I came here to comment after realising you haven't uploaded in a while, as a biker who spends a lot of time in Central London i tend to think the worst when another biker disappears. Seeing your other replies has calmed my fears, I hope you're doing well and feeling fulfilled with the things keeping you away from UA-cam 👍
Ive actually only ever zoned out when its been silent, i find music even at a low volume stops this. Specially on a commute you do every day where it can be easy to get complacent. I will pause if I need to concentrate on some tight filtering, I suppose its a time and place thing. Oh and I love some Die Antwoord, Fatty Boom Boom on my way home.
Hope to see a new video soon. Found your videos last year when I began my riding journey and was so inspired by your calm and encouraging content. I based my choice of the Z400 largely on your opinions as my first bike! Let us know if you’ve moved to another platform. Wishing you safe travels on two wheels!
Ah thanks so much. I hope you're liking the z400. I've just been super busy with work for the past few months and got out of the habit of making videos. But maybe when things quiet down I'll get back into it :)
Do alot of motorway commuting. With some good earplugs it's quiet and on a late night empty road, it gets really boring, especially if it's just the sound of the wind you're hearing. So thanks to speakers, there's alot of singing going on in my helmet haha
Needing to hear the click of a car door is wild lol On the first like 3-4 driving lessons i remember talking was quite distracting, especially on the first lesson i could barely talk and drive at all... but as someone who listens to music literally about 90% of the time, and i like to have it loud enough so i cant hear anything at all. I dont believe for a second that you need to be able to hear anything on the road. You just need to be more aware with your eyes And that doesnt just apply to driving. Even on call of duty for example, a game that is widely concidered a game you need clear audio on to be good at. I started playing with just music at some point, and i actually do even better. You just adapt to being more careful with your eyes. Trusting your ears too much is actually a liability, more than an advantage. Coming from someone who used to peddle bike a lot, listen to music all the time, and then had a car for only a month before getting a motorbike, i had absolutely no issues adapting to a bike. I was comfortable within 10 minutes without even doing my cbt. So my point, it simply comes down to the person at the end of the day. For you maybe it took 4 months for it to feel safe. For others, it might just take a day or less. But it is absolutely safe if you're comfortable and confident to do so
Apple AirPods Pro 2 are perfect as they have the pass through function so you hear what’s outside and it dims high noises so you don’t go deaf over time
earned my sub! i play music but not very loud. turn it down when you reach a town. good visuals and peripherals with plenty of life savers and sound arround you wont be essential. happy riding
Hey! Such informative and well sounded videos! Super important information and subjects! As a new rider(girl), wishing to have more and more videos from you! Just two things I had noticed, that will help me(mb somebody else too) better to get info from you is: 1) It will be more comfortable to hear your speech being a bit slower 2) to go more deep in subjects and to make longer videos! With more details/tips/examples/exercises/or your thoughts Thank you!!
I listen to music using Plugfones, but I do not have the music so loud that I can not hear the vehicles around me. Plugfones also provide hearing protection from the wind, and you can also hear your music while traveling.
good talking point, i only listen to satnav not been riding that long so i feel to much going on to start listening music🤣 but like everything with a bike its all about riding your own ride and being happy 😄 love the video as usual keep them coming 🤭 kev
I find music helps me focus. Holding a conversaation, though? *That's* distracting. Maybe the sound quality is the distracting thing? Or maybe it's the kind of music you like vs the kind I like? I don't have one favourite song. The last two bands' albums I had on were Ultravox and Chvrches.
The sound quality is probably the biggest distraction for me. I can't wait to try some proper custom earplugs. I think I've heard of Chvrches. I wonder if you'll like this: open.spotify.com/track/3u6PxWema1snbjLbFEyjkJ?si=dx-Um-HPRWmeA7kTZSVeuA
hay just wondering if all is ok no new videos in a few months so was looking to see if i missed some but they has been nothing . hope all is ok and we get new vids soon :)
Yeah all good, just been really busy. Not sure if I'll get back to making videos soon or not. I'll have to have a dig through and see what footage I have
Nice one👍👍yes I agree music on the motorway is fine or on a roads. But only after a year of riding get used to the bike and all the other noises. Don’t want to be patronising but I wouldn’t of filtered on the inside that van could of steered into the curb if something had happened on the other side of the road. Just saying 😂🤣😂🤣ride safe
@@ayserides I know we need more cycle paths. But the trouble is will the cyclists actually use them, because where I live they don’t 🤣😂🤣😂anyway I didn’t want to sound like your dad even though I’m old enough, just want you to be careful and safe. 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
Since you called it "lane splitting" im going to assume you're from the US. In the UK "filtering" is very legal and expected. Theres not much risk involved in stopping behind the lead car, in front of a professional London bus driver who is very used to looking out for motorcyclists. Thanks for taking the time
❤ ok fair enough just checking in on you 😂 I didn’t know wher to write so thought best was your last video 😊 Take care see you in your next one! Safe ride and stay healthy Kev

Agreed, never listened to anything, you need to concentrate 100% and use ALL your senses

Negative. Ear protection to reduce wind noise but nothing else as you need to be aware of your surroundings and not distracted.
I agree

Not for me, just use earbuds for directions mostly.
P.s Mod2 passed🎉
Congrats!
@@ayserides 👍👍👍
Well done 👍

@ayserides. Does your z400 starts moving when you release the clutch without any throttle? I just bought mine and was wondering if its normal.
If I hold it at the biting point then it will move. If I let the clutch out completely with no throttle it will stall
@@ayserides mine doesn't stall if I let go of the clutch completely.
Sounds like your clutch might not be adjusted properly
@@ayserides my clutch lever has free play of 2.65 millimeters which is within what owners manual recommended. Should I loosen it or tighten it?

Frankly in 9 seconds you are lane splitting - If you want to offer some advice, I recommend removing risky guidance.
