I do recordings on my Boss looper pedal, and it's a bit like using an old reel to reel in some ways. I use the SDrum for my drums, and, for me, they do what I want extremely well. If any of my recordings sound ok, it's mainly because of the SDrum!
I own this pedal. Drums sound very good. It works good and if you don't like the rythm it gives you, you can tweak it a lot. It saves 48? rythms i think so when you get it just right it's there for later. It has a tempo knob and a volume knob, so that alone makes it better than a real drummer! 😂
@@Mike-qy9zf I have one and can confirm it does do fills, despite your claim to the contrary; when you change from one part to another -- e.g., Verse to Chorus, Chorus Bridge, et al -- it does perform a little fill at the end of the phrase to let you know it's about to change.
I have a Linn Drum machine and it's the way to go.... it plays( in perfect time) any beat or tempo until it's blue in the face and doesn't even get blue in the face !
I have the SDRUM and the beat buddy. The User Interface is not very intuitive. It sounds good, but compared to the beat buddy, there are a tons of features missing, when using it live. We used the beat buddy to play entire gigs. Not possible with this one, but nice for practising.

aye aye ayee...I was a drummer for 15 years and switched to bass about 4 years back. Man did I back the wrong horse...and then switch to the right horse
Clever little pedal. I have the Beat Buddy but like how easy it is to roll your own with this one. Also gotta agree, Frank's got the best bass face. I like that Yamaha he's using. What model is it?
This looks like an awesomely awesome device to have. This is great for the solo gig guy. That's for sure. I love the T-shirt! Bass Face. That's exactly what I was thinking when I looked at him! That's fucking great! That is very funny. Oh yeah Frank Itt. Now that's what we call a Real Studio Bass-ist. Yeah baby! RemyRAD
I have had one for a few years (along with the 3 way footswitch) and yes it is fun and the drums sound good. I also gigged it for a while. You do need a lot of reading and patience to get the most out of it but the main problem is support because Digitech got bought by Samsung (as part of the Harman group) and development stopped. I have heard that another company has bought Digitech from Samsung so maybe things will pick up.
Good news :) Biggest problem, for me with the Sdrum was no way to backup your settings. It has a USB port but no backup to PC facility. With a gigs worth of songs programmed and it being so easy to zap something (or the Sdrum getting lost or stolen) it was a big risk.
@@Pinkeye82517 It did have a midi interface but it wasn't advertised. If you internet search you can find out about it. 'Harman Canada Engineers who developed the SDRUM also clandestinely included the ability to sync MIDI devices to the SDRUM via the JamSync connector. We have been casually testing this over the past few weeks and it has been working consistently, so we are willing to share with the public. @@Pinkeye82517 Has an output which is compatible with midi. I have used with Aeros & Boss Loopers. Will start & stop loops & keep sync. Increasing BPM will increase looper BPM in sync. You can pause SDRUM, & looper keeps playing.
Think about it, If this pedal existed back in the 1960s, when Larry Graham’s Drummer Originally got Fired, (for Larry to come up with inventive ways to keep the ‘backbeat’ on a bass guitar) we wouldn’t have “slap bass” today. (as we know it)
My buddy is a drummer. I play bass. We want tracks to jam with. I have not found many here on YT that sound good. 70 Year old guitar players are scarce around here. They have a short shelf life, I think.
Très gros point noir de cette pédale : l'absence de mémoires pour sauvegarder ses réglages. Je l'ai revendue quand une autre personne l'a utilisé et du coup m'a fait perdre tous mes réglages.
Where do you pour the alcohol in at? There is no way that thing will hold 24 quarts of beer. I also didn't see a speaker or anything to put a mic up to when it insists on being the lead vocalist, either.
can i just have the bass player? i promise to feed him and buy schnapps (not the cheap piss)..and i wont try to make him play generic pop algorythms....or make him wear sequins....?
I find it funny how i look all day on UA-cam for demos of strings and basses and all the bass players suck so bad they do the product a disservice...here the bass player is super good demontsrating a drum product😂😂😂😂
Lovely to see Frank cracking up with a big ol’ smile. A treasure.
Dude's bass-face is awesome!
I've had one for a few years, but what impressed me most is your bass playing! Jam on!
Great you see Big Frank still funking it!

So I guess it's no good to practice with it to black metal shit? or anything other than basic rhythm
This thing can't play fills. How lame is your music? 😅
You must Not know a Real Drummer.
@@mikecunningham6154 old joke- how do you make a drummer play slower and quieter? give him sheet music.

