Lower total cholesterol is now known to be not such a good thing. I've been keto since 2018, and am happy that my total is in the high 300s - it's very brain-protective. Those ranges are very outdated; it is now known that high cholesterol does NOT cause heart disease. You're good!
Also.....the size of the LDL particles is important to note. The smaller particles can be more "problematic".....and also important to note is that our body MAKES cholesterol because our cells are surrounded by a lipid membrane and thats CHOLESTEROL!! Triglyceride level is MOST important because thats the lipids that are floating around in your blood stream! And, of course, whats MOST important is how you FEEL and your resolved inflamation which was causing all of those symptoms & that is caused by CARBS, espcially simple sugars & statches (which breaks down into sugar) Congratulations!! YOU "PASSED"!!😆
Thank you for sharing your ttl cholesterol. Mine was 349 3 mos ago. It seems outrageous BUT IT IS NOT!!! I’m healthier than I’ve been in years, 3 yrs into a proper human diet and maintaining my weight without even a second thought.
Praise God for your testimony! I have been doing this for 7 weeks and my prayer to receive help from the Lord for my glucose and a1c levels, blood pressure and weight. My pastor's wife directed me to this and I believe the Lord is leading me to continue.
Oh Paula, yay for you!!! Well done. Today I completed my 506th consecutive fast + keto. I've lost 59 pounds and feel great! My Neurologist put me on a ketogenic diet in 2010 after I experienced a massive brain hemorrhage and was paralyzed on the right side of my body and couldn't speak. Thankfully, those effects were very short-lived. Today, thanks to keto and fasting, I show NO evidence of the brain bleed whatsoever! Here's to miracles! By the way, what we eat isn't what causes higher cholesterol. It is what the body makes. When we fast, it can cause our cholesterol levels to read higher. I read an article that said we shouldn't fast for 3 days prior to having bloodwork done.
I saw Ken Berry’s video with a well known cardiologist who said if your Dr has you on meds when your cholesterol seems high (200ish) find a new Dr. Now I want to go off meds bc I don’t like them. He said your A1C is more important. Sounds like you’ve got a good Dr
I’ve been keto for 5 years. Last year when my cholesterol started getting high, I put out of my head what all the tv doctors are saying about high cholesterol being good and stopped eating so much fat and red meat. I eat mainly chicken and fish with some greens and berries and my cholesterol has gone down. My triglycerides are great and my good cholesterol is also good. My total cholesterol and bad cholesterol have come down. After 5 years I remain keto but high protein, lower fat and low carb. I just don’t like the cholesterol being so high after 5 years on this diet. I was almost 300 lbs and have maintained at 138 lbs for 3-1/2 years.
@@kelblueskies3937 that’s what hubby and I thought for the 5 years we were on strict keto. Then hubby had a heart attack and had to get his arteries cleaned out. We still eat mainly keto but not so much fat or red meat. Keto did keep his blood sugar in check and lost lots of weight.
Thank you for going out of your comfort zone and sharing all of this information with us. We appreciate you and what you are doing here on this channel. You’re so relatable and truly an inspiration. You really are helping so many people. Keep up the good work. 👍🏼😊
Thank you for sharing your results. I had mine checkup and blood results last month and everything was great. I love watching your channel. They have helped me and others.... I have taken off over 120 pounds in 137 weeks living the Ketogenic Lifestyle.
Paula, I started watching your channel right before Xmas on 12/26 I started eating low carb. My start weight was 261 and this morning I’m 239. 22 lbs down! I just want to say thank you and I’m looking forward to my next doctor visit with bloodwork. Thank you for sharing your results!
I have a friend in TN who I met from her and her husbands YT channel a few months ago. I began sharing with her the keto lifestyle shortly after we met..especially when she began commenting on her arthritis. Fast forward a month ago, she is now on a keto journey -:) Last update two weeks ago she stated she was feeling so much better and her arthritis in hands was gone,
Oh, my goodness! I am in shock over how much alike we are! I, too, suffered with debilitating migraines up until keto. I had some doozies that had me in the ER because the pain was so bad, I was throwing up so much, and my blood pressure was through the roof! I am in perimenopause and have a lot of symptoms. We tried HRT but I had horrible reactions. I am so glad I found your channel!
I am an overachiever too! I am an elementary school teacher and when my students take state tests, I want mine to be the best! I work my bottom off with my students in order to get them to their best. Also, my highest weight was 285 over 6 years ago. I lost down to 168 prior to the virus. Over the years of lockdown, I put some pounds back on with a lot of cheat days and eating way too many keto treats, like Quest peanut butter cups. I ballooned up to 239. I got back to clean keto am an now back to 196 and still working toward the 160´s.
