring different areas. Boutique pedals are nothing new, but a mass manufacturing company that has sworn on reliability, doing a germanium transistor fuzz is exciting. My first pedal was a Boss SD-1, a guitar store guy recommended it to my dad. I couldn't have been luckier. It's still my go to drive and I still love the sound after almost 20 years. And it's practically free despite lasting forever and sounding good. ありがとうございます、よしさん！
With this I am regarding boss the grand daddy of all pedal manufacturers Visualization and creating the classics at exact specs is a note worthy task and boss nailed it without a doubt Hatts of Boss you are the next level thing.
Thank you Yoshi/Boss for continuing to innovate while also keeping the classics alive! This is a very cool addition to the boss line. I've built a couple germanium pedals and they are very very difficult to make consistently since they are so unpredictable. I have a lot of respect for anyone who can produce these pedals in larger numbers since matching transistors is such a difficult process to replicate. But I'm very glad you took on the challenge Yoshi!
It would have been so easy for Boss to just make a competitor pedal or poach business. Yoshi and Boss instead instead said we admire and respect your history, we want to partner and expand on it. Very admirable in today's business culture.
The legendary company making legendary stuff! This is great. Next time, I would LOVE to see other iconic pedals like Phaser PH1r and Flanger BF2 as new additions into the Waza Craft series. All the best, BOSS, and merry Christmas to you all! :)

The heart of my pedalboard set-up is an original Boss ME-5 (1988) - the MIDI out controls 2 Eventide H9s. Boss stands the test of time.
I will buy it 100%, tone bender fuzz is my favourite fuzz tone! Incredible collaboration. We need more of this legendary collaborations like Chase Bliss and Zvex this year. As JHS said, there was never a better time to be a guitar player!

Nailed it! I have been waiting for this tone. I really hope I am able to get one. IMO Boss need to do more of this kind of thing because the physicality of Boss pedals is perfect. Great to get some boutique tones in a practical format with Boss level durability.

The new HM-2 waza should be like the angry charlie with the HM-3 built in. Concentric tone controls so you can set the tone on each one of the pedals. and then you can choose to use one or the other or blend in parallel or cascade in series either way.
I’m one of the unlucky ones, who didn’t know about this at the time and paid $700 (free shipping and no tax) for one. It’s really only $325 more than they sold for new, and I could’ve easily blown that $325 on 2-3 other pedals that I won’t have to buy now.

The more $200 trust fund hipster made ‘boutique’ pedals I buy, am disappointed with and subsequently have to end up selling at a loss, the more I start to realize just how awesome larger companies like Roland and Dunlop are. Everything they make does what it says, and they’re tested properly so you know they’ll have a usable sound through any amp. Some extremely popular Boutique makers seem to be irresponsibly testing stuff through like only 1 amp before shipping, so it sounds like trash through anything brighter or darker that the customer might own.
