Their tour bus was parked right outside the venue so you can see the band and crew walk from their bus into the venue and vice versa. I like to show up to venues extremely early, to make sure I get a spot at the rail and to get a chance to meet the band. One of my favourite bands of all time. I didn't know they went through all that trouble with their former manager. Their music has helped me through a lot of tough times, and good times too. They deserve all the good that shines down on them
Shine was the reason I finally got into playing guitar. Have always loved them and Ed has been one of the two biggest influences on me, musically. I've seen them multiple times, and the first was the most special. I had just moved to the city and was unable to get a ticket as it was sold out. I went to their autograph signing to at least get my Dosage CD signed. In doing so, and talking with the band, Will asked me if I was going to be at the show. I said unfortunately not and explained why. He asked for my name and left two tickets for me at the door. It was so surreal and an amazing experience. It was also my first"real" concert given I had just moved here from a small town. Since then, I've seen them five more times, met them two additional times during that, and have one of my acoustic guitars signed by the band. Mostly worn off now, but it's the memory that matters most.
When I was learning guitar in the mid 90s, Collective Soul was a huge inspiration to me also… he was definitely an underrated riff writer, his riffs were so fun to learn and play….
Collective Soul is/was a great band. Have a lot of memories of their music growing up as a kid in the late 90s. All four of their albums they released in the 90s were awesome.
I was in my mid-thirties by the time Collective Soul came along, and they were a breath of fresh air. One of the few bands worth listening to at the time.
I'm 72, grew up loving 60's & 70's rock n' roll. When Collective Soul came on to the scene in the 90's I was blown away....What? Straight forward rock and roll in the 90's?
I really liked a few of their singles back in the 90's (when I was in my 20's) but it wasn't until 2014 that I checked out some of their songs that didn't get radio play. I was checking out a new living room amplifier. It was the first time I had ever spent serious $$ on an amp and I was pretty impressed by how big/clean power changed the sound of my system. A friend of mine came over that day and brought some music along...he handed me the "Dosage" CD...and that was it. It was a head smacker..."how did I miss out on this band for my entire adult life?" Dosage blew me away...cool sound, cool tunes and superb recordings. In the next few weeks, I owned all Collective Soul albums. Another unique gem from the South. They are one of my favorites to this day.
I used to listen to the Dosage album start to finish when I was in my 20s working in a warehouse. One of the few discs I didnt have to take out and change in the primitive times we lived before MP3 players!

I saw them play here where I am last September. During the song December, he came out into the crowd and my Wife ended up hugging him during the song lol It was a fantastic show. Loved every minute of it. Its a band that nobody realizes that they know a lot of their songs
"The World I Know" came out when I was in high school, and to this day is one of my favorite songs. It spoke to me then, and still does. I love the balance between the 12 string acoustic, electric guitar, violins and cellos, with Ed's rich, dynamic vocals-it's absolutely perfect. Collective Soul helped shape me during my formative years in the mid-late 90's more than most. I also got to see a small private show by Collective Soul in 2015 at a company event in the Grand America Hotel in SLC, Utah (one of our employees is a close friend of Ed's). All the comments about Ed and his bandmates being kind and down to earth are absolutely true. They could have easily played a handful of songs and been on their way-but instead, they played every single hit and then some with the same energy they would for a sold out stadium. They even invited one of my co-workers up on stage to play drums for one of their songs, and another co-worker yelled out that he "knew how to play cowbell," so they brought him up and gave him something to hit like a cowbell for the entire song. We need more people in the industry like these guys.
About 10 yrs ago I was driving to the store in my truck in Rockford, IL. and for some reason the end chords to "The World I Know" were dancing around in my head. I soon turned on the radio, 93XRT Chicago and those exact end chords were playing. There IS a God!😀
One of the best live bands I've ever seen. I love all of their records, Vibrating (2022) is one of my favorites. Hope to see them on the road again soon.
When I was in college, I first heard the song "run" on my friend's computer. And I immediately fell in love with the band Collective Soul from that moment on. The song "run" had become a kind of "national" song at that time among students, 😆. For me, this band is more than just a work of art, for some reason the lyrics of their songs are very strong and influence people's views depending on their mood. I love you CS... Keep making music...

