I've always been amazed at how these guys break some traffic rules and nothing stops them. I mean, I do it all the time on my bike in Bogotá, Colombia :) but they're in NYC!! HAHAHAHA ... love you, guys!
I hardly ever saw one use a smaller width on the bar, fut the logics in traffic suits it for sure. I think I saw such widths on foldable bikes, but wow. My compliments on the riding done here. I loved watching this. Just the red light runs are a bit...well... Still amazing to watch though!
Tbh, I do lowkey agree with people that get mad at their unsafe practices, and even breaking some laws. But you still have to have tons of respect for these guys, their guts, but specially their skill and service.
back in the day when i was working for Mess Kollective, it was me and one other person handling the whole city which turned out to be a really crazy day! i dont know how many people Aias got working for MK nowadays

I suppose if you were driving without brakes, then the accident insurance wouldn't cover much. In fact, the insurers probably won't pay for anything at all.
@@thefinn6969I think they would argue breaks are a display of lack of handling skill as they have ways to break via back pedaling, skidding, etc...essentially, within the fixed gear community it probably isn't considered "cool'.
@@801oap I believe how cool it is to have good reflexes, but pedestrians don't always have them, and if you bump into one, they could hit their head and remain permanently disabled or die, then that's not cool in my opinion. Seeing so many instances of this really depends on luck most of the time. I guess instead of coffee, the cyclist stimulates themselves with something else, that's why they're so daring.
Id bet I could give you a ebike that can hit 40mph with throttle and you would still get smoked by a novice bike messenger on a fixie in NY from point a to b. Those guys dont play.
