    台南的食物是全台灣最好吃的period。還記得我在高雄讀書的那段時間,班上都是全台灣各地來的同學,我們會直接騎機車飆到台南,整天什麼都不做,就是狂吃,什麼都吃一點,一天吃了10幾樣東西,撐到不能再撐才騎回高雄。除了食物以外就是滿滿的人文氣息,這裡有很多老房子改建的餐廳或是咖啡廳,很多長大後沒有忘本,致力於發揚本土文化的青年。這樣的氛圍全台灣我只在台南看過。

    臺南是臺灣最早開發的城市,在 300多年的文化薰陶之下,充滿人文韻味的街頭巷尾;
    臺南素有文化古都之美稱,擁有多項地方特有的民俗傳統技藝及反映歷史的文化活動;
    臺南至今仍就具有臺灣最多樣化的小吃,小吃是臺南市一大特色,亦是重要觀光資源;
    臺灣最有人情味的一群人應該就居住在臺南這裡,這裡也是國際級導演李安的家鄉哦!
    國慶煙火明天將首次在臺南安平的漁光島施放,預計施放1萬6,882發,時長約33分鐘。👍😄

    之前去台南都只是走馬看花或開車到觀光景點,感覺不到他原始的魅力,上個月跟家人將車子停好,直接走路在台南街上走,終於感受到他的魅力,古城一條街全部都是婚紗店跟喜餅店,且走在騎樓下感受到古時候阿嫲年代的氣份,在其他城市完全沒的氛圍在台南都感受的到,那次逛街5個小時後,回到家過一星期心中只想還想去台南走走,之前對城市的感受是要先進光鮮,但在台南可以感受到古代的繁榮留下來的味道,美食又多很棒

    因為政府只徵收到所需路面面積,後面要花錢自己推倒,有時候只徵收到整棟房子的1/3或1/4比起徵收的金額,後面要花更多錢處理(古早徵收金額不高)乾脆棄置,早期我家就有這樣的房子,拿徵收的錢去推倒房子剛好什麼都沒有,我為甚麼要去推倒它,一棄置就是30年

      As far as biking a lot of my friends bike around the city. In fact some have biked to Kenting down south, up to Taipei, or even around the island. I often bike to work myself. Tainan is also pretty close to some good camping and hiking spots too. Lots of waterfalls around. Can usually travel by train or bus to most places.

    會有很多被拆一半的房子,主要是因為道路拓寬計劃,因為台南是古城,那時也沒有汽車這種東西,所以道路並不寬,就不適合車子的行駛,就像歐洲很多古城鎮一樣,有很多道路車子是不能行駛的。
    但會留存只拆了一半的房子,我確實也覺得是問題,很顯然的,施工部門沒有完善其工作。或有另一種可能,是政府徵收了部份房屋土地,但房子的所有權人,拿了徵收款,但卻不想善後,這種問題在古城裡很常見,因為房屋的所有權人,因為遺產繼承的關係,變成一間房子,但所有權人非常的多,最後變成沒人要出錢善後房子的部份。像我高雄的親戚家,一間房子竟然有二十幾個所有權人,這是非常可怕又難處理的。
    抱歉我英文不太好,只能請你身邊的人翻譯給你聽了。

      The half torn down buildings were due to the old history nature of the city. The roads were not made for cars to pass. In order for the road expansion, government paid compensation for the parts procured. With the shared ownership of the remains as they usually are inherited from generation to generation makes it hard for all people to reach an agreement what to do with the building. Rather than going through all the legal troubles, they just leave it hence why those old exposed buildings.
      Btw, I dont own the answer it's just a translation of the comment above.

    The half torn down houses, as far as I know, is because the Tainan city has been expanding tiny alleyways during the last few decades. (Tainan used to have a lot more alleys.) Lots of buildings were totally knocked down. Some were taken down partially with the left over space so small even though some home owners rebuilt their tiny houses on their lots, others just left them the way they are maybe due to lack of budget or other reasons.

    • @garyli312
      @garyli312 4 роки тому

      It's after the Japanese came that they started to build broader modernized roads in Tainan. The traffic circles and gridded city blocks that you see in the city today are mostly built during and after that time. You can still find those tiny alleys (the ones that are crooked and less than 4 meters wide) in the west-central district in Tainan where most of the historical sites are located. Some of those alleys even show the trace to the early development of the city dating back to the Ching dynasty period.

    I have a more technical answer to your question. It is because when the government wanted to widen the road, they only buy off the portion they need from the landlord. Then technically, the government cannot touch private land when they are doing public work so they just chop off half of the building. There are many MANY rich families in Tainan who owns those land for like over one hundred years. They got very rich during the 70s and 80s owning lots of developed land across the city and then they migrated to the US, Canada, Japan etc. So they don't really care if a small portion of their property is left abandoned as long as they could make money through rents on the main street.
    The government of Tainan had recognised the problem in the early 2000s and have been working through various programmes to incentivise the landlords to either regenerate their property or allow agencies to manage the regeneration of their properties. So a lot of sites you saw in the city is actually the progress made so far to tackle this issue but it is still a work in progress.
    BTW there is a private effort on this matter, too. Some successful business people from Tainan are buying abandoned houses in the city, restore it and assign agencies to manage it on their behalf. Many become the shops in the alleyway you see today.

