Haley seemed like they had a lot of resentment towards the other women, like they were to blame for a stigma that has been alive for decades. Body shaming works both ways and I think that's a lesson they need to learn before going forward in a "body positive" career. They're not your enemy, sociatal expectations are. Aside from that, everyone was very kind and open, there's some good insight here.

I'm a runway photographer and pure fashion models don't get paid alot. Agency signed models, probably 70% earn around $80-150K. Which is still good money for avg person, just the influencers earning skews it.

its not take home, they get taxed on it. You get a w2 after working with a company, meaning you generally get taxes withheld per paycheck based on your tax exemptions (single/married/a homeowner/a parent)tax rates in california, where i live, is roughly 20-25% of your gross income. Someone making 60k a year makes 45kish a year take home. 115k post that tax rate is about 90k per year. considering jubilee is based in los angeles, safe to assume most of these people are relatively local. 90k doesn't go quite as far in los angeles as it does witchita kansas. Plus the typical "streamer" is such a hollywood/LA situation

I respect how much work they put into making that much money and most of the group was very humble about it. I think the plus size model does a lot and I think it’s good to be confident and feel proud of what you are doing, but I lost respect at the skinny shaming comments and talking about her work hours felt a little much to me. Otherwise I respect the transparency and humbleness from the others, and for Grace for being chill even when see was getting attacked for no reason.

@@noodlesrgood1119 I think it’s easy to say that when you aren’t in similar situations. You’d be surprised at how much work a lot of them probably do behind the scenes. We see a surface level of their livelihood which makes it look fairly easy or fun, but that’s not always the case. Maybe it is easy for some, but even if it’s not physically a lot, it could definitely be mentally taxing depending on the job. You just never really know until you see it for yourself
the only hard work haley does is grabbing doughnuts using them as weights while eating them when shes on break.

This was accurate to the income of the successful influencers that I know or have heard of. Some of my friends started Twitch accounts during quarantine and now pay their rent with the funds...It's a they aren't rich but they aren't struggling deal.

Just have to add in one thing. The large LARGE majority of content creators basically make no money at all from it. She's saying that most make 70-250k a year...but naaaaaah. Most of the creators out there don't do it as a full time job. And many who do are struggling. Don't glorify the job by only looking at the established figures.

it's only like 17x the average wage assuming all the subs are minimum paying, which they arent, and that she has no other income, which she definitely does. wouldnt worry about it.
it's at least as good as having that many subs on twitch.
She was saying it in relation to other larger OF creators. Kazumi really charges around $3/sub so she'd be making around 63k - 20% cut so just about 50k a month. Add onto that tips and stuff and it'd be somewhere around 100k-250k a month. Amouranth makes over 1.5 mil a month from OF.

I think Hayley was mainly just socially awkward. I think her intent was fine, but she was just nervous saying it- for example bringing awareness that the fashion model industry is super hard for plus size models is fine, trying to be proud of how much work you do is fine, being happy to be acknowledged by others as someone who seems successful is fine. She just came off a little intense and said things the wrong way because she’s awkward (I am too)
