  • Let's go driving on Mauritius. Special "Slow TV" episode. Driving in Mauritius for the first time can be a challenge for a visitor coming from a European country or USA. Here is left hand traffic and the behavior is different from a disciplined driving style that you can find in more develop countries. Follow on a 25 min long journey in a Kia EV6 and get some tips and tricks of what to expect on the roads. Since all cars have the steering wheal on the right side automatic or an electric car is to recommend since it can be very tricky to adapt to a gear shift to the left if you are not used to drive on the left side of the road. Traffic can be quite chaotic with cars parked randomly, people walking on the street and loose dogs running around. Driving in the dark is even more tricky since Mauritians have the habit to turn on the light on the car very late after sunset. Enjoy the beautiful nature and get to know driving habits on this island in in the Indian Ocean.

Hi, nice drive. What time of day was this taken? Peak or off peak traffic? I'm in the UK so driving on the left is usual and road markings look similar. There was a speed limit sign, is this kph or mph?