Thank you Paula. Low carb changed my life over seven years ago with my symptoms being exactly like yours and I will not ever go back to the SAD. I'm now 56 and post menopausal and also chose no HRT bc I didn't feel needed it. I've only had maybe 3 migraines since this WOE and no more joint pain! Like you I want to shout to the mountain tops and tell everyone they can take control of their health!!
Yes! God did hear your prayers. We have the same experience in finding KETO for my daughter’s autoimmune extremely painful disease that numerous doctors told us there was no cure. She is down 80 lbs and her disease is close to being in remission. The doctors said that was not possible. She literally has a new lease on life.
I have been anxiously waiting on your results. You should feel proud. You've done an excellent job and the reality is your symptoms have disappeared which is HUGE. Thanks also for your transparency. I really enjoy your channel.
I started Keto 3 days ago. Amazing thing is I truly don’t get hungry & the intermittent fasting is easy. I’m surprised how simple it is. So far so good.
Thank you soooo much for making this video! I just went through the same exact thing!!! I’ve always had low cholesterol but last year after doing Keto my total cholesterol was up and I panicked and stopped eating eggs. This year, it’s still up but my triglycerides are normal and so is my A1c so I’m just going to continue keto because I do not want diabetes and I feel great. I’m an over achiever too lol and I want all my tests perfect!!! Haha
I've always found you relatable, and now I know why. Your description of your personality is so similar to me both with the high standards and being hard on yourself. I'm 5'8 too. My weight is similar to yours now. I have type 2 diabetes though. I'm also not as disciplined as you are with getting under 20 carbs. I target under 50, but hover usually around 35 daily. But, I'm hopeful that my numbers will be good when I get my blood work back this week too. Appreciate your transparency and enjoy your channel! Congrats!
Congratulations on those great numbers! I have read a lot about cholesterol and you are doing wonderful. So happy this way of eating has helped you so much. Thanks for sharing.
Yay you. You are much more strict than I am but I’ve had such success! I, too, feel so much better. I’ve lost over 30 pounds. Last time I went to the doctor she told me if my blood pressure continues to improve, she will be able to reduce my bp medicine. You help keep me on track and I thank you for that!! So glad you are doing great.
Thanks for sharing! I have eaten keto 2x for 18 to 2 years. I have settled into it now for forever. I am currently at 18 months, low carb keto for the second time. We’re about the same height and I am 57 and I weigh 155 pounds. I don’t eat a lot of fat because I want to burn the fat on my body. I appreciate your transparency.
Sounds like a great report on your physical. I know Dr Berg has a video where he talks about his wife having high cholesterol. I think, he said there’s another test they can do. Can’t remember exactly, I’ve watched so many. Thank the Lord for your good report!
The NMR shows the quality of the cholesterol particles…whether they are small dense atherogenic or large fluffy and buoyant. A CAC test is a good one to show if there is any calcium build up in your arteries. Also, triglyceride/HDL ratio is important to look at.
I had HORRIBLE migraines my whole adult life. They quickly went away with menopause and never returned. Estrogen dropped with menopause, resulting in NO MORE MIGRAINES. The same identical thing with my sister who had worse migraines than I did. They stopped but returned when she started taking hormone therapy for menopause symptoms. Her migraines returned immediately. So she stopped the hormones. Migraines left never to return. Estrogen seem to be our enemy.
Paula, from the research I've done dietary cholesterol has minimal impact on serum cholesterol. Your body will make the cholesterol it needs for proper function. The fact that you have more cholesterol now is good! You are feeding your body the fats it needs to be healthy. Take heart, and keep eating all that nourishing animal-based food! Also, higher cholesterol is protective as we age. Dr. David Diamond has some excellent presentations on this cholesterol topic and also has a compelling case as to why we should not use statins. You're doing everything right and your A1C is perfect! Great job! And I appreciate the vulnerability. I also want to point out all that sodium you take in your electrolytes everyday and look...your blood pressure is perfect, too! People always freak out when they see I'm ingesting 1000 mg of sodium in one glass...they don't know it's insulin resistance that causes high blood pressure in the majority (not all) cases. Keep on keeping on! *high fives*
So HAPPY to see this! You look relieved and happy❤. I didn't think of my blood test # as something personal 😮SEE my triglycerides dropped in 1/2 like you!. I am a new person at 70 yrs young and healthy like I dreamed of being🎉. ✔️😂
Paula! Congrats on your numbers! 🎉 To God be the glory for you and me - He guided me to keto for my non-alcoholic fatty liver a few years ago and when I had my last check up it’s healed! 🙌🏻 Now I’m working to get my A1c down too.
I got my blood work done in January after 9 1/2 months on the carnivore diet. My triglycerides are 90 my HDL is 62.5 and my VLDL is 18. My doctor said no areas of concern even though my LDL was a little high and total cholesterol. My kidney markers were perfect. My liver markers were perfect. My A1c was 5.7.
