That noise in the background sounds like those typewriter noises like in those tv news programs from the 1980s and probably 1970s ( I wasn't born yet so I'm not sure if that's where it started) or a diesel engine chattering away.
@@chaseman94 That's just white noise... old tv's would sound like that inbetween channels, and microphones that have been gain too much or are cheap sounds like that - typewriters sound much more mechanical. 16:20 We had a 2 player setup for Stadium Cross at our local mall arcade growing up. The controls was the whole motorbike. You had to seriously lean the entire bike body into your turns and you could pull back and lean the bike back for more air on jumps. It was awesome.

@@HaroldoPinheiro-OK What's REALLY sad is that Capcom REALLY should have gotten the rights to do a Sailor Moon arcade game instead of Banpresto which would allow it to run on Capcom CPS-2 hardware and allow up to 3 players and have a really cool continue screen like Final Fight.
Damn Joe, you did it. I watched every single Game Sack episode ever released, and this one is the first time you covered ONLY games that I never played/knew that existed. Impressive, still finding unknown stuff after so much time.
Back in the day so of arcades and before the Internet, it was always a treat to stop by the local arcade and discover new games. You never knew what you were going to get.
The Sailor Moon beat 'em up is fascinating. By all accounts the game is unfinished. Tons of stuff is in the ROM either finished or partially finished, but disabled. I'd love to see someone like WayForward get this somehow and finish it off.
Huh, didn't know that. Though, even if it were finished, the cheap difficulty is a turn-off. With a rebalance and non-cheap toy piano music, it could be amazing.
That explains the music. Sounds like Seiichi Sakurai probably had 15 mins to make the ost, with no prep time to compose anything, so just went on a jazz odyssey XD
Nice Raiden t-shirt! I'll forever love the music from the first stage of Raiden II (and of course: the purple plasma laser which loops & flips all over the screen).
I'd totally ask for a home port of a game like CarnEvil. But realized a lot of them are shorter than 20 mins. To bring them home would most likely warrant a lengthier game or complete remake. It's kinda why I'd rather buy certain games in compilations than individually
All these atomiswave games can now be played on your dreamcast like the pigskin American football game! Even light gun games with light gun support are available!

Thanks for still putting out gamesack! It's a highlight anytime I see it pop up! It's so well produced! Absolutely amazing!! Thanks for the continued quality content!!
One game that never came home and was overlooked by this episode was the grid by Midway. Absolutely top-notch title, well ahead of its time, guaranteed would still do good today. Great episode, still looking forward to knowing where that super Advantage with the stock SNES buttons came from
I definitely miss the prevalence of arcades. From what I recall I never had a bad experience playing any given game with a random person (either co-op or 1v1), it was always a blast. Great work as always!
Especially that sweet theme that plays on on level seven (and level one on the Japanese version) sung by Simon Masato (vocalist for the themes of Kamen Rider, Ultraseven, etc.)
I'm not sure if they were covered in a previous episode, but you should check out some of these that were never released outside of arcades: 1. The Main Event (Konami, 1988) 2. The Deep / Run Deep (Wood Place Inc., 1987) 3. Mocap Boxing (Konami, 2001)
the comically long bend in the video game collection skit threw me for a second, so many subtle touches too regarding how Joe treats the SNES games vs anything Sega, loved it.
Great episode Joe! It is a shame that Monster Maulers hasn't came home yet. Dolphin Blue looks best on a high res (24khz) monitor like that in a Naomi cabinet. Its a great game for sure! These are some of my favorite videos that come out with. Thanks!
For some reason I find the end skit of this episode to be extremely comfy. If it were a whole series, I'd fall asleep to them under a thick blanket with my cat at my side.
The scene in Monster Maulers with the Salamander music is great because you're fight the first stage boss FROM SALAMANDER, I LOVE IT!! :) Great episode!!
Been watching for a couple years, ( since the Joe and Dave days) and always loved the sense of humor. Thank you for bring consistent entertainment throughout the years; as well as teaching me about games I had no idea about. Much love from Los Angeles
Dolphin Blue looks like it might've been a Metal Slug game at some point in development, as the gameplay is similar and a few of the developers from the Metal Slug games worked on this, as well as SNK Playmore having ties to the company. Never heard of this game until now, though. Very interesting.
That football game looks almost the same as NFL Blitz on the PS1, so at least we got something like it for a home console. Good times tackling a receiver with the ball in the air and continuously switching players to make everyone on your team jump on a guy after a play.
I really love Monster Mauler. Love that it was mentioned :) Quick tip: Just like many Konami arcades of that era, you gotta get the gamma to a higher level and give a real contrast to the those dimmed colors.
That’s why I bought Monster Maulers back in 1995, because it was so super awesome and there wasn’t a port in sight. Still have it to this very day. One of the few PCBs I had that I still hold on it.
