    Hello, I am writing you from Japan. From what I have seen you are the master.Works of Art and Electrical and Mechanical Engineering. I also remember my days, in New Bern, and Jacksonville. NC is a great place to live. I will subscribe and continue to watch your videos. I am now 60 yrs old but I appreciate seeing that there are people still in this world that spend their time teaching well worth lessons.

    Just at the end a couple of questions:
    1. what are the vacuum pumps for?
    2. how did you handle the recharging of the 12 V battery?
    3. how did you handle car heating (and cooling if you did it)?
    4. how did you handle amplification for stearing and breaks (if you did it)?

    Awesome! Can you please share what to expect for a price range for a conversion? I am thinking to convert my 1988 Merkur Scorpio.

    @1:28 that's Philippines' owner type Jeep. Or we called it FPJ jeep after the Filipino actor, the late Fernando Poe Jr. (hence FPJ) used this vehicle in most of his movies.
    They are converting that to electric?

    Hi from the UK. I want to convert my 1963 220seb saloon / sedan (very similar running gear to the SL). Restoring the body first and sorting what I need to keep and what I can dispose of. How does the cab heating work when you convert to an EV? Of course at the moment it is through the heater matrix on water. The mercs have his and hers controls on each side too. Please can somebody explain? Also on the SL, what gear box and rear axle did it end up with? I know it had the V8 in it before the conversion . Real nice conversion and love the way you take your time to explain the details, can`t wait to do the fintail.

      As far as the heating is concerned, check out this video.

      In regards to the transmission and differential, we used what was in the vehicle and I do not know the ratios.
      Thanks for watching.

    First I appreciate the level of expertise in the execution of this conversion. Unfortunately the before and after evaluation is biased. They report the before power with the original 2.3 OEM 6 cylinder engine but report the before weight with a 5.0 Ford V8 conversion engine. Bad reporting does not reflect well on EV4U.

    • @ev4u
      @ev4u  5 років тому

      We wanted to make the comparison between the stock 230SL and not the highly modified version we received. The 5.0 Ford was modified and we do not have the specs. on it. The bias is true, and we made it no secret. The owner (not the one that installed the Ford engine) did not like the way the car drove with the V8. I agreed, it was fun for a short while, but way too radical for an enjoyable daily driver. To each his on.

    Did I miss something? What is the general range when it is fully charged? You say you drove "hundreds" of miles. So you must have some idea. Is there a problem with sharing that simple info? It makes the video sound like a "hide the ball" teaser.
    It looks like this sort of conversion would really work very well on a Mercedes W108.

    • @ev4u
      @ev4u  11 місяців тому

      The general range was eighty miles on this vehicle back in 2017. I do not recommend the motor used in this conversion for the W108 due to the weight. Please direct questions to info@EV4Unow.com Thank you for watching.
