Water will bring out the skunk smell even more. I had a lab that got hit once. I did the Dawn, peroxide and baking soda mix initially that really knocked it down. However, every time he got rained on, even years later, it would resurface.
I did the same thing. Same results
Tomato Juice or spray odor neutralizer.
I learned something today Josh. I did NOT know that "spring in the air" just smelled like skunk spray. Woooooo!

Use this on your pup
The formula is: 1 quart of 3 percent hydrogen peroxide (fresh bottle), • ¼ cup of baking soda (sodium bicarbonate), and • 1-2 teaspoons of liquid dish soap.
It will take away the smell after you wash him. It is amazing stuff.
A tomato juice bath for the dog after a skunk bath ... works great !
Josh, I’ve got some experience with flooding fence problems. 4 strands of high tensile electric fence. Use a good pin type insulator and a limiting switch.
The switch will shut off the electric when the water gets up too high. With the pin type insulators the water may break the pin but 4 inch zip ties can replace the pin and are cheap. Or you can use a nail. The nails might break the insulator.
We normally do 4 wires bottom is 8-12 inches off the ground and not a hot wire. Top 3 wires are hot and about 12 inches apart.
On the farm I grew up on and the farm I have now we always have a rock hill, every rock we pick up on our farm we dump there just in case we want to build something from those rocks.

I live on a large creek. Water is hard to stop. How about cutting 2' off the bottom in bad areas then add cattle panel strips that will hinge up under pressure. If you get any build up just lift and clean.

Those stones would make a great foundation for a nice out building, or maybe even a nice wall..Stone is beautiful and will outlast anything else.
they crumble....I've thought about it too...but these stones flake and crumble over time....most of what I'm picking up is crumbles off a bigger stone

Cole the cornstar's Brother Cooper ran over to it his dogs. My brother-in-law ran over there hunting dog because they weren't paying attention to where the dogs were laying. So I totally understand making the dog obey you.
Yep….dogs that don’t mind or have safety awareness don’t stay on the farm long
I used to back over the bank just enough so that ypu could lift the box and dump the rocks. Just make you set the emergency brake good.👍

Some of those cows look like the Goodyear blimp only black....carrying big time.
I think some people leave the bottom of the fence loose so the water can push it open and the debris flows through as well.

Hey JOSH, have you contacted your TYM dealer about the hydraulics on your T5 74 they should be able to come out and fix that issue with it. I work for TYM dealer and we’ve had to fix a few of them that does that over here in Georgia so I’d reach out to them and let them know about it. They can probably come out and take a look at hydraulics, have a good one brother

I have a similar issue on my property in Colorado. I used the black silt barrier that is used to keep dirt from washing into the street from a lot that is under construction and doesn’t have grass on it yet. The orange snow fence works too. I couldn’t use the orange fence because I’m too close to town and it would be seen more than the silt fence. Good luck.
I have a Kawasaki Mule utv, a great machine also. I put a hydralic lift on my dump bed instead of lifting by hand, mostly to help my wife. We also have a Kubota utv. I agree with you about the different advantages of both. Always picking up rocks on my farm too. The grand kids are a great help. Be safe out there, farmer rod
There's some stuff that's called Pooph, (I think that's how it's spelled) it is available at some Walmart stores. They claim it will cure skunk.
See if there’s a flow control valve in the hydraulic line.

For the flood area fence, I would consider something more like a horse fence, it’s not as good for keeping out predators, but you don’t have a large net to collect debris, so it will let it flow through easier, basically just a two or three rail fence that would keep the cows in but would not be essentially a giant net to catch debris. Then, if it floods, it will just wash under the fence and not build up debris. 🤔
To turn the water on the bad fence area, a motor grader making some good wind rows.

Always found barb wire/high tinsel works better on those creek bottoms, keep the bottom strand little high let the debris flow under and through where they woven wire won’t.
Take your backhoe and ditch on the outside of the fence with the dirt piled between the ditch and fence and divert it
On the flood areas, I’d switch from a woven fence to a multi strand high tensile fence. The derbies would flow through it a lot better and it is easier to repair. I just did about 1800 ft of a 7 strand alternating hot/ground am happy with the results. I did 7 strands to keep goats in and predators out but 4 or 5 works well for cattle. I’ve got about 2 miles more to do…. One post at a time.