I go in today for a blood draw to compare it to my Oct’22 draw, I started low carb in October :-) My A1C back then was 5.2 too! I’m 57, just wonderfully went through menopause and I feel great!!! Thank you for your journey sharing❤
Thank you so much for sharing this very personal information. I understand how vulnerable it must feel and I really appreciate you putting yourself out there for all of us. ❤
FIrst video I've watched here, the tag line got my attention - though I find the title a bit misleading..... I lived a Ketogenic lifestyle for 3+ years. I didn't really lose weight and my LDL cholesterol tripled. Unlike some commenting here, this concerned me a lot. I was not seeing the results I had hoped and developed NASH over that time. I now do IF 18:6, eating in the morning - I've dropped 25+ pounds and my LDL has come down. My NASH issues have reversed too. I still eat more or less low carb (little or no gluten, no sugar, no dairy) I feel better now. All this to say we all need to find that which works for our bodies. I'm happy you have thrived eating ketogenic - I did not.
Congratulations on your good health report! Thank you for being so real and honest. You are such an inspiration and I absolutely love your videos. Thank you!!!
God is good all the time🙏🏿. I am so glad that everything went well for you. Paula, you worked so hard for your health journey and I absolutely appreciate you sharing with us. God bless and I look forward for more videos from you 💕
Thank you for being transparent in your lab results. I started a semi Keto diet and intermittent fasting in the first week of December 2022. I am a retired nurse and it is very hard for me to believe that eating fat is good for you. It's been drilled into the medical community for so many years that fat is the worst thing you can eat. Anyway, I watched several of the doctors you mentioned and the information they gave and the studies they mentioned, it all seems to make sense. I have a strong family history of heart attacks and stroke. And because I am obese, my doctor recommended a statin for me, as a preventative measure, even though my cholesterol has been good for many years. So, it's only 5mg twice weekly. I've been taking that for about 5 years and it hasn't bothered me. And at my last annual physical, last August, my doctor recommended a diabetic medication because my HgbA1c was 5.8. It has been either 5.7 or 5.8 for years. My doctor would like it lower. My fasting glucose was 107. (The highest it's ever been is 108). I told her that I would have to think about it. That's when I started to research other alternative diets to see what I could do to lower my glucose and get this weight off for good. So since I started to go semi Keto in December, I've lost 20 lbs. I am seeing my doctor back in a few weeks and will tell her what I am doing with my diet. I will also ask for the specific cholesterol blood work (ApoA1, ApoB) that are components of the LDL, that I can get to find out my risk for heart attack and stroke. Apparently I cannot use the risk factor for CVE (Cardiovascular Events) because I am 66 years old. I tried to use the calculator myself online and it said that it cannot assess risk for people over 59. And I am back to exercising (walking) and that is helping. So, if my numbers (glucose, cholesterol and ApoB) are high, then I'll stop the diet and go back to low fat. (And have some occasional fat). But I will still keep my carbs low. I bought a glucometer and my blood sugars are lower, so my HgbA1c should also be lower. We will see what happens. But I don't blame you for sticking with it, with the great results you've had with getting rid of your migraines and joint pains. Keep it up!
Hi Paula, sorry I've taken so long to get back with you. I had my follow up with my PCP (primary care physician) in April and all of my labs were great: my Hgb A1c 5.2, down from 5.7. (6.5% or higher is diabetes). My total cholesterol was 172 (under 200 normal), Triglycerides 83 ( under 150 desirable), LDL 86 (that level can be different for each person depending on their risk factors. Over 130 is definitely abnormal. HDL 71 (over 60 is desirable). And my genetic test for cardiac events, AP01&B showed that I have an average risk of having a significant cardiac risk for the next 10 years. And there is the CRP which is an inflammatory marker, and that was normal. So all good. I told my doctor what I was doing with my food and said that I was going to stick to it. She was ok with that. She wants to see me back in 6 months. At this time, I am down 35 lbs. I am eating 2 meals every day within 8 hours and no snacking after 6 pm. I feel that I've found a "lifestyle" not diet, that I can stick to for the rest of my life, finally! Thank you for listening to my rambling, and congrats to you for doing so well. You help me also, giving me inspiration. Keep up the good work! 👍🤛@@lowcarbrevelation
Congratulations on your weight loss.I also prayed asked God for help. I had a lot of health issues. Most are gone or better because of keto and 65 lb weight loss. I never heard of keto before and it popped up on my phone after I prayed. 5 yrs keto Now I'm ketovore and I love it.
