FACTS 💯!!!! I'm still crying, I grew up with an alcoholic abusive father as well!!!! My mother has a steel plate in place of her left cheekbone because he shattered it from one of the last beatings I can remember & her eyes were swollen shut for 6 weeks!!! He made us 4 kids sit on the fireplace across from the couch in the living room where he had our mother beating her & made us watch the entire time!!!! I was 5 years old at the time...that's only one of a few memories of my childhood before the age of 8 years old I can even remember...Years later when I went into counseling, my counselor told me that I've blocked ALOT of memories out due to the trauma I experienced...Anytime I've tried to question my father about any of the things he did, he goes off & refuses to speak about any of it!!!!! I'm almost 52 years old now & still have no closure to ALOT of things from my childhood & I'm back in counseling AGAIN because I'm still having struggles with ALOT of issues!!!!!

The story of what Sassy Grandma and her kids went through reminds us to be kind to one another, we don't know what others are going through or went through in life. Sometimes our environment shapes who we are whether we choose to forgive and move on or be stuck in a rut of a vicious cycle. Blessed your kind heart Gio for reaching out to your uncle and reuniting the family. What a man your uncle turned out to be, God bless him ❤ 🙏🏻🙏🏻 What a touching story 😢!
Giovanni you are a real gem. Your heart is so pure. I love watching all these videos. I feel like I get bits and pieces of the whole story. Could you ever do a video explaining your life beginning to now and grandmas life beginning to now. This video helped so many that have been abused or neglected as children. It’s so good to know your not alone. And I totally get what your uncle is saying about how his dad needed help. I believe that no one person is that bad. It’s all in what you were taught and how you cope with life’s obstacles. I’m not saying he was right for what he did to his family but I’m sure he had a story as well.
Wow, my heart right now Giovanni!!! This is such an amazing, heartfelt recognition of the past... My mother went through horrific acts at the hands of her father and mother... I adore this...our generation has to learn to understand, forgive, and make things better...we are the The One's to break the generational curse. And to do that, we have to speak it's truth....they need to speak their truth too.
Wow!! It sounds like Gramps needed a good beat down from a bigger guy once in awhile if he picked on Grandma or his kids! But what a loving uncle, a real sweetheart. May I segue immediately and say that Mom looks so adorable in her dress and coordinated hat!! I LOVE the colors she chose. She looks so stunning! Her hair color goes so well with it too. She should just stain her lips that color. Sephora has some nice ones. Then she’d look beautiful without ppl knowing she has makeup on. She looks so naturally gorgeous today in that look. The deep red stain would go well with that natural look. I love it! 💛🤩⭐️
Gramps probably grew up receiving endless beat downs himself from his own elders who prob also buried their issues in a bottle . Gio is such a wise, caring grandson and nephew and has helped break the cycle of sadness that still seems pretty evident in Uncle Rick . So sad that he still believes he deserved his dads anger .....forgiving oneself seems to be the deepest & most damaging legacy of trauma and abuse .

I just started watching this channel.... this is an incredible interview with a powerful message!!! God bless you Giovanni and your family!
I had tears in myeyes listening to this interview... 😢 😢 😢
WoW! Your Uncle looks just like sassy Gran. That smile, his voice.
I cant imagine sassy gram getting beat 😥😥😥😭😢that hurts my heart so bad. Hurts my heart that Rick was beat too. He was a child!
God bless him. God bless all y'all.

Watching this again now, as a abused kid (got a lot of beatings) I can relate to everything he is saying! Now that Doris is in heaven she is a light and she knows.....
@Deborah Nieling
I'm with you. Horrific childhood of every type of abuse a child could suffer...forgiveness hasn't overcome me yet....working on it
I'm glad you connected with your uncle after so many years. The eyes! I can see those beautiful blue eye run deep into your family. Even your uncle has those blue eyes that shine so brightly blue.
Such a beautiful testimony! Your uncle is such an inspiration of love and forgiveness! Sometimes it’s hard to forgive but if you’re willing then GOD helps you! Christ forgave us and we have to forgive! Love y’all and this truly made me cry because it’s such a beautiful story of your uncle how horrible it was as a child but love overcame all the bad!!
Your uncle really enunciates like his mother and I too believe he resembles his mother.
I'd love to see a family reunion...I think you all need it!
The love....
This melt my heart, what a lovely and strong man 💙
I've learned that every sibling has a different take on their history growing up. None is wrong or right, just different and we have to respect and not argue about it. Good for you for embracing it and exploring it all despite all your success to understand more.
😅someone added the settlement junk I’m upset about it I just was saying how y’all resembled
Giovanni, you are truly a wonderful and kind hearted person. This video made me cry, and give such insight to my own upbringing. same
The story of what Sassy Grandma and her kids went through reminds us to be kind to one another, we don't know what others are going through or went through in life. Sometimes our environment shapes who we are whether we choose to forgive and move on or be stuck in a rut of a vicious cycle. Blessed your kind heart Gio for reaching out to your uncle and reuniting the family. What a man your uncle turned out to be, God bless him ❤ 🙏🏻🙏🏻
What a touching story 😢!
Your grandmother and uncle are truly forgiving people. God bless them. He looks a lot like Sassy Gran. They endured much pain.
What a beautiful soul! He brought me to tears.
Gio, Bless you. You are wonderful ❤️
Uncle really looks Granny, he got Granny looks
I would love to see more of your uncle !😁 ❤️I'm sure alot of other people would 2.
Oh my...what a sincerely lovely man...his Soul shines bright! 💫💫💫
Love this so much wisdom! The world needs this
Wow they are so similar the way they move there head on an angle, talk and that lovely little giggle they both have.
I suffered abuse daily as a child! I understand his pain but I also understand the joy of breaking that pain and abuse
Your Uncle Rick is an awesome man! He truly is a favored child to our Lord. Jesus Christ! I want to grow up to be just like him!
You, young man, are an amazing man too. You are a favored child as well. You gave your grandma such a beautiful life and you’re doing the same for your beautiful mother. You are an awesome man! Wish it was in the cards that I could meet you one day.
May God continue to richly bless you!
Mary
This was a really good film you did here Gio. First with the two gorgeous ladies that we dearly love, and then with your uncle! He’s amazing and speaks the truth. Wow! You are one very lucky guy to have such beautiful family! Thankyou for sharing! You brightened my day!
Your beautiful grandmother will be so missed. My sympathies.
Nearly brought me to tears....I just love Sassy Uncle Rick!
Sassy Uncle Rick... love it (and him) ❤️
That poor man, he sure was torched as a child, no child deserves to suffer. I’m glad that now he’s happy.
