Patio Table with Built in Ice Boxes (How to Build)

  • Just like the Outdoor 2x4 sectional we found this on Pinterest www.remodelahol...
    I actually was able to build to the table in 1 day but I pushed off the sanding and putting the stain on for about 2 months.
    I'm really happy with how this turned out, much better than I expected.

    Thanks for posting this video. I also found the plans on Pinterest, and seeing what you did was super helpful. Plus, as long as I finish in less than 2 months, I can tell my wife that I got it done faster than the UA-cam guy. I would have liked to see how you did the cuts on the 4x4 posts. That’s the one thing I can’t figure out. I may have to use a hand saw.

    • @MyDIYbyBrian
      @MyDIYbyBrian  4 роки тому

      It was a little sketch but I positioned my miter saw to make a 45 degree compound cut and held the would about 3.5 inches away from the center line. It made a great angled cut to drill into. I hope this helps. Cheers!

    i plan to make a cooler table but with less wood. i think also i will cut a hole for the cooler box and router rebate for it to sit flush, also with finger holes at the edges so it can be lifted out easily. great work.

    How has it held up with wood movement? All of that wood without room to move looks like warping or splitting would happen.

    • @MyDIYbyBrian
      @MyDIYbyBrian  4 роки тому

      The only issue was warping. I could have prevented that with better finish and wood joinery but since this wood was so cheap I just put so more pocket holes into it.

    How did you get that type of cut on the leg post that connects to the table with the miter saw. You don't show that in the video.

    • @MyDIYbyBrian
      @MyDIYbyBrian  8 років тому

      Whoops, sorry about that. I used my Miter saw at a 45 degree bevel or you could set a table saw at 45 degree with the fence approx at 2.75".

      We moved from there 5 year's ago, had a cat that we couldn't find to take with when we moved here to AZ. All our old neighbors still see that crazy thing wondering the neighborhood. I dig those chairs, I have family coming soon and no outdoor furniture by the pool, I am thinking of doing something like you did. Roughly how much $$ in lumber was all of this?

    • @MyDIYbyBrian
      @MyDIYbyBrian  7 років тому

      Justin Carter I think it was around 200-300 dollars for the table and each chair was 20-30. Of course that was just for the wood.

    Dont waste your money on the plans at remodleholic! There are better plans out there including youtube videos that show you how to build similar but better tables for free. I got cheated... had a feeling when there was no reviews (on the website). Also, if you take your time to build it correctly with the benches it takes more than 1 day (i.e. sanding & staining as you go).