The bass face is strong in this one
Take that pedal on stage when you are playing in front of an audience with no real drummer.
I don't think that's it purpose
Not bad..You need a BassFace pedal to go with it! 🤘😜
Pedal shmedal, bought 3 shirts. The Bassface got me.

Bass tone and lines in the intro so tasty!
Wow, this bass sounds fucking great.
Cool pedal too.
I would love to be able to cut the bass kick a bit once the volume gets higher
At least this thing will not drink the alcohol I buy for cleaning strings.

Perfect funk stank face during the bass intro. Props. Must have taken years to get that face right 😀
I love Frank's playing
Great video! What about a review of Beat Buddy pedal?
A whole new meaning to "stomp box." 🙂
WE USED IT ON ONE OF OUR LATEST SONGS......THEY ARE GREAT FUN
I need this pedal. And a dour faced bass player. Greetings from New Mexico!
"What's the difference between the SDRUM .. And a real Drummer"?
"You only have to 'Punch the information' into SDRUM Once"!! ...... 😆
Can it do odd time signatures,e.g., 11/8?
This shirt is the thing I never new I wanted.
I wanted this 20 years ago. Now I have plenty of actual drummers
I hope you weren't attempting to sound cool because that would be pretty embarrassing😂

Does it do blast beats?
Frank Itt. Wow!
Does this pedal have any control over velocity/ dynamics for different parts of a song ?
Mr. Funk Face; himself kicking it out! Like the pedal.😌🎶🎸👍🏾

Very neat ...tad expensive for me though
der dicke kann ja echt geil bass spielen, hammer
Why do bass players always look like they're trying to have a bowel movement when they play? ;)
Anyone know which model of the Yamaha bass is this?
What about TRio + ???

Interesting. I gather you could use this with a 6 string electric?
yes.
Astonishing 😮
The bass player is now my favorite bass player on Earth.
I am a guitar player! A open noted fretted note master! I would just need it for rock/heavy beats only!! No disco here~
what is that yamaha bass?
I have the BeatBuddy Mini2 but damn, I like this!
Toll 👍
Bass Face King🍻
I don't care about the pedal; I just tuned in to listen to Frank groovin'.
;-)
can you do a video showing more want sdrum can do like for heavy rockers like my self
Cool ❤
Next year: Your new pedal is a drummer
where to buy such a fantastic t-shirt?
Here: bit.ly/3I5fe0O
As a drummer I think we should have a gadget to replace the guitar player. Ha!
My buddy is a drummer. I play bass. We want tracks to jam with. I have not found many here on YT that sound good. 70 Year old guitar players are scarce around here. They have a short shelf life, I think.
Being a drum player you should learn to play guitar and play along with a looper pedal.
You don't need to spend money on this if you have an iPhone (even the 5s will do) and a killer app like Lumbeat's Funk Drummer. Endless possibilities👍
This pedal allows you to perform live and recall entire song structures by using the Footswitch. That‘s where apps can’t compete
well he can frown
Chubby is a Pleasure to Hear/Watch!!
We need one of those pedals for bass player replacements.
You’re awesome
Ouwaa! Ich möchte lieber meinen Schlagzeuger Job behalten!! ;)

I wonder how far we are from AI drummer. 'Hey AI I want drumming like Blue Monday but start out slow....now speed up'
Not far for sure. It’s the logical next step. And not just drummers
Wow, that thing is pretty cool!
lol, just seen the price… not so cool. I can buy a real drummer for that price and just keep them in the basement.

And they will bring pizza
and the beer !😂
what bass is that

Hi guys. Thanks for your content. This one scary. Hmmmm.

It needs midi, how could they not think about adding it?

What happened the the other basstheworld guy?
I really can't tell you what "PEDAL" means in french !
400 bucks? HAHAHAHAHA
why i can hear the terminator while watching this video?

Your bass player is scary
Hope they replace bass with cold sterile noise

Well, i got rid of the bass player on my band just using an octave pedal...how about that...
Do you feel threatened by a little metal box? Wanna talk? 😉
299 EUR? it was 99 EUR 3 years ago! Anyway, it is a fun little machine / drummer 😀
Aus Deiner Aussprache höre ich, dass Du Deutsch bist. Warum muss der Bassist so böse gucken?

There needs to be "random speed up, slow down and drool" controls to more closely mimic a real drummer.
