I was reading my morning devotion and this song came into my heart. I remember singing this song when I was younger. I'm so thankful for the older songs still in my heart. I'm also thankful for the new songs.
Beautiful Inspired this reflection: The controversy is not between faith and works. It is not a dichotomy at all. The faith that Jesus promoted was and is a doing faith. It is a faith that works when we work it. It is not a magic formula that zaps reality when we pronounce incantations. It is a lifestyle that is activated when we act upon it. We receive it, believe it, internalize it, and apply it. At that point, we start building our lives on a solid rock. ------------------------------------------------- Matt. 7:22-29 On that day many will say to me, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many deeds of power in your name?' Then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; go away from me, you evildoers.' "Everyone then who hears these words of mine and acts on them will be like a wise man who built his house on rock. The rain fell, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on rock. And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not act on them will be like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell-- and great was its fall!" Now when Jesus had finished saying these things, the crowds were astounded at his teaching, for he taught them as one having authority, and not as their scribes.
Jesus is Lord, yesterday, today and forever. Build your hope upon the solid foundation of our Lord Jesus because all other ground is sinking sand. Shalom🙏
Wonderful ...The words were written in 1834 by Edward Mote . He was pastor of Rehoboth Baptist chapel .Horsham England. The chapel is still there today preaching Jesus Christ is Lord
Yes That brother has some soul. Excellent arrangement without overplaying. You knew he was doing some wonderful things but they enhanced the message rather than compete with it. Truly awesome and thoughtful musician.
@@TheAveleighWC Tom Trenney is doing some very creative things with all the hymns they do out there in Nebraska! Agreed whenever I play this hymn I need a modulation… but my way doesn’t have this groove! (Yet!)
The ecology of the liturgy is surrounded by hymnody. I have sometimes used one of the hymns as a take off point for a sermon rather than the lectionary readings or the opening Collect. Dale Matson+
This sounds great with the huge choir and awesome organ, but we never sang this version so its weird to me to hear the same words to a different tune. We used the Melita version every time for this one. Not sure why.
I am looking for a version that I believe was performed by the UNL Men's choir set to MELITA (arr. Metzger)I am 96% sure it was on this channel but I can't seem to find it.

Glorious hymn this morning
Just beautiful
Great impression of an Episcopal Church -- that's a compliment!
Episcopal church should be so lucky. This Nebraska UCC church got very lucky…. Many ingredients of soul coming together.

The singing and music are beautiful, but I do wish they had lowered the organ music a bit and raised the singing of the choir. Still beautiful music.