Saw them live in 1998. I've seen many bands live... Metallica, Pink Floyd, Iron Maiden, Bob Dylan, etc. Seeing CS live in 1998 is one of my top 3 favorite lives shows of all time
LOVE CS! Such a great band. Beautiful melodies, personal, thought-provoking lyrics and good energy. They have 4 platinum albums yet always seem overlooked and forgotten. Got to see them live- finally, around 10 years ago. Ed's an awesome frontman and they sounded great. Newest album, Vibrating, is really good and like a long-lost 90's album of theirs.
My parents always listened to collective soul when I was growing up. They were a big band of my childhood. Finally saw them live earlier this year. Awesome show!

Probably seen them 20 times. One of my all time favorite bands.
I’ve been listening to Collective Soul since the beginning and have all their albums. I wouldn’t call the my favorite band but enjoy the music. AYTA is a great pop rock song!
When they started their Dosage Tour, first stop I was security for the concert in Milwaukee, Wi. I already bought the CD because I loved the song "Run". And I knew the owner of the theater and got in to see them Free, again because I was security...well one of them. It was GREAT!!
They're criminally underrated. The band has put out some incredible tracks, many of which were never released as singles. Their library peaked with Dosage, but there are some gems to be found after. They still put on a solid show and they're so infectiously positive when you see them, it's hard not to walk out of the venue with a smile.
Saw them over the summer (2023) in San Diego. Awesome venue. They’ve had their lineup changes over the years but damn, they can still put on a great show.
"Up Around the Bend" was the song that made me decide to pickup a guitar, but Collective Soul's first 2 albums were my source material to learn how to play 🥰🥰🥰
We saw Collective Soul a couple years ago with 3 Doors Down and Soul Asylum. They ended their set with the song RUN, which my wife had never heard before. She nearly cried. My wife wanted to initially go because of 3DD, but she left a huge fan of Collective Soul. I already was. Great band, great show.
Funny enough, an old girlfriend of mine used to make fun of me for loving Collective Soul. One day I emailed (in the early days of email) her a "poem." She wrote me back and said that it made her cry because the poem was so poignant. That's when I told her that the poem was the lyrics to the CS song, "Run." She felt kind of duped, but became a CS fan after that.
I watched them live in 2001 at the Sun City Super Bowl in South Africa to a packed house (6000 capacity venue), then saw them again live in 2006 at The Manchester Academy in the UK in front of maybe 400 people...that was surreal...both times they absolutely smashed it though!
Everyone has that random band that they love, and mine is Collective Soul. I was in my teens when they were popular and have loved them ever since. Whenever they're in the area I do my best to try and catch a show - they can still rock it. Great pop rock song writing, killer harmonies and catchy hooks. What else do you need?
Saw them this summer for the first time! Free show at our summer exhibition… thousands of people there. Absolutely amazing! They rocked hard & the sound quality was superb. Fantastic live show!
Collective Soul was of its time . When most alternative rock groups of their era were grim and depressing; it was a novel idea to become the grunge Beatles . The 1990s were an optimistic time in America with seemingly endless and dazzling hope and possibilities, and in which wholesome and not so family acts could flourish . Collective Soul was the soundtrack of my teen years .
Man Collective Soul are one of those bands that hits real close to home for me! The self titled album was the only cassette and only album I had left when I was homeless in '95 for a short time. (still have the cassette I think to this day) Mainly because it was in my Walkman at the time. So that band and album holds so many precious memories of hardship and attempted suicide during that time. I was 20 years old at the time and now I'm 49. God and that album really helped me out of my rut and I'm so very thankful for that! Thanks so much for doing a video on this wonderful, unique and amazing talented band! God Bless!
We're the same age. Their music hits deep for me, too. Very meaningful. Incredible band. Glad to hear that you are no longer homeless, my friend. God bless you
I saw this band 15xs...every show was excellent.. Gave my wife a 50th yr Bday present..meeting the band (current members) backstage preshow..class acts..

@@bangslamwham88 I hope so! One of the few bands on my list from the 90s I still want to see.
Cheers! 🍻🤘
They're just so good live. Don't miss them next time you get a chance!
Thank you 🙇♀️
SHINE seemed to describe a state of mind when you are having fun and adventure with friends you love.
I still jam their cds. They got riffs, man.
That's two of us!
@@KurtWitowski indeed!
My parents always listened to collective soul when I was growing up. They were a big band of my childhood. Finally saw them live earlier this year. Awesome show!
