    Errata: Just after publishing this video, DJI released an update to the DJI RC, and added support for the Mavic 3 as well, so now you CAN use the DJI RC to control the Mavic 3, and you can buy it separately for $300.

    I don‘t know if I should buy the mini 3 pro or the fpv.
    For me the DJI Avata is to pricy, because it would be my first drone and I don’t know if I will use it often enough.
    The question for me is, with which drone I could shoot great pictures and create good minute videos. I want to upload the videos on UA-cam… What do you think?

    • @hml
      @hml  Рік тому +2

      Definitely don't buy the FPV as your first drone, and if you want to travel with it and take pictures. Get the Mini 3, you'll love it.

      Those are very different drones - Mavic 3 costs 3 times more, and weights 3 times more. It's very hard to go on a hike with the Mavic 3, but easy with the Mini 3. Just a few weeks ago I went to Crete in Greece, and I was thinking which drone to take with me - I took the Mavic, and then I thought "oh, the Mini doesn't weight anything anyway", and took it too.

    hello, can you or someone clarify what was said at 2:00 of the video, it needs a internet connection for the map? but am i able to still fly the drone and see what it sees on the screen of the controller without the internet connection ? and if so am i still able still be able to record to the SD? because if so what is the benefit of seeing the map on the controller if it in fact this is the ONLY thing the internet connection is required for?
    Thanx in advance for the answer!

    • @hml
      @hml  Рік тому

      Yeah, in order for the remote to show the map, it needs an internet connection. But you don't need a map to fly - you can fly just with the GPS, and the video transmission is shown properly, without internet. You just won't be able to see the features of the ground below the drone. You just see an empty circle instead of Google Maps. I find it very useful, especially when flying above water, to know where the drone is in the environment. But it also might be just because I'm used to seeing the map on all my previous drones. Not a big deal, and can be solved with a hotspot, but I hope DJI will add the ability to download maps offline in the future.

    Nothing beats breaking 100mph in Manual Mode with the Dji FPV... NOTHING!!! And I feel its' 4k Camera isn't bad at all. I would rather use it than over run my motors and battery with the extra weight of a gopro. I have two Dji FPVs, one as a backup unit, both with gemfan 5236 props w/ Aikon adapters. It was my very first real drone after wasting hundreds on cheap amazon/alibaba drones. I feel it made me a cautious pilot and I made sure I spent enough time in Sim before attempting Manual mode in real life. Flying in Manual is a true skill and seems nearly impossible at first, but the brain figures out just about anything with time. Overall the Dji FPV is a Multi-Purpose drone, you may find a drone that does one of its functions better but none that can do all of its functions as good.

      I completely agree, the feeling of flying an FPV at maximum speed, is nothing short of amazing. However, it really is a question of what is your goal - my DJI FPV has literally been sitting on a shelf for over a year, because of how inconvenient it is to use. You cannot travel with it - the FPV needs a separate suitcase with the goggles and all the chargers, the Mini I just throw into my backpack without thinking, and it takes no space. No need for chargers, no need for anything. The Mini - you just pick it up, and in 5 minutes you're flying it and taking pictures and videos (even similar to FPV, of course without dives or flying through narrow spaces, but most people don't need that). The FPV requires months of learning. At the end of the day, there's a reason why most people don't buy a sports car to take their kids to school - while cool and exciting, it's just not practical. The FPV is the same.

      @@hml thanks for that, no not my forst drone, but would be first dji, fpv looks tempting at its new low price, but i must admit the mini 3 pro does look the best all round option, next question is with or without the colour lcd screen?

      @hml  Рік тому

      @@aeroflopper I know that in the video I said not to get the RC remote, but I ended up using it most of the time, and it's almost the same weight as the N1 (without LCD). So if you don't care about the cost, and don't care about it being a bit bigger in your bag - get it. Otherwise, the N1 is perfectly fine. You're not gaining much by using the RC.

    why can't we use the DJI fpv goggles with the mini 3 or mav? i really wish DJI would make a micro goggle like the fat sharks that could work with the mini series. that way i could get the small form factor with the safety features. their fpv drone just doesn't appeal to me even though it technically does most of what i want.

    • @hml
      @hml  Рік тому +1

      Well, I have a feeling that DJI Avata is kind of going to be that - small goggles + mini cinewhoop drone. But generally, the Mini/Mavic's intended use is very different than a FPV. One is a camera with props, the other is a flying race car.