Laboratory results can vary from machine to machine so on another instrument your 1 point out of range could actually be in range if you retested the sample or used a different instrument. I work in a lab and they can vary up or down a few points. They actually sound really good! I would love to have those results. Especially the A1c. I can’t seem to get mine below 5.9 no matter what I do. I am hoping in time , this Keto lifestyle will drop it down. Thank you for sharing and congratulations on your successes!
Thank you for sharing this personal information with us! As a woman in my mid fifties, I was also glad to hear that this way of eating has made an improvement with hot flashes. I am just beginning keto and hoping to get some relief.
You are such a sweet soul. Thank you for your frankness & sharing what has worked for you. It so inspires us that are in the same boat & wanting to improve our health/lives!🥰
Just found you and loved this post. The difference between me and you on striving for better results 10:03 when the mark isn’t perfect is you try harder, I give up and slack off, which includes dieting which is why I’ve been overweight since my late teens. As high as 450 at one point but usually in the 300s. I am now 73 and since I started carnivore less than a month ago, with my husband (bless his heart) and as of this morning was 296!!! First time in over 40 years I’m in the twos! Not EVER giving up this change of lifestyle! Not EVER! And channels like yours are the wind beneath my chubby little wings!
You were so informative and truly transparent. To me you are such an honest person who any friend would love to have. Keep up the good work because I intend to follow you during your keto journey. I’m much older than you but I too love eating this way. God bless you!
I knew you were Canadian when I saw the Timmy's cup (me too, Alberta Canada)! I'm a new viewer and this video made me decide to subscribe because I'm in the same age range as you, just diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, and trying to figure out how to get my health in order. I really appreciated you sharing your experience with keto here, I know it was a hard video for you to make but it really helped me.
I know what it is to have those flashbacks….I have them for severe psoriasis and I am on medication but also carnivore, my skin is no longer itchy, bleeding, or hurting. I thank God for this.
Good for you. So proud of your determination and hard work. Thank you for sharing and for being so honest with us. I love that your videos are short and to the point. 👍
Thanks for this Paula! I have a similar personality and so I reacted in a similar way when my Cholesterol was “high”. I also feel too good to quit this way of eating. I am adding more exercise and fish but otherwise continuing on with Keto
Starting my keto journey today. I also felt led by the Lord. I had zero keto videos and low and behold a keto Dr. Was on my feed. We share some of the same symptoms I’m 52. Wanna nip this perimenopase in the bud. Glad I found you
Well done love, you are a fab role model. I have been keto for a year and a half. Then ketovore then carnivore for 2 months. I am worried about doing my yearly blood test. I am going to book it for next week. I bet my cholesterol will be off the chart. I wonder what my doctor will say. I feel better with this life style. Osteoarthritis pain is easing in my hands. Congratulations to you from Debra in Mallorca Spain.❤
Congrats on doing what is right for you and for sharing your journey - keep it up, the rewards only get better with time! I'm super impressed about how you told your doctor what you're doing to improve your life. And that she listened! I've heard that it's more important to look at the TG/HDL ratio. Look back at your previous labs to compare that ratio, are you closer to 2.0 now? Ideally, under 2.0 puts you at a very low risk for heart attacks. Your 5.2 A1c is great, you're not diabetic!!! YIPPEE!!
Not to mention the levels used to be higher for normal cholesterol back in the 50's if I remember right it was 240 for normal. But you can search it , I was blown away
Just found your channel. I’ve lost almost 45 lbs and I’m working on losing the final 15. I’ve done keto off and on for years. Right now I’m concentrating on low carb/keto but, more importantly, no sugar or very little sugar. I read labels on everything! I’m 70 and trying to live a healthier lifestyle. I have no thyroid so I do take that but nothing else. My BP is 115/65 usually. Blood sugar and liver enzymes are all normal with my cholesterol hovering in the 170’s.
Thanks for sharing! I'm on a low carb diet because my sugar levels are high... prediabetic. I hope I can get that number to come down and I've also lost some weight which is an added bonus.
I am so glad I discovered your channel, Paula, I love your videos! You and I have a very similar story and are on a very similar journey- we are close in age and height and I have lost 40+ pounds. I was just thinking about sharing my story on my YT channel-will mention yours for sure! Thanks for sharing!
Paula, I am so very proud of you for ALL you do and for sharing your most private information! I’ve decided why I’m so connected to you-we are so much alike; however, I could be your mom but I’ve been on my health journey forever and started keto for brain health since my mom died of Alzheimer’s and I have a leaky gut! You are SO good at everything you do and I believe it’s because you follow God’s lead and your mission is helping others which you obviously are! Congrats on your labs! I learned a long time ago that Drs don’t keep up with current studies like cholesterol and “food is medicine” so I only go to those functional Drs and nurses now! I love your cookbook and am using it all the time!! I am a personal chef, cookbook author, past restaurant owner so I know and love food!! Keep doing what you’re doing! You are so loved!!