Zach's place is much much larger with much more open flat land....and tillage...we'll pick these up and it's pretty much one time and done...then maintenance for the next hundred years lol

There are rock pickers and harrows that can gather those rocks.
I suggest the secondary fence plus it might be a little cheaper than hauling in a bunch of dirt you might have to do the math❤
I wonder if that was a major area for glaciers. Where I live is the same and a lot of different types of stones especially sandstone where the glacier ground down everything in its path

Give Buddy a bath with 1 part hydrogen peroxide, dawn dish, and 1 part baking soda. This is rubbed in heavy and the smell is gone.
For your dog smell. I had to use tomato juice it helped. But left the dog out side!

Í aways washed my dog's with tomato juice...works great.
Run it to the creek bc you have the tools to do dirt work. Fix fence and be done.
Build swales to redirect the water to the creek. I would not install a false fence.

When the dog gets sprayed by a skunk, you can buy a spray bottle of phooh. They say it will work for skunk smell.

Have you tried a Rock Rake on the back of your TYM to get the rocks? Also they sell a hydraulic dump bed kit for the Honda
yessir....but sometimes ya just gotta get the old work gloves out
a Harley rake on the front of the skid steer or Ventrac would be perfect to get the debris away from the fence.
I would switch to barbed wire either a 5 or 6 strand and the debris goes through much better. Tall grass can get caught on the wire but not the tree debris goes right through.

You have a crap load of rocks... use them to make something to block/catch the debris.

You were talking about putting in a dirt break or a sacrificial fence to keep the debris from floods off the perimeter fence. If you could get the jersey barriers they would keep the debris off, plus divert the water off the fence
My Grandparents use to use distilled vinegar baths to get the skunk smell off of the dogs and clothing! Could designing a swell or swells be an option for redirecting the water to a lower location on that plot of land?
When you animal friend gets sprayed, if you wash them off immediately with dawn dish soap it will take 90% of the smell away.

Gregg Judy has fibreglass, UV resistant, lifetime warranty, perimeter fence posts that are hammered deep, deep into the ground and bend back after debris pressure (from above or washed to the side) is released. I think he has an arrangement with the manufacturer. He talks about the posts in his beginners grazing schools and has a few videos about them with methods on how to install and tips and tricks for stony ground, bends and inclines. Not sure they would be suitable for mesh style wire fencing, though. He uses strands of high tensile wire. But they might be better suited for you in the areas susceptible to pasture flood wash, pond overflows and under trees. That being said, 5” of rain in a few hours is hard on any property; flat or sloping!!!
I know Greg personally, have seen the fencing...it's not something that I'd want on my farm...just being honest. I work with a ton of fencing professionals and it's just not something a reputable contractor would install. Great cheap fencing if you're leasing property...but our fences are 10 times better than that homeowner grade DIY stuff....it's like comparing peel and stick plastic tile to marble if ya get my drift...not bad...does the job....and it's appropriate for some
Dirt and rocks barriers only solve problems on this side of the fence
Your loader tractor might have a flow control valve restrictor inline. However. I have learned first hand...... when you have a tractor loader and double cylinders to tip the bucket.......the speed of tipping the bucket is almost cut in half. I have a loader with only one cylinder. Major difference ! And.......this is why most people go towards a skid loader. Smaller cylinder diameter thus more speed. Large cylinders or more cylinders....less speed. Basic logic. My tractor and loader......when using it ......its like my arm...... ( a bit slower ) can move much quicker. The primary lift cylinders are " one way " . That alone is less restriction ! Hence much faster movement !

Got a Rock Rake to rake rocks but the rock rake did not rake rocks very well, so I sold the rock rake to another guy for raking rocks. He didn't like it either so he sold the rock rake too. Maybe I just didn't know the secrets of using one?!?

