75 year old HATES her age. 95 year old LOVES her age

  • Tonight I talk to my 75 year old Mom and my 95 year old Grandma about why women don’t want people to know their real age.
    Sassy Gran Doris embraces her age and my mother is depressed by it. Is age just a number?
    Do wrinkles, Botox and surgery make a difference in how you feel about aging or is it more than skin deep? Is it society?

      Women are judged for their looking and their age by society, by men, by other women and sad but true even by themselves.

      Ur wrong. Women judge men all the time, and most men do not age well. Women age much better, live longer and take care of themselves better. You’ll rarely see a man 90-95 look as fashionable as Sassy Gran. Men r much more lazy about taking care of themselves, except gay men.

      Many women don’t want older men either, but they don’t show it off like the aging guys do. Many women go out with younger men cause they have more energy. Many women reach their sexual peak later, and younger guys fulfill that. U r living 40 years ago if u haven’t realized women r dating younger men too. It’s not about looks, it’s about energy level. By the way, many of those men r not happy cause younger women just want them for their money, whereas older women just want younger guys for laughs, fun, and sex.

    • @LGAussie
      @LGAussie 3 роки тому +7

      Very few men get younger women too. Most men do not age well at all. Many balding by 40. U don’t see very many men with younger women. U only see the very wealthy older men getting them cause the younger ones use them. They r not getting love, they r getting actors. Women who will act for a long time that they love the older man, but they’d be gone if his money dwindled to average. It’s a great subject, but clearly, ppl r very unaware how older ppl think and I see a lot in both elderly men and women. It’s not much different after 50 in either sex. Maybe even after 40. It’s a subject worth discussing, but ppl need work on how to handle aging and vanity, both sexes.

    “Why women don’t want to tell their age?”
    Because society says that ageing is bad when you are a woman, and women don’t live in a cave but in society. Men look less & less at her. She gets less jobs opportunities, gets more inconvenience due to her advanced age (menopause, gray hair, wrinkles etc.) And she sees her succession every single day, every day: young, beautiful and fertile women. As a constant reminder of what she isn’t anymore. Ageing women are pushed in the coffin of society while still alive! to give way to new & pretty young women. And for some women it’s painful, especially if you were the Brigitte Bardot or the Marilyn Monroe of your time. The fall from grace can be tough to deal with and this is the main reason why so many women turn to surgery. To delay that fall from grace.

    • @LGAussie
      @LGAussie 3 роки тому +21

      An extreme amount of men r very unhappy about getting older, they just don’t vocalize it, but many get secret nips and tucks. My friends plastic surgeon says more and more men have nose jobs, Botox, and face lifts!! Very few age like Sean Connery. So, it’s not just women. Men just disguise their discontent better. I hear women comment all the time how men age. Everyone needs to stop worrying about looks. Look what it’s done to Millenials and Gen Z already exposing their boob and butt shape on instaagram constantly. It’s borderline porn. Some even is porn.

      When I am asked about my age, I always ask the person to guess. I will ask, am I over 35 or v under? Then, am I over 45 or under? I have been hit on recently by a group of older teens. They thought I was home for summer from college. If I had had a dozen 100 dollars bills, I would had given them each one. It has to be my red hair and being 5 ft 2 and the freckles. When I first moved home from college, the neighborhood children thought I was 16. They would come ring the doorbell and ask my my brother, he is a year younger, if I could come out to play. My little 6 ft 3 brother would tell them to hold on,he shut the door and come to my room and tell me my little playmates were at the door and was needing me to play. They liked to hit the ball. And no one wanted to throw or pitch the ball. So I had 2 year olds up to 12 year olds to watch over.

    It broke my heart when Mom told the story about what happened at the party but that is reality. I am 58 years old, have long hair and can definitely relate to her comment. For the past few years I have been embracing my age. I don't feel my age, I like my long hair and have decided I don't really care what people say anymore. I also like to wear tight pants and started dabbling into make-up when I turned 50. I hope to look and feel like Sassy Gran and Mom when I get to be their age. 💗

    It’s EXACTLY how your mother said. I didn’t realize I was “older” until I was leaving a bookstore and it started to downpour. A guy ran over with an umbrella to walk me to my car, then he got a good look at my face and without a WORD splashed off as QUICK as his fancy sneakers would take him.
    I couldn’t understand what had just happened; men have always done things like this but never did they RUN before saying anything….
    Suddenly the light switched on: I’m 5 1” 108 lbs, dark blonde hair to my waist slices of grey only around my FACE (first clue), heels, skinny jeans and I’m 64…. Now I get it… it’s a tough realization.
    Ive never cared for the attention I found it invasive, I dress nicely for me and well, it’s the way I dress! When this happened, it was like a hard slap right between my slightly sagging eyes, the slightly longer nose and the flapping earlobes!!!
    I’ll come here more often because; WE ARE STILL HERE!!! We’ve spent a lifetime teaching those that’ll come after us, so I guess we keep teaching!! Thanks to you three….

      That’s not true. I’m around all aged men in my business. Men actually don’t age as well as women. Many go bald or balding young. Men don’t talk about it, but r very self conscious nonetheless. Many get Botox, Bose jobs, fillers, and nips and tucks. They just don’t talk about it. They wear caps to hide their balding hair. Men do not age like Sean Connery, very few do. It’s actually shocking how bad some men age. It’s a myth that they get more distinguished. Some do, but few. This world shouldn’t be about age, and looks anyway. It should be about fun! We’re all here a short time! We should all be making each other laugh, and that de-ages everyone. Love and laughter only should be everyone’s motto from now on.

    Why are so many of us so hard on ourselves? Also, when people talk to you like they did to your Mom, that sticks with you, no matter how many others tell you how beautiful you are!
    I think the reason for this age issue is the extreme pressure on women to be a perfect 10 - and look like they’re still 25. Men do it to women, and women also do it to women. Society harshly judges a women on her looks and there’s immense pressure to look young and perfect. Growing older is difficult for women, since they’re judged by their looks for most of their lives.

    Oh my goodness, your mom made my eyes water when she said what they said about her. I think she's beautiful as a 75 yr old! Listen to your son, he's speaking the truth! My son tells me all the time I need to stay home because I go out dancing all the time in my heels with my blonde wig (I'm a dark skinned black woman) & I'm 56 yrs old. After a certain age you should care less about the haters & live your life like the beautiful queen you are...you see (your mom) Sassy Gran is doing just that!! Be Blessed.

    I recently heard in a program I watched, “Everyone wants a kitten, no one wants a cat.” This was being quoted from the 80’s.
    I had to laugh because in terms of the double standards of aging on certain levels it seems true. These are messages as older woman sadly we have grown up with. As an older woman, I understand both of your mother and grandmother’s points of view. Your mother and grandmother are beautiful woman. I think many of us could write a book on how we have watched and or experienced the double standards of aging between men and women. What I do see is that my confidence doesn’t stem from what others think of me. Women or men. It comes from within and feeling good in my skin. Yeah, I have moments when I wish I looked 20 years younger. However I would not change the wisdom, insight and growth I have achieved to go back in time. The hell with societal expectations, I am proud of all the silver hair on my head. I’ve earned them.

      Exactly, and everyone wants a puppy, not an old dog. Even tho it’s a saying about ppl, it resonates with animals too. I have seen ppl give away their aging pets to others who r willing to take them. I have a neighbor who changes out her pets every 5 years. She contacts elders who r alone.
      I lose respect for those types.

      It's crazy too, as a cat is a cat much longer than it's a kitten, and same with women.