Wow! Thank you so much for these beautiful kind words! I believe more and more that I am doing what God wants me to do with this ❤️ and I certainly feel the love
I love how simple you make this lifestyle. You are so down to earth and are very interesting. Thank you for sharing your personal information with us and being honest. I understand your frustration with lab results. I have issues with my BP. Keep on keeping on. You're awesome.
You have a good doctor. Mine is good, but she wants to put me on a statin. I have taken them in past and got where I could barely walk due to joint pain. I am a nurse and figured out what was going on. Thank you for your video.
Thank you for sharing your personal info, I'm sure that was hard! You are truly an inspiration and I love how you ask God for help. Btw, I like your eye shadow color. Looks good on you.
You are absolutely adorable. I love watching you and your channel. Thank you that you're sharing even the most intimate things that you normally wouldn't. Keep going at it
My cardiologist said it was ok to be on the keto diet, but don’t eat too much red meat and cheese. I had to go to urgent care recently and they said my ketones were too high. I was told not good for my heart and I was to raise my carbs up to 200 TC. We are all different and need to check with our doctors as with other diets before starting.
Hi Paula. Thank you very much for sharing. I 100% agree with you. The quality of life you have now being on Keto is amazing. And being over 1 point is nothing. Congratulations on doing so well on the Keto lifestyle!💞
I reallly appreciate your transparency. I have an appt next week and can't wait to see my numbers, hopefully improved. I am a number and science type pperson and am motivated by that. Im also like you and hard on myself but figire any improvment is better than i was before.
Thank you! Cried happy tears today. A1c down from 12.7 to 5.5 in 3 months! Trys from 400s to 169. Cholestrol from 252 to 192. Vitamin d less than 6 up to 25. I was very sick on paper.
paula way to go- with those numbers- great ranges and I Love how simple and delicious your recipes are for us.......I am low carb- not keto at all but I have made improvements in my fasting blood sugar numbers- thanks to soe of your delicious recipes-
New subscriber here, thanks for sharing! Congratulations on losing weight and getting healthy and praise God for such a wonderful answer to prayer! 🙌🏼☺️
Hi Paula. I want to thank you for the video about measuring and counting carbs. Turned out my husband and I were quite of track, eating to much greens and dairy carbs. On track again thanks to your 'wake-up' call. ❤
Thank you for this video! I have been on keto for over a year and needed a bit of inspiration this morning to keep going today, and you were there! Thank you for sharing and for turning around your health scenario.
Use master tonic, 1 gallon of acv, 1 white onion, 1 head garlic, ginger, turmeric, 4 jalapenos. Cut everything up and put in a big bowl leave for 30 to 60 minutes,, strain and you have master tonic. It takes care of cholesterol
Thank you for being honest and forthcoming. You are clearly doing well. I went keto for all of 2019 with great results, but then went off track with the pandemic. I’m finding it difficult to get back to keto, but you are an inspiration.
Congrats on 17 months 🎉 I just did a one year update video! It feels so good to be this far in, a year ago I never thought this would work out but now it’s just “normal” to eat this way 😊
Thanks for sharing Paula. I watch your videos everyday and enjoy them. I definitely think this is your ministry and all of your viewers are blessed because of your sharing. So happy you are feeling wonderful. By the way, are you a "first born?" We firstborn children can often be perfectionists, over achievers and seek validation from our parents for our achievements. Fits me to a tee!! Just a little FYI! Thanks for all you do and your dedication. God Bless❤
I think it's important to remember that our medical guidelines from studies done on men exclusively and/or sponsored by big pharma...I trust my own body and I'm glad to see other like yourself doing so also.
I’m giving you three thumbs up! Great job on the video. You are perfect!👍👍👍 I am also enjoying your first cookbook. Everything I have made has been delicious. Tonight we are having your taco casserole. I have to add that your blue cheese salad dressing. It is so so good. It makes the meal with a simple piece of salmon or meat. Yum!
I had to chuckle at your 1 point! That is totally ME! 😊 But, I know you work hard to stay clean on your Keto Lifestyle so understand that moment of disappointment. BUT, listen to your Dr. when she says there is NO normal range because we are ALL made up differently and genetics do play a part in cholesterol. Also, you are struggling a bit with that viral seasonal cold/allergy and that can also mess up bloodwork. You are a sweet, caring and compassionate person and it shows with how much you open yourself up to us. That means a lot to us. Keep being YOU and doing what you do! God Bless you!!