    • @nc6130
      @nc6130 4 роки тому +3

      so for the remaining half torn abandoned buildings, I think the original owner was either passed away or their heir is abroad overseas who can not be located by those peoples who wish to buy the properties for renovation or rebuild.

For your information, Tainan used to be the capital of Taiwan when the Netherlands, the kingdom of Tyawan and the Ching(清) Empire occupied the Formosa. The food of Tainan is tend to be a little bit sweet, the reason is that only the citizens in the capital city could afford the most expensive sugar and proud to show it off in the long long past times . Hope this gives you an outline of Taiwan history.

    This was how it was explained to me a couple of decades ago. When the government seizes land for eminent domain, they only take the amount of land actually needed.... if the remaining building isn't a safety threat.... then the original landowner would need to pay for the demolition of that remaining part. There are tons of examples in Tainan where those half buildings are just left standing for years.

    Most cities in Taiwan have been going through a constant urban renewal. But this process varies in difficulty depending on the city's history and size. This city of Tainan is particularly hostile to urban renewal due to the residents' pride and sense of ownership. During the Manchurian colonial period, the Manchu removed all horse and horse drawn carts from Taiwan as a measure of rebellion prevention. They even relocated the capital to Taipei because they feared the people of Tainan. And the roadways were made narrow and winding since there were no need for faster horse based traffic. This causes major challenges for city planners when they tried to modernize the streets. They figured that if only they disappropriate the minimal amount of private property for public projects, the would face the least of resistance. Hence the half torn down houses.

    Tainan is famous in Taiwan for its history and its food. It's not off the radar; it's a top destination in Taiwan. Before 1885, it was Taiwan's capital, known back then as Taiwanfoo.

    Taichung, uncharacteristic? C'mon, it's got some of the most insane stuff I've seen in Taiwan! Restaurants that's entire buildings, giant luxury housing area near the art gallery, giant deity statues on top of temples, hipster markets appearing out of nowhere.
    Taichung is my favorite, Tainan is a close second, or perhaps a tie.

    If I were to live in Taiwan, Tainan would be my first consideration. Its true, there is a definite vibe you feel when there that's different from other places in Taiwan. Maybe it being a large college town that makes it different? I'm looking forward to finding out on my next visit.

    There's a house outside my grandmother's apartment that looks perfectly normal from the ground level. It looks like it has a tree in the backyard too. See it from the 6th floor, it's fucking hollow and the tree has grown from the INSIDE of the house and burst through the remnants of a roof.

As a Taipei-er(?), I admire the way native Tainanese live, they are so rich in every aspects of daily life, food, temples, artisans, designers, etc. (oh and also lots of low profile millionaires)

    Yeah. Taichung is kind a soulless city. I lived there for three years. Now I’m in New Taipei… we have more history, mountains, rivers etc in Taipei for sure.
    About Tainan… I never really spent enough time there to get the feel of it. I like Kaohsiung quite a bit but it feels more quiet and lonely compared to Taipei. For me, bigger places are making me feel more alive, most of the time.
    Keelung is very good spot where I ride scooter sometimes daily.
    I’ve done around Taiwan by scooter about 4 times and I’ve done around Taiwan within 24 hours on scooter too.
    I usually begin with east coast coz it’s faster and easier to ride because there have not that many traffic lights.
    West coast I prefer at night when traffic quiets down. Careful with cameras though.
    On west coast… I recommend you road me 3 instead of 1 if you ride at day time but… if you do it at night… 1 is more straight and probably faster.
    If you do Taiwan over night. Good place to stay is Xiaoliuqiu island’s camping or Kenting’s central hostel.
    Well… anyways… you guys do the trip counter clockwise so… the best part of your journey starts after Kenting national park.
    The epic road from Kenting to taitung and taitung to hualien where you find caves where the first known people were used to live over 70k years ago. And then comes the north which is the most crazy road ever. Hualien to Yilan to Keelung and to Tamsui.
    Take your time with the north… it’s the most epic part of Taiwan. History and roughy mountains are must see places.
    Free hot springs in the mountains and Yanmingshan national park.
    Holy crap… don’t even get me started. North is insane. Taipei county is 🤯. Blows your mind… even if it’s raining

    Lived in Taichung for ten years. It's not the place it used to be. No more night life, no more parking and no more clean air. Property rental prices have also shot up quite drastically over those years. Average rental prices have doubled in 10 years! For a city that is fast losing on the quality of life scale - that's odd.
