Couldn’t agree more. I’m also very sick and tired with all the 拍馬屁vids made by foreigners in Taiwan. I had to discover all these downsides of living in Taiwan for myself for the past 6 months. If I watched a video like this before I came here it might make settling down here a lot easier. This video was like a breath of fresh air. I also like how you kept it very fair throughout the video. Keep up the good work!

台灣房價真的高得嚇死人
我也想說很多中小型路口根本就沒有強制機車待轉的必要，他麻的法規自己都寫三線道和以上才需要機車待轉，但只要有白七在路上出事的次數一多，交通部就只會掛那個藍色北7牌來便宜行事，然後一到某些月份就有北藍警察蹲在騎樓等你不待轉
我想重點不是「缺點」而是「進取」，之前很流行一句話 “Taiwan can help" 我把它改為 "Taiwan can do better"

太過方便與生活成本上的考量 導致台灣機車滿街跑
停車不方便 車位難找又難停 所以機車反而是首選 如果不是要去到非常遠的地區
另外台灣大眾運輸系統其實只有台北算還完善 其他地方根本還是爛透了
至於生活美感...懶地說了 妳要美就是要花錢 現在台灣這樣的薪資水平?
你是要每戶人家自己砸個幾百萬為自己家的內裝外裝大改善 省省吧

Sorry, but as an American (who also lives in Taiwan now) I have to correct you on hotel costs in America. To get a decent hotel in most cities that won't give you bed bugs, you're looking at minimum $3000nt, usually more if you want amenities. The other terrible thing about American hotels (and everything in America) is the hidden fees and service taxes. Hotels in America will list a per night cost, but when you check out and they itemize your bill, you see a laundry list of additional fees and services that you weren't anticipating. After living in Taiwan for 3 years, I'm still blown away by the fact that I can walk into a hotel in Taiwan, it says it's $2000nt per night, and when I check out, it's EXACTLY what they initially said. Tax was already figured in, there are never additional services, and I've never worried about getting bed bugs. I can't speak for other countries, but as an American the hotel rates and quality are MUCH better in Taiwan based on my previous experience in the states.

Yeah so true. Went to Las Vegas last year. The total amount due after all those hidden fees is double the price they listed, which I think is a norm in Vegas.
Hotels in NY range from $70 to $300. I have no idea why do you talk or hate for the entire country like a schoolkid.

I'm glad that this pops up in the recommendation. Spot on observations! I'm a native Taiwanese. I kind of disagree with some "opinions" (food etc) but I respect it. And yet some "facts" you mention are very very true. The noise, the traffic, the city design and selfish stores that cause the pedestrian hell. Not to mention the house pricing. I'm glad that you point them out!

I hate the uneven sidewalks, one section is high, the next is lower…so dangerous and shops spilling out onto the streets or sidewalks…it’s a safety issue, Taiwan needs to show some respect to pedestrians.

這幾個禮拜一直被騷擾，臉書及哀居已被盜入過！剛剛發現那個小紅竟然又在這騷擾別人，還故意說～他表達看法又被人說 ㄟ你是不是中共同路人，想要裝無辜，卻已不打自招！
請大家千萬要小心，如果以後想反駁可疑留言，有一個方法讓他們賺不到錢，就是不要直接回他，而是隨便找一個不是他的留言回覆，再改帳號，也就是說千萬不要出現小老鼠，
ａ外面有圈圈那個符號，你就只打小老鼠後面的字，或同音字，這樣其他網友應該會明白你是在跟誰對話（只要不出現小老鼠，系統無法辨識他們的帳號，這樣他們就領不到錢）
他們都是靠回覆在領錢，這是他們自己人爆料出來的，我也是在其他頻道看到網友分享時學到這個方法，但是不確定能不能有效杜絕！他們利用這個頻道混淆視聽，真的很可惡！
在台灣生活土生土長一定超懂影片內容絕對的忠實呈現，完全毫無扭曲事實或是誇大，這個作者骨子裡應該已經是台灣的形狀了w