Paula, thank you for sharing. I would say your blood work was great. Everyone’s different and it’s definitely genetic. Like you, I would continue this way of eating because of the benefits! Plus, I love eating this way. ❤
And, of course, whats MOST important is how you FEEL and your resolved inflamation which was causing all of those symptoms & that is caused by CARBS, espcially simple sugars & statches (which breaks down into sugar)
Congratulations!! YOU "PASSED"!!😆
I feel the same way, Karen.
I thought about that when I said maybe it was too low. I feel so much better no them when I had lower cholesterol
Thank you for sharing your ttl cholesterol. Mine was 349 3 mos ago. It seems outrageous BUT IT IS NOT!!! I’m healthier than I’ve been in years, 3 yrs into a proper human diet and maintaining my weight without even a second thought.
Agree!!!!
Praise God for your testimony! I have been doing this for 7 weeks and my prayer to receive help from the Lord for my glucose and a1c levels, blood pressure and weight. My pastor's wife directed me to this and I believe the Lord is leading me to continue.
Thank you! God is good!
I'm praying for you and your pastor's wife. I hope you do amazing on this. God bless you all.
By the way, what we eat isn't what causes higher cholesterol. It is what the body makes. When we fast, it can cause our cholesterol levels to read higher. I read an article that said we shouldn't fast for 3 days prior to having bloodwork done.
Wow that is amazing! Thanks for sharing
That is amazing!
Don't worry about cholesterol, people who live the longest have high cholesterol.

I’m so thankful for healing foods ❤️🥰
I agree, “just” the migraines alone being gone makes this way of eating worth it!
Thanks for sharing, it’s amazing
Fantastic!!! Thank you for being vulnerable and transparent! This is helping so many people! ❤
You are so welcome!
Give Ed a hug when he gets home. Good job on your numbers!!! You look beautiful.
Thank you!! I did ❤️
You are amazing! Thank you for sharing your self with us on your journey. Congratulations 🎊
Thank you so much!!
Yes! God did hear your prayers. We have the same experience in finding KETO for my daughter’s autoimmune extremely painful disease that numerous doctors told us there was no cure. She is down 80 lbs and her disease is close to being in remission. The doctors said that was not possible. She literally has a new lease on life.
That is so amazing! Thanks for sharing
I have been anxiously waiting on your results. You should feel proud. You've done an excellent job and the reality is your symptoms have disappeared which is HUGE.
Thanks also for your transparency. I really enjoy your channel.
Thank you so much! 💓
I started Keto 3 days ago. Amazing thing is I truly don’t get hungry & the intermittent fasting is easy. I’m surprised how simple it is. So far so good.
It’s amazing how it works ☺️
Thank you soooo much for making this video! I just went through the same exact thing!!! I’ve always had low cholesterol but last year after doing Keto my total cholesterol was up and I panicked and stopped eating eggs. This year, it’s still up but my triglycerides are normal and so is my A1c so I’m just going to continue keto because I do not want diabetes and I feel great. I’m an over achiever too lol and I want all my tests perfect!!! Haha
You’re welcome ☺️
I've always found you relatable, and now I know why. Your description of your personality is so similar to me both with the high standards and being hard on yourself. I'm 5'8 too. My weight is similar to yours now. I have type 2 diabetes though. I'm also not as disciplined as you are with getting under 20 carbs. I target under 50, but hover usually around 35 daily. But, I'm hopeful that my numbers will be good when I get my blood work back this week too. Appreciate your transparency and enjoy your channel! Congrats!
Thank you so much 💓
Congratulations on those great numbers! I have read a lot about cholesterol and you are doing wonderful. So happy this way of eating has helped you so much. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you!
Thank you so much! Way to go 🎉
You are doing a FABULOUS job!keep it up God's got you!❤
Amen!
Congratulations on taking charge of your health, it shows, you look beautiful and radiant!
Thank you!
Thank you so much
Sounds like a great report on your physical.
Thank you!
@@Baribrooks Thanks for the info!
I started keto 2 months ago and I’m pretty sure I will not be going back to eating carbs the way I use to. So happy to have found your channel!
Thank you
Paula, from the research I've done dietary cholesterol has minimal impact on serum cholesterol.
Thank you so much! I also thought about the sodium and the blood pressure but forgot to mention it .
So HAPPY to see this! You look relieved and happy❤. I didn't think of my blood test # as something personal 😮SEE my triglycerides dropped in 1/2 like you!. I am a new person at 70 yrs young and healthy like I dreamed of being🎉. ✔️😂
Thank you!! 💓
Paula! Congrats on your numbers! 🎉 To God be the glory for you and me - He guided me to keto for my non-alcoholic fatty liver a few years ago and when I had my last check up it’s healed! 🙌🏻 Now I’m working to get my A1c down too.
That’s awesome! Praying for your A1C! 🙏
That is so wonderful!!
Great results Paula! BTW, my family doctor says the same thing that your dr said: he looks at the whole picture!
