    In the older versions of INAV, there were a few other places that ARMING error codes would appear. One of those that still works is typing STATUS in the CLI and it'll show you what the arming flags are. You should always see 'CLI' when connected to the model via configurator, but if you see anything in addition, you need to investigate!

    Permanent autolaunch stumped me for a couple days on my first iNav build. Thank God you were there to point that out in a comment when I was stumped as to why my motor wouldn’t spin up on the bench. 🎉🎉🎉

    Awesome videos !!!! I have set all the controls as per vids on YT. Even though I built quads with betaflight, I missed one important step to arm my Build. A Atomrc Dolphin. I had everything in INAV working ,but forgot to lower my throttle setting which was set to high. Reduced to 998 in the tx/INAV Receiver tab, and it arms now. Onto vids for auto launch and auto tune/trim. Thanks for all the knowledge shared P360.

    The thing I keep running into is that I'll start tweaking things when the sun goes down, and I find I upset something after I go to the field. It's pretty good practice to bring along a cheap laptop to access the configurator. The last one I did was trying to manually set GPS config, and iNav didn't like what it was seeing, so it just angrily ran the beeper at me.

      Ah, the dreaded 'late night tinkering'! I always like to take a 'Diff all' from the model before I start, in case I end up going down a rabbit hole and forget where I started out from! Seasons Greetings!

    I just got back into the hobby and purchased Speedy bee 405 wing controller. Is there a way to setup for only one aileron servo or do I need to run two leads to the controller? I am using it on a Volantex 1600. Keep up the great work. Alex. P.S. Merry Christmas

      I was playing with this only this week. Trying to get only one aileron output was tricky. You could plug the y-cable into one of the outputs. Best of luck

    I heard that proper shileding of GPS module cables also helps to shield RF noise interference and get faster GPS lock. Any thoughts?

      I've never seen that on my builds. That only tends to happen when signal wires are run alongside other wires carrying large AC currents... Happy flying

    I have a 6 channel radio and would like to enable Arming and Autotrim (for maiden flight). My thought would be to use a 3 position switch such that AutoTrim is activated for position 0 &1, and Arming is activated for position 1 & 2. I would do this so that when I land the plane after the flight and then disarm (position 0), the trim settings will be saved to the board. I would then do something similar, but replace AutoTrim with AutoTune. Will this work?

    • @Painless360
      @Painless360  4 місяці тому

      You could use the arming switch like that but be careful adding any other functions to it. It can be a little too easy to disarm by accident (I speak from experience! :D )

    I have older GPS which only gets maximum 10 satellites. How many you need for 3D lock , how to decrease amount of HDOP inav needs to arm motor on my wing?

    My FC has a barometer in it. Suddenly the barometer icon and 'Hardware Health' flag on the Inav status page turn red. What should I do?

    • @Painless360
      @Painless360  Місяць тому +1

      I've never seen that. If you're not using it then you can disable it in the sensors section. I'd inspect the PCB if you haven't changed anything in case of dirt or something causing it to error. Best of luck

      @@Painless360 Update. For the barometer, if I plug in the Lipo and the GPS acquires some satellites I can arm the drone. Then I plugged it to the computer and the barometer icon is blue and the Hardware Health flag is green.

    Mine still unable to arm with "navigation is safe" being crossed red.
    I have ensure no navigation mode is activated during arming, but no luck. I even disable GPS navigation, and thus deactivating the navigation modes entirely, yet, still unable to arm, waiting for GPS lock.
    I want to test my build indoor. This annoying error drives me crazy. I have 2 build that have the very same error.
    What things I missed here actually?

      It could be a few things but you've only told me you've checked the GPS nav modes and GPS lock... What else? What is showing in the arming flags at the bottom of the screen ;)

      @@Painless360 arming flag shows "waiting for gps lock, unable to arm". It is weird. i didnt activate any navigation modes. even, i disable the GPS on configuration to remove it from being referenced by INAV. but the error still there

      @@Painless360 INAV 6.1.0 on speedybee wing F405 FC. Both of my build using this FC and experience the same error.
      I believe there was some setting somewhere. Because previously, i was able to arm indoor without "navigation is safe" error. But once the GPS was activated, GPS lock requirement cannot be turned off anymore. It will always require GPS lock everytime to arm although I already deactivated the GPS

      I've never seen that here as I use a GPS with INAV all the time. Sadly, getting help from the developers on an old version is tricky so I would see if the problem persists with INAV 7.1.2,...

    Hi,
    I am being very specific but if you could help or make a video would be great. I am unable to arm an E flite 10 amps pro ESC with Speedy bee f405 flight controller.
    In INAV I have been able to achieve the arm status but the ESC does not arm. Could it mean that the flight controller is armed by ESC is not? And why could it be? Can you make a video or explain? Would be grateful.

    • @Painless360
      @Painless360  4 місяці тому

      What troubleshooting have you already done?

    • @revert2theStr8path
      @revert2theStr8path 4 місяці тому

      @@Painless360 I am able to arm the flight controller in INAV. once armed, I connect the battery/ESC while transmitter is already on and at throttle full low position (1000us). The ESC gives a long beep followed by 3 beeps indicating cell count but nothing after that.
      I also tried to run the motor using INAV output tab as per guidelines provided by you but nothing happens except the same beeps I told you earlier.
      I am not sure if it's something related to throttle range or what. INAV doesn't show any arming flags. It's shows armed even then when I plus the battery into ESC nothing happens after cell count beep.

    • @revert2theStr8path
      @revert2theStr8path 4 місяці тому

      There is one thing though about which I am not sure. As soon as the throttle moves above 1100 us INAV says arming_disabled_throttle. Could it be possible that the ESC can only read a throttle value between 1200-1800 by default and a throttle setting below 1100 is good enought for the flight controller to arm but not for the ESC? If true how do I overcome this problem? Any suggestions? Like how to increase arming disable throttle value from 1100 to something like 1220 etc.
      I am also unable to enter the programming mode of the ESC with throttle set to full up and then plugging the battery to ESC while flight controller is still on via USB.

    • @Painless360
      @Painless360  4 місяці тому

      That sounds like a good set of checks. If you can't run the ESC from the motor check in Configurator then I'd suspect that it isn't getting a signal. Check the wiring and ESC protocol... Happy flying

    • @revert2theStr8path
      @revert2theStr8path 4 місяці тому

      Thanks for your response. The ESC protocol is set to standard as suggested by speedybee technical support team.
      And when you say wiring. Which wiring do I exactly need to check? Could it be an internal problem with the flight controller? Or the wires I have connected to the S1 outlet of F405 wing app controller are faulty? Because the servo is getting the voltage.
      Which wires would you recommend checking?
