@@mikecavossa6450 water moves through out the cooling system per normal then goes through jackets in the exhaust where exhaust and water exit at the collector.
Boat mechanic here. Yep this is a boat engine. That water coming out of the exhaust is cooling the exhaust. This engine has 2 water pumps. 1 pump for the coolant, and 1 pump for the raw water. We call it raw water because it comes from the body of water your boat is in. Coolant flows thru the engine normally and the raw water flows thru certain parts of the engine, for instance this engine has a fuel cooler, a heat exchanger (raw water cools the coolant like a radiator) and flows thru the exhaust keeping that cooler than your trucks exhaust. The water gets mixed at the elbow at the end of the exhaust there on the engine. Stainless steel exhaust like this is expensive as as hell and holds more heat than cast iron exhaust elbows, which typical on most boats. Hopefully they changed the raw water pump for more gpm going into the system. This is a massive gas engine to put in a boat. I imagine it's for a cigarette boat or something that has a high hull speed. You can't just drop in a bigger engine into a boat and expect a huge performance increase because hull design will determine your safest top speed on the water. Basically I'm saying more hull in the water the slower you go. Just look at those high performance race boats compared to say a motor yacht. This monster is going have a high performance out attached to it as well. Those hp outdrives are machined to blueprint specs to handle the internal pressures of the gear oil, probably running 90 weight oil in the outdrive. And this isn't running rich for this engine. It's a remnant of the 1970's drug smuggling culture in Florida. In those days the Colombians would park a freighter 17 miles off the Florida coast, (Miami, Tampa and Jacksonville) loaded with Cocaine and Marijuana, mostly Marijuana in the 70's, and local drug dealers would have a cigarette boat with a high horsepower big-block engine that could make the boat go 70 mph on the open ocean and go buy their load of dope at a very low price, and ferry it back to the mangroves where they would have a small canal cut going into their house.