Thank you!
I go in today for a blood draw to compare it to my Oct’22 draw, I started low carb in October :-)
My A1C back then was 5.2 too!
I’m 57, just wonderfully went through menopause and I feel great!!!
Thank you for your journey sharing❤
That’s great!!
Thank you so much for sharing this very personal information. I understand how vulnerable it must feel and I really appreciate you putting yourself out there for all of us. ❤
Thank you so much
FIrst video I've watched here, the tag line got my attention - though I find the title a bit misleading.....
Everything in the title is truth. Just sharing my testimony on my channel..Glad you found something that works for you, not everyone is the same
Congratulations on your good health report! Thank you for being so real and honest. You are such an inspiration and I absolutely love your videos. Thank you!!!
My blood work went from 116 to the 300s in 8months. I found out last week but i went from 211 to 132! Feel great
God is good all the time🙏🏿. I am so glad that everything went well for you. Paula, you worked so hard for your health journey and I absolutely appreciate you sharing with us. God bless and I look forward for more videos from you 💕
Thank you ❤️
Thank you for being transparent in your lab results. Keep it up!
Thank you for sharing! I would love to hear about your outcome.
Yay, Paula.
Thank you for sharing…
I’m really trying to do keto but my hubby can’t eat salt…makes it hard!
You can do it! The more you work at it the easier it gets!
That is so awesome! I just filmed a segment of video just now about thinking about going Ketovore for July! I’m so glad this way of eating helped you
Laboratory results can vary from machine to machine so on another instrument your 1 point out of range could actually be in range if you retested the sample or used a different instrument.
Thank you for that info!!
Thank you for sharing this personal information with us! As a woman in my mid fifties, I was also glad to hear that this way of eating has made an improvement with hot flashes. I am just beginning keto and hoping to get some relief.
I think you will be amazed at all the health improvements you will experience
Yes so true!
You can do it! You won’t be disappointed ❤️
You are such a sweet soul. Thank you for your frankness & sharing what has worked for you. It so inspires us that are in the same boat & wanting to improve our health/lives!🥰
Thank you so much!
That is awesome!!
Fly high, lil chick! Blessings from Canada 🇨🇦
@@kathyjames9250 wow, thanks! I’m Canadian too, live in Oregon, but still a Canadian. ☺️
I knew you would be getting a good report. I believe in this way of eating!
Thank you!!
You were so informative and truly transparent. To me you are such an honest person who any friend would love to have. Keep up the good work because I intend to follow you during your keto journey. I’m much older than you but I too love eating this way. God bless you!
Thank you so much!! That means a lot
I’m from Michigan. We have Timmy’s here too! Welcome! 😊
Your CVD risk isn’t just cholesterol, it’s calculated by age, blood pressure, and A1C. Good job
Thank you!
Thanks so much Paula for sharing this information. You continue to be such an inspiration to me.
Thank you so much!
I know what it is to have those flashbacks….I have them for severe psoriasis and I am on medication but also carnivore, my skin is no longer itchy, bleeding, or hurting. I thank God for this.
That is so great! 🙌
Good for you. So proud of your determination and hard work. Thank you for sharing and for being so honest with us. I love that your videos are short and to the point. 👍
Thank you so much!
Thanks for this Paula! I have a similar personality and so I reacted in a similar way when my Cholesterol was “high”. I also feel too good to quit this way of eating. I am adding more exercise and fish but otherwise continuing on with Keto
Thanks for sharing!! 💓
Congratulations! That doctor is a keeper! I wish Mine was like that.
Yes I really like her
Starting my keto journey today. I also felt led by the Lord. I had zero keto videos and low and behold a keto Dr. Was on my feed. We share some of the same symptoms I’m 52. Wanna nip this perimenopase in the bud.
Glad I found you
It’s amazing how well it works
Congratulations Paula! You and your husband look so much healthier and happier every video.
Thank you so much!
This was such a helpful video! Thank you for sharing your numbers. You have a good doctor. Most are obsessed with statins and hand it out like candy.
Glad it was helpful! Thank you!
YIPPEE!!
Thank you!
Not to mention the levels used to be higher for normal cholesterol back in the 50's if I remember right it was 240 for normal. But you can search it , I was blown away
Wow I didn’t know that
Triglycerides should be less than 100. Triglycerides to HDL ratio should be less than 1 to be optimal.
That is great!
My TC doubled when I went keto. I have stayed the course because, like you, my symptoms have improved.
Thanks for sharing! I'm on a low carb diet because my sugar levels are high... prediabetic. I hope I can get that number to come down and I've also lost some weight which is an added bonus.
You’re welcome! You can do it!
Thank you Paula for the update , good for you ! Your doing good, keep up the good work , you look great !😊
Thank you so much!