政客怎麼可能聽得到 笑死 台灣會爛有90%就是因為政客為了選票而搞的
例如這影片說的 開了酒吧 沒多久就被檢舉噪音而倒閉 → 鄰居去找民代施壓
或者車子的進口關稅導致車子很貴 → 政客為了保護裕隆 故意把關稅弄很高
公然侮辱在刑法 → 死不修法 通姦都除罪化了 公然侮辱還不修
市容很醜 → 違建的一堆 政府不拆 或者違建仔找民代關說 結果不用拆
還有很多啦 其實每一項 政府都可以做
但為了選票 沒人敢做 或者做了又被民代施壓
這就是台灣的困境 每個政客都為了選票在亂搞
台灣政客還在忙著貪汙、搞內線、搞土地、搞房地產啦，沒時間理會公平正義與社會的進步
台灣政客最會的就是裝傻充愣
沒有用的，說到底，台灣的民主是「不健康的民主」，自由很多時候淪為個人無理取鬧的自由，這都是因為台灣的特殊處境導致政府太害怕失去政權，只能不斷討好選民，基本無論藍綠哪黨執政，只要是跟國家走向（反中、親中）無關的事，人民想怎麼樣，他們就讓人民怎麼樣。比如，摩托車也是另一個問題，台灣除了偏鄉或郊區，主要城市的大眾交通運輸都很方便，根本不需要將摩托車當作交通工具，但這些機車族已經習慣去哪都要直達目的地，連走5分鐘的路都不願意，曾經有個調查說台灣肥胖率亞洲第1，一點都不奇怪，因為台灣人不走路，曾有新聞台採訪一個韓國留學生，她畢業後留在台灣開韓式烤肉店，記者問她喜歡台灣的什麼，她回答：「交通比韓國方便」，既然如此，難道韓國人有在把摩托車當作交通工具嗎！？ 很顯然，騎摩托車在台灣變成一種難以被淘汰的畸形文化，正常的情況下早該制定政策限制了
另外，台灣頂樓加蓋的違法鐵皮屋很多，明明是違章建築，但台灣政府長期沽名釣譽（地方、中央都一樣），不敢強拆違建、也不敢祭出新的政策約束住民肩負起管理房屋外觀的責任，歐洲很多國家都有規定公寓住宅達規定年限就得重新粉刷外觀並進行建物拉皮，不遵守者會被罰款。
而且很多國家竊盜率遠比台灣高，他們的居民根本不會自行給住宅窗戶加裝柵欄，台灣愛裝就裝、隨便亂裝，每戶都裝不一樣的，視覺上雜亂而無統整性，更加敗壞市容，除非台灣有一天能夠真正國家正常化，不再有惡鄰居威脅國家安全、不再受到各種認知作戰攻擊、政府才能不再受到選票的威脅，制定真正符合現今社會的各種規章。

My biggest complaint was the sidewalks when I was living in Taichung. Made me nervous.

Good points made. I hate the "modded" cars and scooters with basically tins cans on their exhausts. But luckily it's not too loud at night if you live outside of a big city, but loud motorcycles at night are more noticeable. I'll add another one to do with vehicles: People who never turn off their high beams and are determined to blind everyone coming in the other direction. Even during the day and in the cities!
And I totally agree about sidewalks. Have to walk on the road 90% of the time.
The high beams are the wooorst. I'm convinced they don't know they have them on
@@Prozzie I think the same. I've even had problems when someone behind me in town has their high beams on and it's like having two suns reflecting off my mirrors directly into my eyes.
@@Prozzie There is a traffic law requires any vehicles to turn on "daytime running lamp", but in older vehicles there was no such design, so the regulations become a "suggestion" to turn on the beam lights (大燈) in the old models. Which most don't bother to switch while driving between near and far high beams even in the daytime.
Back in the late 1980s, a lot of riders would turn off their headlights at night. I asked several people why this was done and I was told it was to save gas. I think the avoidance of blinding at intersections is a more plausible explanation.
1. Stinky Tofu stands.
2. Aunties on busses and subways.
3. Temple parades at all hours.
4. Earthquakes.
5. Typhoons.
6. Bicycles and scooters on sidewalks.
7. Slow-walkers on sidewalks.
8. Forecast says just cloudy but it starts pouring anyway.
9. Workers welding steel literally right over your head.
10. Hot Pot.

