Yeh, Ive been the cheap guy in nice neighborhood, took me a while to get out of that customer base. Never offer 50% discount again, you’ll make the customers doubt you.
Never power wash that house again. I’m not even in the business and I’d say $350.ish. Min. That’s a nice house in nice sub-division. Location, location, location. People in these areas have money. Isn’t the job costs: travel time, actual job time, fuel. That was like a 2 hour job. Don’t know if you have web site, before and after photos are great. (? Practice, when you have no jobs, maybe local at non-profit type location discounted rate, you then post your lawn signs and photos on web site.)
This dude has money. Very nice house and yet he was asking the "old lady" if it's alright at half or $150?! Ya, get someone else to wash it. There's dirty houses everywhere. If you're passionate about clean and you have a smile and positive attitudes - then go approach a dirty house, knock on the door and say: "You have a nice place here and I'd love the opportunity to make it sparkle. I can wash it up for XXXX" and see what they say. If no then go to the next and the next. You will get the no's - just be relentless and pull the levers on the "no's" as fast as possible. Let guys like this twist in the wind.
IMO, you have to know your worth. You don't want to be known as the cheap guy. All the neighbors are gonna want that same price. You don't want to compete on price. You want to compete on value. IMO, you're better off going out and knocking on doors than working for nothing. You're in this to make money, and you're gonna have breakdowns and unexpected expenses come up, and if you don't charge appropriately, you will be out out of business. Keep hustling!!
Keep fighting, it will all come together. My dealership said a 30” surface cleaner for my 5gpm 3000psi honda gx390 is the fit…. Doesn’t that seem off??? Only reason I am asking is the hope for you to of used a 5gpm before thanks for you’re time !!
Thanks landon! I have always heard 4" for every GPM your pressure washer puts out, so in your case 5GPM X 4" = 20" surface cleaner... I could be wrong! But I would definitely go smaller and have to be more powerful. The worst would be getting too big and having trouble cleaning, defeats the purpose.
Dude! You are awesome! I absolutely love your videos.
Thanks, Mike! I love your channel as well!!

If you reach for more than you deserve, you'll be out of business before long too.
Thanks Brad! I appreciate it, you're right. This one was a learning lesson
good point! it's a balance. supply and demand

That should be a 3000 psi at 4 gpm machine. So either somebody told you wrong, you heard wrong, or the machine is over revved.
