RSQ8 sounds great, looks great but kind of disappointed with the 1/4 mile times and traps for the mods and nearly 700awhp. Was expecting 120+mph traps. What was the DA?

Tesla should be obligated to fix a vehicle that isn’t performing to original specs within appropriate degradation of the battery pack (which should be effectively 0%). If you recall, Ford put out the 99 Cobra making 50+ rwhp less than the 98, even though it was advertised to make more. Long story short, Ford was sued (can’t recall if it turned into a class action, but was close), and Ford issued a bulletin and repaired all vehicles to proper spec.
The Audi exhaust noise at the end sounded the way old NASA rockets sounded after takeoff.
Probably used a similar amount of fuel too 🤣😂😂

This has to be escalated to a senior Tesla executive. It's sounds like it's just the local service center being LAZY. I have had a 100% success rate when I escalate things like these.

Something a little bit off topic here which, I'm sure, many others have asked about before: you have got to find us a sample of the latest 911 (992) turbo S coupe and throw it on the drag strip. I'm dying to see how quickly it can do the 1/4 mile on a decent track with decent grip. Thank you for your content.

It almost looked like it had full acceleration until half or 2/3 of the track then hit a speed limiter of some sort...
thats how teslas work when the battery is low. off the line its still very fast but the top speed suffers immensely
To me it looks like one of the silicon carbide coil motor driver is doing a thermal shutoff at peak power, because it is doing so in a couple of seconds (every 2-3s) and then recovers briefly a few times during the 12 second race. This brief shutoff of the SC driver will affect both motors during power distribution or, management. And, sure it will pass all diagnostics at Tesla because they don't reproduce the load stress. Diagnostics are run on the computers only, but nothing will tell them that one, or even two SC drivers fail at peak load... Maybe driver(s) got detached from their heatsink(s) at assembly or, who knows. Hope this helps. Thanks for the video.
The link to view the RSQ8 is confusing and couldn't find the car and what sort of kits it has.
RS Q8 did not perform like I expected. That's up 100whp and 200 ft-lb from what a Urus would be at, with 110% of the weigh.
+1. No way it was making 150 more crank hp than the Urus. Maybe 60-70 hp more. Either it wasn't making the power it made on the dyno, or the dyno was a bit optimistic. Still not bad for the money, but nowhere close to claimed.
If it’s the same car tuned vs non tuned like 2 rsq8s one tuned one not the tuned one should win by .4 - .6 in this case the urus is slightly more tuned than a stock RSQ8 (whatever it is 50 hp give or take) so it still won by almost .3 which is decent it was walking the urus the gap would have just gotten bigger and bigger. Performed pretty good imo, but all the times seem a lil slow to me so I’m guessing it’s a higher elevation above sea level or something else slowing them down
@@sneakerhead4770 It's pretty simple when you have two such similar cars/chassis/platforms. The trap speed differential cubed tells you the approximate power/weight difference. So the RSQ8 in a head to head run was about 2.2% faster. 1.022^3 indicates the RSQ8 had about a 6.5% better power to weight ratio. The RSQ8 is about 7% heavier. So that would indicate about 14% more total power. Or 90 hp more than the Urus. Good, but not 800 hp. Not even close. And coincidentally, the Urus picks about 80-90 hp with downpipes and a conservative tune too.

@@ChurchAutoTest So the figures suggest 696awhp and 800 at the crank which is 13% drivetrain losses? Not likely, most of the torsen quattro systems are minimum 15% losses which would make this a 820 crank car. So I suspect an overly optimistic dyno, like you say the RSQ8 is heavier than the Urus and I suspect the ZF TCU is not tuned so it'll be torque limited in the first 3 gears meaning a slower than potential time.
The sound of the car is very nice when there is no soft limit
Is the SF90 really 500 lbs heavier than the F8? If so, it might not run mid 9's like you're hoping for.

Seems I wouldn’t base my argument on 1/4 mile times & trap speeds & focus solely on horsepower loss. If the manufacturer says a car has X amount of horsepower & it doesn’t, seems exactly like VW lying about EPA numbers on their Diesel engines which cost them billions! Any attorney worth their salt should be able to eat this case pretty easily.
Exactly, Put it on a dyno and show that the model x is down on power. They promise horsepower / kW rating and it isn't making the claimed power number... Easy win

Seems to me that the battery was not warmed up or it was overheat?
The Model S and X has an upper speed limit setting in the MCU that will limit the top speed. is it possible it is activated? The "Speed Limit Mode" can be set per key fob, pick up the wrong key fob and it will be set, switch to another fob and it is inactive.
Did 146mph in it on the way home.

My Stock Kia Stinger isn’t that much slower than the Tesla. They have some modified Stingers running in the super low 11s now and some INFINITI Q50S run in the 10s. Would love to see a modified sedan shootout. If you are ever looking for content it would be cool to see a sedan shootout like that.
I was shocked to find out that the red sport was marginally different than the s. Easy to bump up to redsport levels.

What was the cost of the parts and tune for Audi? That helps determine if it makes a lot more sense.

The RSQ8 performed much better than I imagined. Tesla should definitely fix the issue on the Model X if not they will have problems in the future with other Tesla owners and perhaps a class action lawsuit that could perhaps kill the company’s future prospects.

The Tesla probably has a bad temp sensor somewhere so the computer thinks the battery is either too hot or too cold so it pulls power. There are apps that he can use to monitor temps and should be able to diagnose it.

you are forgeting every time you do a ludacris launch , it says batery and electric motor ware off , that means every time you use that you are making the battery and the engine weaker and weaker.
The customer service from tesla is really an eye opener.
Perhaps there's some battery degradation, but meets spec within the warranty guidelines. RSQ8 performed well, but that exhaust...idk.
