hey my dude!! All top notch advice, and that the best after run oil I have found also, Ive been using either great planes or Hobbico after run oil since I first got into the hobby. Good point on not putting too much oil into the engine, generally more than 15 drops and it'll be tough to start for a .15 and under.
You're very welcome glad I was helpful for you I have many other videos like this that you might find interesting I also have a Facebook group if you would like to look at it very easy going group no nonsense. Nitro/diesel/gas rc and more if you want to check it out
Thanks for the info! I threw a new SH18 in my old T-Maxx last fall but unfortunately never put after run in it. Thought there would be plenty of opportunities before the snow fell but then our baby came and time slipped away. I need to get it out now that the weather is starting to warm up. Hopefully it’ll start up and won’t give me any issues
Hey no problem man and I have Terry down and clean up videos if you search down a little bit lower in my videos it's really easy just need a few things good luck I hope all goes well and congratulations on your little one!
What up bug. This is a awesome video. I seen you on Nitro Freak live. Everybody says dont run your rig out of fuel. My thought was what about of the rest of the fuel in the tank. Ty for your video bro👊
I do my own mixes in small drip bottles. Castrol full synthetic 2 stroke oil (Thats what i prefer) : 20ML ATF : 10ML Denatured alcohol : 2 - 5ML >>> When mixing methanol and oil, it is important to use an oil that is soluble in methanol
Yeah I've been blending my own fuel for many years on and off and as far as after run oil ATF works great Seem with Lucas air to a oil or a mixture of both.
@@thebug4046 i might be starting with making my own fuel too. Lots of company's making 0% Nitro ''bio fuel'' nowdays. I want to give it a try myself. 😁
My engines seem to gum up with 3 in 1, and worse with "After Run Oil". Ran some VP Powermaster Saito Mix 20/20, and that extra oil seemed to help....engine turned over smoothly after sitting for 1 1/2 years. Trying Air Tool Oil now, but haven't enough time yet for results.
@@skycorrigan6511 if it works it works! I did bar oil and atf mix to thin it a little and it's perfect same with Lucas air tool oil is another great one
I left everything sit for a few years no problem with rust but it's very thick and takes a bit to get the engine started. Lucas air tool oil is a better option. About 9$ for a 1L bottle
Interesting video!! Just got into nitro rc. So many videos out there & everyone claims there way is the best! Really liked this vid more info than some of the others they just trying to push there agenda lol. I didn’t know about running the fuel out of the engine & the tank at the end of the day? I just shut it down, make sure it’s at tdc, figured I will be running it the next day it’s fine? Well it’s been a couple days now lol. Definitely going to start doing this!! Thank you so much for a great vid!!🤩👍🏼
That's what you want to do is run it dry a fuel till it will no longer start it does not hurt the engine at all as there's more than 10% oil in most fuels which is a lot over 12.8 oz per gallon that's not gonna hurt anything that's how control line engines are they are designed to be run out of fuel at full speed hundreds if not thousands of times And make sure you store your engine at bottom dead center cause if it's at the top the cylinder Can pinch your piston and lock up your engine
Seems to be quite popular with a lot of people I have personally never tried it before because I can't get it here or at least I've never seen it in the stores but I'd be willing to give it a try

You are a plethora of knowledge sir. I’ve always used 3 in one oil. Not sure it’s the stuff I should use, but it seems to be very stable over time.
Thanks for watchin! And 3in1 seems to be pretty popular for aro Lucas air tool oil is another really good one to!

Air tool oil and ATF mix it 50/50 works awesome
Yeah I use that to but I use transmission fluid and Lucas gear oil very thin 50/50 mix
Best you can get 💯
I would think ATF would work well because it has a detergent and could help keep things clean also.
The oil that they use factory and one way bearings is an oil very similar depended for one way clutches. Works great for the last 25 years
You mentioned Rick from RWMods uses chain and bar oil. Do you know if that's what he sells? I just picked up a bottle from him.
He had mentioned it to me a handful of times. And I'm not sure what his formal is. But I have tried bar oil for long term and so far so good

Pull the glow plug and look down the cylinder until the piston is down and mark a spot on the flywheel. Or lean to feel Turing it by hand.