You should have tried to scrub the stink off Buddy, and I think he should be riding in those tractors with you because you are running his poor legs off. That's the best friend you will likely ever have, and more faithful than any human you will ever know, too.
I have been a T.I. over thirty years and could write a book about all of the terrible things they have done to me. Back in 18. I was going through a horrible skin problem, (which I believe were BYO/WEPPONZ being tested on me and my one of 3 dogs who had it, and which forced us to put him down early, and nearly killed me as well due to unbelievable amount of suffering)..I was checking my skin w a magnifying glass and found some really strange, matching sets of holes in my inner wrists and knees. I never seen anything like them, and knew they were not parasite related. No parasite drills matching SETS of holes, all the same size, in the same areas on both sides of the body like that! The holes looked like tiny tunnels. And I wanted to know WHAT WAS IN THEM. So I got a sterile needle, and I OPENED UP THOSE HOLES, and took samples of the fluid and viewed it under my scope. It was as if I had stepped into a sci fi movie, no lie. It was a clear COMPUTERIZED GEL that had a ladder shaped GRID system, tiny pine tree shaped antennas that had perfect little metallic looking balls on the tip of every branch, and tiny rices shaped batteries around the perimeter of the grid system, and the antennas were COLLAPSING themselves, condensing as the sample cooled to room temp!! It acted ALIVE! I researched this horror and found a pic of it, in a different configuration, right on D/A/R/P/A/S site. I won't go into any more on this here as it gets removed..but know that I am a Christian and didn't really think about it much that I was watched constantly and 'God talked to me' sometimes. (Which He DOES do, but it WASN'T HIM most of the time.)
Of the 3 dogs I had, one was my favorite. I loved them all, but the smallest had been an answer to prayer. Anyway, he had started having violent seizures the year we got him, over 10 yrs ago, now. He had them EVERY MONTH for over nine years! The vets tried meds that didn't work, and sometimes they were so bad we had to run him to the vet to be knocked out to 'reset' his noggin they said. Doing this can ALSO cause death, so it was always very stressful and I always prayed and cried, because it hurt me to see my baby writhing in pain so terrible..Well one day, my husband and I were sitting here in our living room and my babydog was at our feet. My husband's cell was a few feet away, and we heard it put out a strange, but quiet, high pitched noise that it never made. Suddenly, my little dog IMMEDIATELY started violently seizing! And that is when we knew that the FILTHYAJENTZ that had been harassing and terrorizing me most of my life WERE CAUSING the seizures!! Busted them RED HANDED! They stopped causing the seizures that very day, but about two weeks later, my dog went BLIND, and started having organ problems. His little belly swelled up, and I busted them putting strange sounds out of my comp speakers, then the comp itself, then even the tower, (at least I think it was/is the wretched twr across the str,. ((fittingly named MONARCH TWRS LLC)) but it could have been the dummeter recently installed or even the streetlight, i haven't checked yet to see if it's G/enabled. The scumbags continued to hurt him, and a couple days before Thanksgiving 22 they started shocking him every hr or two, so we couldn't get any rest. It was horrific what the scumbags did to him..he died in my arms on Thanksgiving Day about 4 PM. The filthy MONZTERZ were ENJOYING hurting him, and ME.They ENJOY hurting and killing helpless, innocent animals and ppl that have no way to DEFEND THEMSELVES against what they were/ARE doing! The absolutely SICK FREAKS do not deserve the AIR THEY BREATH, and I mean that wholeheartedly! They are fortunate I don't know where they are! There is NO DENYING what they are doing to us, and we busted them doing other things as well! KEEP YOUR LOVED ONES AWAY FROM ALL DIGITAL THINGS, and if you hear anything making a strange sound, shut if OFF FAST and BLOCK IT with a louder noise! Watch Dr Lee Meritt also and do parasite cleanses..and unplug all applyances not in use. Esp those that could hurt you if they were remotely used..And if you don't know JESUS, please GET SAVED. SHARE THIS! And I know this sounds strange, but bake or boil everything you consume, as the other stuff is now being added to many things.
There is a UA-cam channel of a farm in upper New York state that has a rock picker. It works well.

I'm retired, and would love to experience the Ranching/Farming life for a few weeks out of the year. Not afraid of hard work and in good shape/health for a 65+ year old man.
Dumping rocks in a waterway wont stop erosion. Rocks ( objects create churning which causes more erosion ! The reason for erosion is because too much water is forced through a small area. And... in this case.....remove the trees around the waterway .. grass wont grow very well in the shade. Also...widen the waterways so the water can spread out when there are heavy rains. To do that simply push the sides down into the lower areas..and seed it down. Never renovate a large area at one time. Because about the time you get it finish. You can have a heavy rain and wash everything out again. Do short segments at a time. Key....widen out waterways and remove trees to prevent shading !!!
Do not ruin the land scape by dumping rocks and tires in waterways ! Fix them right !
I moved no our farm 40 years ago. Had over 700 tires and maybe 5 truck loads of large rock in the waterway that was 200 yards long. I started at the time......widen the waterway and removed the tires and rock and reseeded it. I now have a nice smooth waterway I use for haying.
Josh you'll have to do a walk though on your collection of cars and trucks you got enough there for a videos worth.

My comment here is not meant for Josh 33:57 A break fence is the answer yes ! However...why on earth would anyone use woven wire in a flood prone area ?? Are we trying to " net " everything out of the flood waters ???? If your going to use woven wire....at least yes.....make it so it will breck away. Attach the wire lightly to the downstream side of the post ! When flood waters hit it...the wires is pushed open. With an opening it will put less force on the other parts of the fence. But....first get rid of the woven wire !