You are exactly describing my experience. Same same!
Congratulations! So proud of you!
Thank you!! 🤗
I love how simple you make this lifestyle. You are so down to earth and are very interesting. Thank you for sharing your personal information with us and being honest. I understand your frustration with lab results. I have issues with my BP. Keep on keeping on. You're awesome.
Thank you so much! ❤️
Thank you for sharing your personal info! It makes me feel better to have someone start with the numbers I have! I am sure I can do this too!
You have a good doctor. Mine is good, but she wants to put me on a statin. I have taken them in past and got where I could barely walk due to joint pain. I am a nurse and figured out what was going on. Thank you for your video.
Thank you for the update. I can't wait to get mine in June.
Thank you Paula for sharing your journey. 💕
You are so welcome
Thank you for sharing your personal info, I'm sure that was hard! You are truly an inspiration and I love how you ask God for help. Btw, I like your eye shadow color. Looks good on you.
Thank you so much!
O m g !!! 20 total carbs?? Thats crazy! Im glad it works for you
I jump between keto and low carb every few weeks
Thank you
You are absolutely adorable. I love watching you and your channel. Thank you that you're sharing even the most intimate things that you normally wouldn't. Keep going at it
Thank you so much!
Yes I agree
Great numbers! My results were similar with even higher LDL! You are doing amazing 💕
Thank you!!
Hi Paula. Thank you very much for sharing. I 100% agree with you. The quality of life you have now being on Keto is amazing. And being over 1 point is nothing. Congratulations on doing so well on the Keto lifestyle!💞
Thank you for all of your encouraging comments 💓
I reallly appreciate your transparency. I have an appt next week and can't wait to see my numbers, hopefully improved. I am a number and science type pperson and am motivated by that. Im also like you and hard on myself but figire any improvment is better than i was before.
You got this!
Thank you! Cried happy tears today. A1c down from 12.7 to 5.5 in 3 months! Trys from 400s to 169. Cholestrol from 252 to 192. Vitamin d less than 6 up to 25. I was very sick on paper.
That is AMAZING!! Great job!!! I’m so happy for you
Wonderful results, Paula!! Praise God!
Amen! Thank you!!
paula way to go- with those numbers- great ranges and I Love how simple and delicious your recipes are for us.......I am low carb- not keto at all but I have made improvements in my fasting blood sugar numbers- thanks to soe of your delicious recipes-

New subscriber here, thanks for sharing! Congratulations on losing weight and getting healthy and praise God for such a wonderful answer to prayer! 🙌🏼☺️
You’re welcome and amen!
Hi Paula. I want to thank you for the video about measuring and counting carbs. Turned out my husband and I were quite of track, eating to much greens and dairy carbs. On track again thanks to your 'wake-up' call. ❤
You are so welcome! It helped me too! Thanks for sharing
Thank you for this video! I have been on keto for over a year and needed a bit of inspiration this morning to keep going today, and you were there! Thank you for sharing and for turning around your health scenario.
You’re welcome
Use master tonic, 1 gallon of acv, 1 white onion, 1 head garlic, ginger, turmeric, 4 jalapenos. Cut everything up and put in a big bowl leave for 30 to 60 minutes,, strain and you have master tonic. It takes care of cholesterol
Love your t-shirt. Congrats on the health numbers.
Thank you for being honest and forthcoming. You are clearly doing well. I went keto for all of 2019 with great results, but then went off track with the pandemic. I’m finding it difficult to get back to keto, but you are an inspiration.
You’re welcome! You can do it again!
Congrats on 17 months 🎉 I just did a one year update video! It feels so good to be this far in, a year ago I never thought this would work out but now it’s just “normal” to eat this way 😊
That’s great! I just subscribed
@@lowcarbrevelation awe! Thank you ❤️❤️
Thanks for sharing Paula. God Bless❤
Thank you so much! I am the middle of 5
I think it's important to remember that our medical guidelines from studies done on men exclusively and/or sponsored by big pharma...I trust my own body and I'm glad to see other like yourself doing so also.
I’m giving you three thumbs up! Great job on the video. You are perfect!👍👍👍
I am also enjoying your first cookbook. Everything I have made has been delicious. Tonight we are having your taco casserole. I have to add that your blue cheese salad dressing. It is so so good. It makes the meal with a simple piece of salmon or meat. Yum!
Thanks so much! 😊 ❤️
I had to chuckle at your 1 point! That is totally ME! 😊
But, I know you work hard to stay clean on your Keto Lifestyle so understand that moment of disappointment.
Thank you ❤️
Paula, thank you for sharing. I would say your blood work was great. Everyone’s different and it’s definitely genetic. Like you, I would continue this way of eating because of the benefits! Plus, I love eating this way. ❤
