I don't think Trackman or whichever monitor your using can pick up the self-correction. It needs some distance.
I tested the Bridgestone e12 contact prototype. They will go on sale in late February, and it is the straightest ball I’ve ever hit. FYI, my average drive is 210 and I have a slower senior swing speed. They are worth checking out, and think they are going to retail for 29 per dozen.
I've tried these a few years ago. I lost them all though, just like the Titleists. I ended up going back to the Titleists. Bottom line, the Polaras are straighter but with less distance. The Titleists are easier to buy at your local golf shop also, and I like the feel and distance of Titleists. So, I will never go back to Polara. I'm glad I tried them though.
I have hit the Polara ultimate straight golf balls & had same issues. Straight, but didn't spin enough to stay in the air. However if you try the Polara XDS balls they are way better. 3 piece construction. However they do no not correct ball flight quite as much but they perform more like what a regular ball does.
Glad you got the chance to test that.
I’m not sure they had time to self-correct when hitting in the simulator. But I don’t doubt that you lose distance with these.
How important is distance really? lol if you're hitting the ball straight every time your scores will be lower. Why does it matter to people that they're taking their second shot with a 6 iron rather than an 8 iron?
I've been playing with the Polaras for the last year. I like them and don't mind sacrificing some distance to stay straight. I'm just not sure if they are messing up my development as a golfer.
They are messing with you. You can't fix a problem if you don't know it exists, or the extent of it.
Found one in the woods. They work. But don't go high or as far with the one I had. It would be good for a beginner to golf.
Fun video. I’m going back to pro v’s....when I recover from surgery...in the summer.
Good stuff Matt. I say find a ball you like rather it be price point, spin, distance, and stick with it. Love ya brother!
The self-correction is due to the dimple pattern and internal weighting. It cannot be picked up on a simulator.
Hello Mr SG
You are doing a great job educating common Golfers, Thanks
Request: can you please also show your Standing for all shots with Ball placement from the Front to understand completely
For example if you are using Iron 6 then where do you place the ball and what will be your standing in front of the ball.
Side way is really not helping a lot
Thanks again for your time and efforts!!!
They definitely do not claim to effect putting. Its all about the air flow while in the air. The dimples on the side act like sails catching the air on both sides but not the center pulling the ball straight. But also removes spin at the same time which is why you get less distance.
Great ball to give your buddies to help them play better. Spin on the greens isn’t great but they don’t care as long as it goes straight 😀
Every reviwer who has reviewed this ball said it was straight but very very short. I used them once and could not hit them straight. Made them easy to find when you just had to walk a few yards from the tee.
When u watch the videos. Give this guy a like. He’s very good. Keeps things simple.
What would happen if you teed the ball up with the guidance line perpendicular? Also what would happen if you line up the guidance line at 11 or 1 o’clock ?
Great video, you can't beat the real deal.
Just wondering if you tried hitting fades or hooks with them?
If this helps you any I used them on Monday and I couldn’t get them to draw or slice at all that was with myself swinging the worst I could
Hey ur my golf guy ! Tell u to everyone.
I’m indecisive about everything. Looking for new clubs. Looking to go with cobras. Any thoughts ?
You should do a video on how to lighten up your bag for walking or taking a caddie.
I just did this! Well the caddie part haha, it was my wife. NEVER let your wife select your club!
Matt, unusual to see you hit balls in the pool. They all looked like good shots. Self Correcting, that will help me for sure. What about self correcting and tracking so they can be found?
“Dang balls”
Love it lol. Better self control than I would have had after 5 balls
I enjoy your vids
Lol 😆🤣 this. We reference "balls" alot also haha...and shafts
Just gotta make sure you line them up!
65 in Jacksonville Beach today. Playing 18 at 9 am. Good warm golf just a few short hours away. TPC too.
Jealous! We're in Texas but we still get some winter weather.
