On standard 200 population the toughest AI bottlenecks themselves by building too many economic building, even tho they pretty much get turbo resource, they still build res and economy building in every city and by mid-late game they won't have population to build large armies, try editing the rules.xml and increasing population to 400 for example and then you will see the wrath of the toughest AI.
I personally go science, civic, commerce, then military for researches at the very beginning to quickly dish out that extra town and continue building eco without much idle time. You don't really need the market that early in the game (please correct me if I am mistaken) Really like how you had a strategy for every little scenario that played out during the game. I need to get back into this game I remember playing against 7 toughest computers in a diplomacy ffa on islands and it was absolutely crazy, having such little resource production facilities makes it difficult however diplomacy sure does help in a ffa!

Wow. GG. So far I couldn't yet beat Toughest but looking at this vid it might have been only beacause I was too impatient. The first 20-30 minutes are just struggle because there is no way you get an advantage and the AI just keeps fucking you in all departments, miliatry, eco, territory and tech too. So I just usually rage quit at some point because I don't want to win by holding it until World Government and then nuke rush his capital, that's just cheap. But looking at this vid there might be a chance that I could have come back if I hadn't been so impatient, so I'm going to try it. Thanks for the vid!
Good fight my friend , yes people are asking about commentry but I know commentry is not possible at this level of game which need complete focus attention good work my friend
very hard to beat without rushing or without wonder, territory, capital conquest or other abusements of AI. this is the only video Ive seen beating toughest AI without this
I can never play the way you do. I cannot multitask, and I cannot think quickly! I like this game, but it is extremely difficult compared to Age of Empires.
In 'game time' i could play like he does, but in my time it would be roughly double- there is a pause button and you can queue things up and tell them where to go while its paused.
Age of Empires 3 is slightly less difficult compare ro RON, I can beat on Hard Age of Empires player, while in RON only on Tough. Point is that you need to figure it out how your computer think, and his stile of strategy is not changing, compare to human player where we all change our stile of game many times during game.
You guys need to watch the video of the that pro gamer Rise of nation extended edition. He's one of the best player of the game. Take note how quick he is and how he scouts for ruins and rates. Take note how he raids as well as his research patterns. He's in a clan and guess his name is IND_dangerous Dave. Take note too how fast he age up and how he battles.
Interesting. I can't do these kind of tactics, I've always been the kind of person who likes sandbox so I always play between easy and moderate for the sake of not bothering of losing the game and setting the game from ancient age up to enlightenment age, I play this for the sake of it's medieval-gunpowder age theme. Specifically I like the American, British and French structures.

Good gameplay i used to play this alot whit my old vista and now i am buying the game again for my windows 10 from steam i play alot of age of empires too it would be great to see you play it
What I have learned from humans vs A.I. in strategy games is that all you have to do besides basic skills is know how to exploit their weaknesses. And BOOM you can beat every A.I.
Wow. That's something! When it came to AI-67%, I thot it's game over. What a comeback! I like your limited resource gathering. It's a mistake I always do. Gather more resources than reqd, and end up with fewer military units during crunch times. Btw, how long did it take for you to master the use of special units and spies?
I always like to go for 2nd city as soon as possible. I think that would allow you you to have more resource options with city itself producing food and wood and also 2nd library. Plus you will get faster knowledge generation since as soon as classical age rolls out you will have 2 univerisities pretty early. As for the results... well I tweak rush rules for peace for 15-20 min but I can handle 3 toughest AI easily.
Watching this right after beating the game on Moderate difficulty. And I had the max age set at Classical, to avoid the AI getting too far ahead of me. Felt so proud after winning, lol. To win at Toughest you probably have to be a proper nerd - remembering all the hotkeys, sequence of upgrades, knowing all the bonuses each upgrade provides like the back of your hand, etc. I don't have the time for that. The game is very fun either way. One of the most underrated strategy games out there.
Know whatcha mean. Played Vanilla about 15 years ago but not the expansion, at Very Slow speed with max win at Moderate IIRC. Coming back to it with Extended having advantage of quality videos by experts and Wiki Fandom for info can now beat AI at Tough on Slow speed. Don't think beating it at Toughest is in the cards at any speed but as you say it's fun. Love the colors and animations, building an economy and army/navy, crushing the enemy, etc. A great way to keep the ole noodle exercised as years go by.
Just wanted opinion on this : I tend to keep my capital in farthest corner, away from enemy, to defend it at all cost. And I keep 1 city at the front with considerable defenses and without any resource production in it, just for purpose of defense. But you kept the capital at the front. Is it that AI focussed only on one city just because it was capital? I mean if this is so, one can always keep capital in front with all defenses, and do resource production in other cities.
I don't know if this is a new strategy but it seems more people do keep their cap upfront. Reason being, it's easier to protect. So it IS closer to the enemy but also easier to defend. I also prefer to keep it back and make the cities closest to my opponents less economic...
maybe its a strat so the AI focuses on attacking that 1 city alone? You will notice he actually builds his production buildings behind the cities themselves, that way the AI will target the city and not the other structures(market, university), this way the city will become a tank(damage sponge), once it gets reduced, he simply moves his forces right next to the city, preventing infantry from capturing it. The thing players do against such overwhelming enemy is we tend to find the cracks in the AI. (AI will nuke cities themselves, doesn't care about other buildings) (AI will always focus on forts, bunkers, kinda like a priority target) (AI wont build docks unless its an island map,not great lakes) (i also seemed to notice that AI actually can't produce as fast as you in the final ages in terms of resources, even with many wonders, they also leave a lot of small cities undefended, just to increase territory size)
@@checkmate9099 I am not sure if keeping capital in front will make AI focus only on that. That's why I wanted more opinion on that, in case that's a known fact (I haven't researched on that). Personally I don't take risk of keeping capital city, or any city of significant resource production, in the front. About some other AI behaviors you have mentioned, I know and use most of them. I keep markets, universities, temples near the edge of city boundaries, so that I don't have to rebuild them once nuking starts. And I usually play Great lakes when I am playing just for fun (and not for challenge) as I already have a lake advantage.
very well done bro great vid but i wanna ask 3 questions: 1- why did u get ur capital to enemy's near? 2- why didn'u u make nuclear weapons? 3- why didn't u research Missile Shield first? The enemy threw countless icbm's to ur base.. i think u don't need artificial intelligence because of ur conventinal superiortiy..
since he put capital in front, ai only focused on that one city, leaving others safe. Missile shield was unnecessary as the ai places nuke directly on cities, so if you place the building far from cities the nukes become effectively pointless. Also the metal was really needed
Saurabh Kanhere Yes but it is extremelly annoying seeing them destroy your beautiful towns and wonders and being completely powerless to stop it.i want my victory to be clean, with the least amount of loses in both buildings and people.I am a bit perfectionist in strategy games.:P
@@skotiskiller Regarding that, an advice that works well against AI : Try to build all your buildings near the circumference of city circle. This reduces their damage against smaller nuke (sadly, not big advantage against ICBMs), coz AI never nukes anything other than cities.