Probably seen them 20 times. One of my all time favorite bands.
Yeah, collective soul will always be one of my favorites in Ed. Roland is a genius songwriter❤
I’ve been listening to Collective Soul since the beginning and have all their albums. I wouldn’t call the my favorite band but enjoy the music. AYTA is a great pop rock song!
Collective Soul rocks. I’ve been a fan since the 90’s. They’re still going strong.
Me too. But I think I don't know their new sound.
Couldn't be happier I haven't heard them for 20years
Had a chance to see Collective Soul about ten years ago. Great band.
When they started their Dosage Tour, first stop I was security for the concert in Milwaukee, Wi. I already bought the CD because I loved the song "Run". And I knew the owner of the theater and got in to see them Free, again because I was security...well one of them. It was GREAT!!
Yeah man 🤩😃
One of my favourite bands since the beginning!
Top five favorite bands ever. I definitely recommend you see them live. He sounds better now than he used to
I have seen CS at least a dozen times, they're great live! The energy is undeniable!
Agreed 👍🎉🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶
I heard shine on the radio. It was unique. I instantly liked it and started buying Collective Soul cds. They are awesome!!!
"Up Around the Bend" was the song that made me decide to pickup a guitar, but Collective Soul's first 2 albums were my source material to learn how to play 🥰🥰🥰
Seen them 7x , seen them last year too.
They're still going strong.
Dosage is my favorite album from them and one of the best albums ever.
Now that's a true fan 😁
We saw Collective Soul a couple years ago with 3 Doors Down and Soul Asylum. They ended their set with the song RUN, which my wife had never heard before. She nearly cried. My wife wanted to initially go because of 3DD, but she left a huge fan of Collective Soul. I already was. Great band, great show.
Funny enough, an old girlfriend of mine used to make fun of me for loving Collective Soul.
One day I emailed (in the early days of email) her a "poem."
She wrote me back and said that it made her cry because the poem was so poignant. That's when I told her that the poem was the lyrics to the CS song, "Run." She felt kind of duped, but became a CS fan after that.
Dosage is in my top 10 favorite albums ever, Grew up on that and it is burned into my soul in the best way.
Their new album is great. Saw them last year at an outdoor show and they sounded amazing.
Very nicely done! The best band!
Thanks
I watched them live in 2001 at the Sun City Super Bowl in South Africa to a packed house (6000 capacity venue), then saw them again live in 2006 at The Manchester Academy in the UK in front of maybe 400 people...that was surreal...both times they absolutely smashed it though!
I just saw them last night. I really enjoyed their concert.
I just got into this band recently!! Thanks for this!!
Welcome!!
They have so many catchy songs it's almost unbelievable
Still love Collective Soul. Thanks for the video.
you're welcome.
I saw them play at a bar in Charlotte around the year 2000. They rocked. Great show.
My favorite band! Awesome stage presence and they rock out!
We saw them at Milwaukee Summerfest this year. Where did you see them?
Collective Soul was of its time . When most alternative rock groups of their era were grim and depressing; it was a novel idea to become the grunge Beatles .
The 1990s were an optimistic time in America with seemingly endless and dazzling hope and possibilities, and in which wholesome and not so family acts could flourish .
Collective Soul was the soundtrack of my teen years .
One of the greatest modern rock bands.
I smoked rock in 93' and saw them back in Toronto. Great show.
Love Collective Soul - saw them years ago at Ohio State University in a small venue. Amazing live performance!
Awesome band Awsome musition great to listen to much respect guy's please don't stop
Love these guys. Will always have a special place in my heart. Listen to them all the time!
God bless you
@@thedude4672 Thanks so much man! And God Bless you as well! 1974?
One of the best live bands I’ve seen
I saw them in 2014 at the BIG music festival in Kitchener, Ontario. They were GREAT. IT WAS REALLY, Really nice to see them after all that time.
Kitchener Ontario? Is that where Kitchener Leslie is from?
Most underrated band ever still listening to them
Keep on rocking
I saw this band 15xs...every show was excellent..
Gave my wife a 50th yr Bday present..meeting the band (current members) backstage preshow..class acts..
Been my fav band since they started with shine. I’ve seen them a bunch of times. Awesome shows
Love these guys and their songs. My favorites are December and light shine.
