My main takeaway is that Teddy needs to have a conversation with both Josh and Grace. He has similar or higher numbers of followers but only makes a fraction of what they do. Seems he is missing out on some opportunities for some reason.

The fact that people need to choose between "ethics" and "profit" is a sad statement on society... very true but still sad.
Fun to watch Brianne... try and settle for "two of 3" sort of.

Swap 'profit' for 'resources' and 'ethics' for 'do right by others' and you'll quickly see why. This is a brief moment in time, and in the end, all that will have mattered is this; did you reproduce or not?

I agree with you about the difficulty of being a Social Media Influencer, Brianne. I'm almost exclusively a UA-cam watcher and some of the people that I follow have channels with subject matter that's quite time consuming to produce. That being said, I'd bet every penny I have that none of them work as hard as my sister, who's a Social Worker for Child Protective Services. The other day she started at her usual 8am, worked until 12:30am and then was back at 8am again that day. That was an unusually long day(s), but it's not unusual for her to go in for "a couple of hours" read as 6hrs on Saturday or Sunday to work on the massive amount of paperwork that each case understandably requires. When she started working there she was given over 100 open files. Also, most influencers don't have dangerous jobs, the same can't be said about what my sister does, because even though some people might be either purposefully or otherwise, be a danger to their child, nobody reacts well to having their children removed from their care. Social workers have been killed by out of control parents. The workers used to always have police escorts for child removal calls. Now they usually only have an escort if the parent(s) has/have a history of violent behaviour, but every person with a history of violence had a first violent act. I worry that my sister will fall victim to this first-time violence. Also as far as I know, most influencers probably don't have a masters degree. I would think that the hardest parts of being a SMI would be having to be self motivated, worrying about first getting monetized and then having to worry about getting demonetized, thinking of ideas for videos, vile sexually violent comments and other disgusting bullshite, and the dread task of explaining to your elderly relatives what it is you do for a living. I admire anyone who can make a living online, but not as much as I admire my sister.
    Love your shit-show Brianne!

My hats off to every single influencer out there who does this because I certainly don’t have enough balls to do it! I don’t like having my pictures taken let alone brave the front of the camera just to say Hi 👋🏼 I use all the same “platforms” but certainly not to get rich…I’m definitely here for the entertainment! 🤔 hmmm, maybe feet and hand pics 💰No no, I take it back, not for me 😄 I’ll keep enjoying from a far. Sadly, I must admit that I had absolutely no clue who any of these people were nor do I think I’ve come across any of their work yet but I’ll keep looking.

Totally understand I picked this job and I think it’s worth the struggle, I have two other jobs for stuff and I’m able to pick up a bunch of shifts which absolutely will make that number go up a bit. Just frustrating that I put my heart and energy into a job that traumatizes the hell outta me and get paid nothing 😂 once again just complaining kindly :)

We ARE constantly criticising CEOs and the ludicrous salaries and bonkers payouts they get when the companies are downsizing staff and complaining about miniscule tax rates while recording record profits and investor returns. Influencers get a bad reputation for all the selfish ignorant stuff some of them do ruining nature trampling plants for a perfect shot or demanding free things because they have xyz followers etc. It's like anything, it's the few that ruin it for the many.

As a mental health professional, I just find it telling how our society values people even based on comparing my 70k salary to seeing these salaries. No hate to them, but it’s hard to believe that those of us who can’t “turn off” either because we’re supporting crises aren’t getting compensated nearly enough. Might explain our current situation with the lack of helping professionals because of capitalism and monetary support.

The whole care system is seen as expenses by the hardcore neoliberal capitalists. That's why it is always underfunded.
In countries following the Scandinavian model, the care system is seen as an investment in the work force. That's why they have much better funding.
It is statistically proven that a healthy population, both physical and mental, makes for a healthy economy.

Hayley constantly thought she was better than reality allowed. She kept putting herself in the top 3. ( was 2nd last ). OK, a "plus size model ", that is very neesh, relying on those that fit that shape ( lots ) , find her ( less ) and like her style ( taste is relevant ) OR the men that have that fetish ( everyone is allowed their kink, but is still a small group.) This isn't attacking what she is/does, just her attitude.
As for Brianne's ending note on " no one is upset at CEO's "... Many are rather peeved at those CEOs, but the owners of the media companies want to be in the position that gets those extremely rich granting favors etc.OR are also in that position so won't attack their peers. Politicians will not reform the system as they also want those "favors" to come their way.

I caught myself being overly shocked by the amounts they earned, but reminded myself that it’s not that they don’t deserve it, it’s just that I wish that those earnings could be possible in other some other industries (keeping in mind the work/life balance that being an influencer provides over normal 9-5s as well as the work environment). For example, you’ll never catch a teacher earning 300k a year and they certainly don’t get to have lunch with friends (or at all lol). I don’t claim to know anything about this topic but i do think it’s hard seeing these types of salaries (same as with big paid actors) when they’re not common in lots of industries.

Not going to lie, and perhaps I am out if the demographic of someone who would know these influencers, but I didn't know one. And when checking on the top three via Google, Top one has something that sounds like a flashlight, the second one I couldn't find anything at all on as too many false positive hits for other characters and media matches, and Josh is too generic. idk. Notice the girl in all black-Hayley immediately was the "leader" and the loudest from the start? The vintage shop girl who gracefully shrugged it off had class. Hayley's way of speaking is called upspeak. Can't stand it. After working for a non profit phone company making captions I cannot stand elongating random parts of words for no reason.
I think the older generation doesn't like influencers because they don't understand it, the 9-5 has been drilled into their head. The work hard and you'll be ok and live contently is clearly bs with cost of living. The influencers I tend to follow are about sustainability or even voice teacher reactions. Much rather follow these people than the Elon Musks of the world.