would you mind doing one on nomad with research at very expensive and slow? I can beat tougher AI with the Lakota but toughest is still too much for myself.
Wow I am amazed! Good going :D I do have a question though. I can only beat tougher, but while playing conquer the world, I get attacked in the first 5 mins and a new wave comes about every 4 minutes. I just can't take it after some time. I try to lower their territory strengh but it just doesn't seems to make a difference. Any advice apart from economy? Thanks!
I have played against toughest computer and won but by 'All visible' option and by taking pauses and saving game. Even after, it took 2.5 hours to beat him. ur great player but still i think " science > civic > commerce > military" is a right sequence..
The max duffucult AI will need max poppulation to be take down.. If you fight on two side AI, that will be game over for you.. I try that before.. I never win.. because all my troops need to battle just with 1 opponent.. and the other came from other side.. Thas just like walking.. (sorry for bad english)
+Akhil Patil im not sure how fun it would be to just watch him do nothing besides focus on his economy for like 20 mins before any real engagement... unless there was some time-lapse and then focus on the battle.
Very nice game, couple questions though. Why did you make you middle city the capital? Why not the city furthest from the computer? Also why wouldn't you start directly into civic research? You can get you second city up much faster and get your economy off the ground sooner. Then go into the normal research progression.
Because that's how I've seen good players play online. I think its because you want to have your military buildings (towers, barracks etc.) near the front but also close to your capital. T he capital can be exposed at the back because your military should be up front. Also you assert your map dominance :p As for civic, yes I should have done that. And I build like that now unless there is fish or very good rares near me like diamonds.
Also you must explain why are you not making temple and doing taxation researches... it wouldnt be possible to mimic this with any other civ (except inca/egyptians)
Hi! Why is there a green light under the military units during the battle? (see 39.03 to 39.09 for instance) And what were you doing that caused flashes of white light at 41.40 to 42.40?
I would ask somethin that's been buildin my imagination. It's about the "tCords/wCords", and those are about MAP SIZE. Is it possible to make a biGGer map than 140 (in game .rules file) without bugging and cursor unresponding or sometimes crashing the game? Thanks comrades 👊