I have tried Polara Golf Balls with similar results, giving up significant distance for straighter ball flight (not worth it). I think I still have several sleeves left that I should probably just donate to Goodwill or Salvation Army.
you can donate a sleeve to me... thank you
Do you own stock in Polar?
What about Dixon Fire
I found one of those at my course. I hit it every now and then for shits and giggles. It is non-conforming though. It has been straight everytime, but it is definitely shorter.
You would think the track man in simulator mode would be unable to simulate the self correcting ball flight with any accuracy in fact I would expect the only accurate machine to use would be radar flight scope of actual ball flight
Winter rules evert shot is preferred lies which would give you the chance to align the ball
I was considering buying those balls off amazon but I couldn't get myself to do it because I wanna hit the ball straight because of me getting better not because of the ball helping me
Good news, I’ve found the bunker 😅
You are a little late to the straightest ball ever (Polara) video world, there are many others (10 plus on UA-cam) who had done this video. Bottom line, yes they fly straighter, they do not fly as far nor have the feel/control of premium balls
I couldn’t see your putting device video. It was set to private.
Smokin Jaws sorry it’s not supposed to be released yet.
The energy to correct itself has to come from somewhere, in this case it gave up distance to correct itself.
It's not a legal ball, so you adjust on the fairway. Tee up high. The arrow placement on the greens is irrelevant. Been playing them for several years, they're fun.
The polara xd was alot longer and as straight as the regular polara.
This is a classic story of David versus Goliath... however, in this version David gets eaten by Goliath... ProV is the best business for reason. Polara balls can be donated to the range.
It also works better for someone that actually mis hits the ball lol
Track man is useless on these balls. The dimple pattern makes them knuckle in mid air and self correct. I've tried to hit hooks and slices with them and it's impossible. When I tried them I thought there was something like a mettle disc inside them or something to make them fly straight. All about the aerodynamics
It go’s very straight but it went nooo where haha😭
Trackman has no way of analyzing the self correction since it happens out of its range.
When inside there is no air for the ball to go thru, track man data useless
Right, its only flying a few feet so there's no chance to auto-correct and therefore as far as Trackman is concerned, do different from any other ball.
Good morning
Do Felon golf balls really fly 30 yards longer than your normal golf balls?
This was the worst golf ball I have ever tried. It was erratic and did weird things -like the one really crappy range ball in the bucket you always get with a wonky flight on a good strike. My first tee shot with Polara (lined up correctly) launched normal then nosedived straight into the ground at about 75 yards and plugged into the turf. WTF? Straight? Yes, straight into the ground! It was like nothing I have ever seen before. At least everyone else got a good laugh out of it at my expense since just before I hit it I told everyone that I had an illegal ultra straight ball to test out. Weird things like this happened the whole round with it darting around in any direction but straight. It was like the marking on the ball to line it up was 90 degrees off. I will never play them again. The distance was also terrible compared to any other ball I had. May as well pick up the crappiest range ball you can find if you want an erratic unpredictable flight and save your money.
Couldn’t get distance out of either luckily their cheap lol
Your indoor tracking system won't pick up what kind of ball it is. The distance travelled indoors also will not allow the ball to self correct. So......since these balls are illegal, for most golfers not worth the money or time that you have happily put in for us....thanks.
Two thoughts: this ball is illegal per USGA standards.
It would be fun to have some high handicap players with huge slices or hooks test it out and see if they would play it just to enjoy the game a bit more.
As always very enjoyable content Matt.
We did an experiment and drilled holes in golf balls to see how it would effect flight. The one with 8 holes pretty much self corrected but at the cost of distance
Don’t really work!
Found one on the course. Hit it, it felt like a rock. Straight but no distance...✌️⛳🏌️
I assume you found the "lost ball" in the middle of the fairway, right?
@@cgoodson1438
It was in the weeds short of the fairway. Someone must have topped it like I did..✌️😀
So, did you have a ball retriever and scoop up the ones you hit in the water?? 🤣
No they remain in the pond
They are non-conforming golf balls aren't they?
