    You make it look so simple. But I'm all fingers and thumbs and always get in a mess. LOL
    Happy new year everyone.

      More than one way to do it trust me. No need to stich a link on, a small bomb and run ring will do just as well. No need for a size 4 hook either, personally i don't go any larger than a 10 with cheese paste with no issues. We all have our own ways of doing it.

    The most simple tactics are often the most effective

    Can't do that on the Severn, ya need at least 2oz to hold bottom (at the moment a drone and 10oz!) That rig is perfect for small rivers/streams and slow/medium flow.

    How come you cast out with swan shot and catch the chub with a pear lead attached when it’s reeled in?

      The video is showing you the concept/how to tie the rig. Like Stephen Holland says different flows require different weights needed. Its kinda like saying that hinge stiff rig was cast out with a 2oz lead on, is that the only lead size I can use with that rig?!?! 👍🏼

      Hi Ryan, Phil was using a 1oz glass quiver tip with a Drennan isotope attached.

    What other fish could this work

      This simple rig will work for most river fish, with a smaller hook and small piece of bread its a great river roach rig.

      @@AnglingDirectTV thank you so much also what strength line should I use because I've got 6 lb and 4 lb for chub

    • @AnglingDirectTV
      @AnglingDirectTV  3 роки тому

      @@thediligentdungbeetle8116 6lb mainline and a 4lb hook link should cope with chub in less snaggy swims. But most good chub swims have snags, so a 6lb hook link would be better.

    Can you really trust that knot not to snap under pressure from a large chub ?

      Are there any chub in the stretch you are fishing? It's a tried and tested rig and has accountant for millions of chub so you can put your faith in it 100% Maybe the chub in your stretch of river are pressured during the day? Try fishing at night or just after dark or dawn. Feed some bread mash and keep casting further down the swim with each cast. If there are chub about perseverance will pay off in the end. All the best

      This is my go to rig usually when fishing for chub, fantastic rig so simple too. Make sure you are fishing the right swims, if there’s no chub there you’re not gonna catch them:)