😂😂老建築真的很缺乏美感，半夜的飆車族會讓人崩潰。「沒有人行道只好往天堂走」這句讓我笑翻，不過確實，台灣交通確實很需要改進
相信在台灣生活過的人都不會否認你說的這些缺點，台灣的市容真的醜到靠北，建築外觀毫無美感，室內格局毫無邏輯，很普遍的現象
屁孩的排氣管真的蠻吵得，不過我覺得這方面美國玩勝台灣，只是美國得益於領土面積大所以這情況大幅緩解了
人行道是很兩難的問題，年輕世代比較會注重行人權力，我覺得這會是長達數十年的抗爭（等到上一個世代都消失:P）
垃圾車音樂聽久了感覺都快有PTSD了（不知道這有沒有國賠？）建議他們可以把音樂改成每周熱門音樂排行榜

I can see these, having lived here about a same amount time as Prozzie. Particularly the one about buildings, so grimy sometimes. Fortunately they add a lot of green stuff around. Makes environment more lively.

哈哈哈～～～雖然是抱怨，但我覺得好好笑。如果真的很討厭改裝排氣管的聲音，可以改住到小巷(尤其是無尾巷)，通常那種車無法在小巷飆車，小巷比較不容易聽到那種排氣管改裝過的機車聲。
真的邊看邊笑😂😂 說真的台灣人自己也覺得建築物老舊 交通的問題也很大 ~台灣需要改進的地方當然還是非常多 我也希望其他UA-camr能像prozzie一樣說實話 不要只是拍馬屁

一個人丟就馬上會有第二個人丟.即使掛了亂丟垃圾會有罰款,都無法禁止.這才是最氣人的部份.
Great video, as someone who was inspired to live in Taiwan by you and UA-cam I stayed for 6 months but did eventually want to go as most of the things you mentioned did get to me and actually made my application of my own country Australia more. One thing about the sidewalk is that in Taipei at least they were all built up to different levels in front of each shop so you would have to be careful not to trip over a large lip from one shop to another, I've never seen that lack of the same level in any other country. I think the proliferation of traffic lights might have something to do with the American culture and their lack of roundabouts? Also I agree with the building looks, they're all brown, green, grey or beige whereas in Thailand they paint them different bright colours. On the food I'd disagree with the weird flavour, I love them but it's the lack of spicy food and sometimes bland food I didn't like that much. In Taipei they do have nightlife districts like in xinyi near 101 but I was very disappointed to find the whole area around Ximending which is like Japan had no bars or clubs at all, just restaurants, KTV and cinemas. I prefer Thailand as a travel destination as they cater to tourists and partying much better and also everyone in the service industry can speak basic English. Taiwan is better to have a more quiet life and while being still cheap is more developed.
Lol classic. Yeah I often get annoyed about the noise, and annoying sounds. Imagine working at a family mart? They have to hear that jingle 75,000 times a day?
身為台灣人覺得非常的中肯，不管是優點跟缺點確實都是台灣目前的情況。
高房價真的是很痛苦的一件事情，台灣年輕人只能住在父母家或者在外租屋。
能靠自己實力買房的年輕人當然還是有的，但是可能在買房人口裡面不到3%吧。
現在比較希望台灣能夠推出類似日本的租售同權的法案，讓買不起房的人們至少可以租的安心不用擔心哪一天房東不願意續約而被迫搬離。
你說的都很對，我自己的看法你說的這些就是已經很習慣了，沒有太大的感覺，目前感覺你對聲音比較敏感點，我住的地方也常有汽機車的聲音，一但我睡著就再也什麼也聽不到，直到我醒來，還有一點薪資調漲 物價也會跟著漲 就算暫時物價沒漲，也不會撐太久，就會有各種理由出現調漲，台灣人就會開始罵政府 罵了又如何 商家非惡意調漲，政府管不著 只能請業者再考量漲幅問題。
我也討厭噪音，所以改騎電動機車，安靜無聲😁😁！ 等紅燈時不用再熄火了😄

Bravo! I agree every point you made in this video. I complained most of them to my family and close friends but I wouldn't say it out loud in office or public places because I will be labeled as arrogant, however, at the end of the day, there are more advantages in Taiwan that out weighs these inconveniences so I chosed to stay. I do wish people can listen to your points and start making improvements. One thing I believed you missed is - why those janitor ladies in the public men's room always have to do cleaning while I'm peeing.