click the arrows near ur resources
How do you pick military units but not other units like citizens
military units are prioritized over citizens, so when you click and drag you will select military units
Wow i didnt know that :3 Thanks alot!
@@latbat58 heyo a random Project Zomboid player. I've seen you in Pr1vate lime's vid right?
@@thuglifebmgo1732 yeah. but i legit cant believe i commented on this video friccin 7 years ago
well played!!
very well done bro great vid but i wanna ask 3 questions:
1- why did u get ur capital to enemy's near?
2- why didn'u u make nuclear weapons?
3- why didn't u research Missile Shield first? The enemy threw countless icbm's to ur base.. i think u don't need artificial intelligence because of ur conventinal superiortiy..
since he put capital in front, ai only focused on that one city, leaving others safe. Missile shield was unnecessary as the ai places nuke directly on cities, so if you place the building far from cities the nukes become effectively pointless. Also the metal was really needed
I always set the no nukes rule cause it is a bit unfair with the ICBMs.The first one who will create enough will win.
Saurabh Kanhere Yes but it is extremelly annoying seeing them destroy your beautiful towns and wonders and being completely powerless to stop it.i want my victory to be clean, with the least amount of loses in both buildings and people.I am a bit perfectionist in strategy games.:P
Saurabh Kanhere Thanks for the advice.
@@skotiskiller Regarding that, an advice that works well against AI : Try to build all your buildings near the circumference of city circle. This reduces their damage against smaller nuke (sadly, not big advantage against ICBMs), coz AI never nukes anything other than cities.
Love this game, instaling just now-----again :) 2022

REALLY REALL GREAT GAME I AM PLAYING FROM 2004 TILL NOW
Nice Comeback
would you mind doing one on nomad with research at very expensive and slow? I can beat tougher AI with the Lakota but toughest is still too much for myself.
I could try it out
Actually nomad is easier setting than standard, it's needs some micro though. (harass/skirmishes)
yeah I played it last week and was surprised how easy it was.
it's just perfect !!!
which edition is this..? Throne and patriot 'toughest' just pin u down.. this toughest played like a tough.. even not like tougher..
Rise of nations thrones and patriots
duzzles L man hen u played extremely well..
Thanks!
what a pro
Havnt u mode makes my resource increases like the toughest pc?
I have played against toughest computer and won but by 'All visible' option and by taking pauses and saving game. Even after, it took 2.5 hours to beat him. ur great player but still i think " science > civic > commerce > military" is a right sequence..
Yeah science > civic > commerce > military is correct. Would do that now.
The only thing I hate in this game are nucler attacks.
The max duffucult AI will need max poppulation to be take down..
If you fight on two side AI, that will be game over for you.. I try that before.. I never win.. because all my troops need to battle just with 1 opponent.. and the other came from other side.. Thas just like walking.. (sorry for bad english)
I'm confused...
Why you playin' so crazily?!
It will be More fun.....Keep the Rules like > No Nukes >Peace Until Information Age >Map All Visible ..
+Akhil Patil Thats so easy though.
+Akhil Patil im not sure how fun it would be to just watch him do nothing besides focus on his economy for like 20 mins before any real engagement... unless there was some time-lapse and then focus on the battle.
+Akhil Patil Peace until information age? Lets just pretend we never saw that.
2020 hi
2022 checking in
Why did you move the capital
Idk maybe I figured it was safer because I had a barracks there already.
Ok thanks@@hocman654
Plus u are very daring.. I make 2nd city left or right but not in front.. any good reason behind that? as comptuer do the same..!!
I saw some good resources right in front. Also its good to build in front to assert your dominance :)
Also you must explain why are you not making temple and doing taxation researches... it wouldnt be possible to mimic this with any other civ (except inca/egyptians)
nice video btw... commentary would have been better
Why enemy is not attacking with its army even in toughest with large army
Gagan Goswami so it doesn’t damage its army before the city can even be captured
Why dont you have sound?
Amazing !, Do you have your own hot keys ? or are you using the default ones ?
thanks ! And it is the default ones. except for create citizen I use Q. I also press TAB a lot, its very useful.
Watching ur game with Jatin from yesterday... 84

@@tlotlosenai7304 68. Not sure I've played with you before
Hi! Why is there a green light under the military units during the battle? (see 39.03 to 39.09 for instance)
And what were you doing that caused flashes of white light at 41.40 to 42.40?
The heals are from my government general I believe. The white light is from my scouts, i think they are jamming anti air or something
@@hocman654 Healing also from supply wagon. There seems to be 1 or 2 of those in that army
@@GS-et3mi Nah, only French supply wagons heal. It was all from the CEO unit from their government.
@@d0ctahp3ppah If you have constructed Versailles your supply wagons can heal your troops no matter what nation you have picked.
Superb!!
What does that shockwave scouts release do? Nice gameplay, also :)
They are jamming enemy's SAM installation (anti air buildings) within that circle.
it would be fun if u set the stage until enlightenment only. its more fun.
i know i like enlightenment age alot too
Ooh he gonna do it
Is that extended edition?
dude build more cities and get every single upgrade for resources
How do you make a unit go to consecutive points on the map?
select units, hold shift then right click
Nice, thanks!
but how can you build forts near cities??
You can't build fort near enemy's cities. Is that what you are talking about?
0:01 Wonder Victory is broken and we all know it.
I play this with a normal rise of nations
