    I like to also use the Special Functions "play track" function to give me audible confirmation for every switch movement. When I move my arming switch to "arm", my radio announces "armed". When I set my mode switch to manual, my radio announces "manual mode". And so on, for every switch movement. I like having this audible confirmation that I have selected the correct switch and set it to the correct position. It gives me confidence, and allows me to quickly identify and correct mistakes, and helps avoid those "holy cow, what is happening and why?" moments.

      That is a great idea. I did do that but I will change modes depending on what I want to do so now I rely on the LUA script to tell me. Happy flying!

    Great video Lee.... Very timely for me as I just upgraded from a JTX16 -> RMT16SMax. My first iNav flight with my trusty AR900 had some strange problems. Autolaunch went great but when I got in the air and switched to Manual mode the craft lost power and kept switching between acro/stab flight modes.... I suspect it is related to the gimbal trims and the over-driving concept you mention in this video so I adjusted all the substrims for 1000-2000 with a 1500 middle on all the relevant channels. Hoping this clears it up next time I fly.

    When setting the output offset you can set one Global Variable to 98.0 or whichever value and then just refer to that value on all the channels. That way you only have to set it once.

    Hi Lee. Just getting into FPV and I’m finding your videos extremely helpful. Could you recommend a good user friendly transmitter? Would you consider the RadioMaster fits the bill? Appreciate your advice.

    • @Painless360
      @Painless360  3 роки тому

      Sadly any Opentx radio can't currently be described as user friendly. They are incredibly powerful but you will not to watch the first half a dozen videos in my Opentx mix school series. Bangalore for the buck, they are hard to beat. See my kit picks 2020 video for my choices... Happy flying

      I'm 55 most of the work is easy in Open tx. To me open tx I nav.. beta flight most the work done. Stock tunes work great. Crossfire just works.. lol as cheap as it is now. Stater kits with 3 nanos and transmitter a must. Radio is is just joysticks. But planes you need a more knowledge of open tx. Computer skills a must too. 4 year's in hobby. My mistakes. Not getting crossfire..and and a armotton frame. When learning you crash allot. Ts100 solder iron must to. DJI if can afford. Anlog vtxs get damaged easy.. and allot more soldering. I was replacing anlog vtxs allot. For drone's I use frsky lite. Easy to pack and cheaper.. but planes radio master hard to beat. Switches break easily. Big too and heavy. Get a toolkit rc charger. Bye battery's on ebay during winter can get 10 for 100 bucks. 5s 1500mah 100c I get 10 every year. But I fly 5 times a day at least. DJI has resale value.. I suppose?? Never see on eBay?? Lol that's my two cents Enjoy the hobby I love!

    Hi there, need help please, have just purchased a qx7 access radio. The rfrsky receivers we purchased will not bind, we have tried newer firmwares and updated radio firmware from files downloaded from the frsky product site. Should we upgrade to firmware sourced from the openTX site instead? I now fully understand the pain people are going through

    RE: Output - I just noticed that my output min and max are reading 512.0 instead of 100.00 - any idea why that may happen? This is true for all my models and when a new model is created.

    Hello,
    I do have one question if you have time to answer. If money was not a problem and I was looking for a new radio to get back into the hobby as I used to fly top-of-the-line JR before, would you go for spectrum or open TX
    Kind regards Steve

    • @Painless360
      @Painless360  3 роки тому

      That is a loaded question as radios are such personal choices and what suits one, may often not suit another. The TX16s is the default choice for modern multi-protocol OpenTX powered radios but they can be hard to use and setup thanks to OpenTX..

    Lee I received my radiomaster tx16s today, and I know the rule about if its not broken don't fix it, but I wanted to update my OpenTX firmware to the newest. Now the Version currently on the TX is 2.3.9-otx date 2020-6-14, and currently on the SDcard is opentx-tx16s-bluetooth-flexr9m-lua-em-2.3.9-otx.bin
    Now on the Radiomaster website in the downloads area their are 3 Bin file, question is do I download the opentx-tx16s-en-2.3.11-otx.bin? is the otx the relationship I look for in the firmware.

    I don't think the failsafe was clear. One of the perks of running a fc with a RTH function is to have the plane RTH in case of lost connection. Does that have to be set up as custom or just no pulses?

    • @Painless360
      @Painless360  2 роки тому

      Check out my INAV for beginners series. If you are using a digital connection from the Rx to the FC (like SBUS or CRSF) then the fail-safe condition is reported to the flight controller automatically, irrespective of the fail-safe setting on the radio. Once the FC has been told there is a fail-safe then it'll do what ever action you told it to (RTH, land etc.).

    Why servo oscillation occurs when the 900mhz receiver put near wing servo. Its horrible, is any solution

    • @Painless360

      The only options are to reduce the amount of interference that the servo hears. Shielding via Mumetal or increasing the physical separation of the two is the best option..

    Hello I am considering to get a Pixhawk for my TX16s.
    For Lidar, is there a way to program Altitude callouts similar to the GPWS system of airliners?
    And could you do the same with speed sensors?
