I've put off moving over to iNav 7 but this is very compelling stuff. Having to use CLI to adjust the roll orientation seemed a little silly compared to having a GUI.

Just a quick question for you. I am using the Speedybee F405 wing FC. I am using the rudder channel but as a pass through so the F405 is not controlling the rudder but I am on my Radiomaster boxer radio. I am using Inav. Can I do a aileron to rudder mix on the radio and not effect the FC? Or is there a way to do it though Inav? Thanks for your help and your great videos. Regards from Montreal, Canada.
@Livinglifeat60 Not sure if I have missed something here and I am no INAV guru, however, by saying 'passthrough' do you mean that you have a mixer rule in the INAV Mixer that allocates a servo for your rudder with an input of RC Yaw? If so, all you have to do is add another mixer rule in INAV that uses the same servo number, but the input will be RC Roll and a weight of your choosing. By using 'RC roll' it will be unstabilised. Be aware that the mix is accumulative and application of both aileron and rudder will enhance (OR cancel) the control surface throw.
Yes you can, so long as the only output affected on the radio is the rudder. You can also setup that mix within INAV and reconnect the rudder to the FC too... Happy flying
Thanks for the video. I have a Beitan GPS antenna without any arrows. In My OMP Bushmaster, I've mounted the Matek F405 Wing backwards (180 degrees). Upgrading to INAV 7.0, I didn't notice the new alignment feature until I watched your video. When I looked up this, I discovered the arrow on the GPS points backwards. In your video, I didn't quite get which way the GPS arrow should point, the same way as the FC, or in the flight direction?
Such helpful videos Love your style, I have a question for all comers; I am flying a14-year-old KDS 450 Heli, no flight controller just a basic Gyro, still flies great, however, I can't bind the KDS K-8X receiver to My TX16s mk1 running OpenTX 4n1, Suggestions on a good easy to bind receiver Please. My the model in the setup tab is 180 from my multirotor. But my multirotor is calibrated correctly as in pointing in the right compass heading. All axis move correctly and multirotor flys great and all gps functions are great. Do you know why the setup model is 180 different? Thanks for your time.
Hi your channel is very helpful for beginners like me,I really appreciate your work,I use speedy bee f405 wing and gps bz 181 model without compass everything is stable until I get the gps fix after the gps fix the there is a constant change in the roll, pitch and yaw, what is wrong and how to solve this issue. I need your help and Thanks in advance
Hello, how are you, a big greeting from Colombia, sorry, I'm starting out in the world of fpv wings, but the truth is there are many videos and a lot of information, could you make a video explaining the step by step configuration of a wing, with inav 7.0. 1 more videos from this year please, I am very interested in learning
Wow, I've needed this feature for a long time, in INAV 2.3 approx there was a FC alignment tab that disappeared and had to be ALIGNED IN CLI!!! And it still didn't work properly.
Nice explanation Lee. What if the GPS/Magnetometer doesn't have an arrow screenprinted on it, is there any way to determine the front? I am referring specifically to the Walksnail WS-M181 GPS; not only did they reverse the SCL/SDA labels, it seems like they forgot to label the 'front' as well.
You actually managed to get the compass to work on the walksnail gps ? so many people are ending up with duff items either badly labelled or they don't work at all , i tried everything in ardupilot and inav and reversed the rx/tx and it just don't work , binned it now and fitted a ublox ............no more problems
Hello. After you did all that and the fc being in a different orientation, why is the calibration off? The setup tab shows the plane moving correctly but the calibration tab has it still mounted in the default orientation. Does this matter? Or the orientation is irrelevant?
@Painless360 so I'm using a quadcopter board. The Speedy bee f405. Do I have to set up the motor timing in the CLI for the servos if I use the motor outputs for them ? It seems like the F7 FC's I didn't have to reconfigure the motor timing. Maybe I'm just missing something. You're about one of three people that I found videos about how to use a drone FC on a wing on a wing very very limited information on it
Hi Lee im so glad i just found your channel, thankyou for your kindness in sharing so much of your amazing knowledge, Im trying to develop a long range fpv plane its taking me forever, but if I had just 10 % of your brains then maybe I could do it in a month, so there for I am very confident that you could do it in a week much better than I could ever dream of, so I think it would be a lot easier for me to just pay you to do it for me, what do you think ?, how much would you charge me for a week of your time ? mean while thanks again for all your excellent up loads, new subscribe here , 👍👍👍

@@Painless360 is it necessary to face the drone to NORTH before calibrating the compass? coz when I calibrating the compass without knowing where the north point I always got negative value for all z, x and y

Not a bad instruction - BUT why didn't you address the fact that pitch and roll are not right? If PITCH is changed that means nose up/down. If ROLL is changed it should roll-not pitch. A bit of work is needed yet to make this great tool more realistic. Thanks for your videos

To the nose of the model. Remember, this alignment for the GPS unit only applies if you are using the compass. Best of luck
Is it possible to use SpeedyBee f405 fc and esc stack on a plane? Like Atomrc Dolphin?
Why use the WING version?

It is usually that the FC had been mounted like that. Best of luck
Is the motor order automatically compensated for when you realign the FC?
I don't think so. You'd have to sort it out via the outputs... Happy flying

Mount it and see if the model rotates when tilted. keep trying till it doesn't... that'll be the 'front'.
The HGLRC and Flywoo M10 units are the same - no arrow. Can you use the dot in the corner of the chip to determine which direction is the "front"?
I use the method mentioned. Sadly there isn't a 'rule' every GPS follows (but most do).

For timers, outputs are normally grouped into sets. In modern INAV, you can select what each timer group is used for, servos or motors... best of luck
