Got an FX on a recommendation from my guy, I’m not really a fan of packed mufflers but I am now, kept it at a moderate noise level, and gave it a nice deep rumble
@@dustincady2811 hmm no there’s a difference…. This truck is a 6.2l v8 that’s brand new and running perfect, the “hillbilly truck” you’re talking about is running on 3 cylinders with a cracked block and running open headers.
I have a 21 Silverado with the same Flow FX set up. If I had to do it over again, I’d definitely leave the flapper valve in. It sounds terrible when the truck switches to 4 cylinder mode.
It’s called “helicopter mode”. Delete the AFM at a shop. Isn’t too expensive. You’ll lose 2-3 MPG but it won’t go into 4 cylinder mode anymore. I just live with mine. Most the time I hit 4cyl it’s at 1,200 rpm anyways. Just turn the music up cause most other cars can’t even hear it either lol
$200 just to cut off 2 resonators? Are you serious? Geez you don't use but 2 feet of pipe combined to replace both sides. Love your videos as always but geez your high. I've had a full length exhaust 2.5in done for less with top notch work and welds. As your work is as well but that's high dude.
@@CactusJack252 exactly why it shouldn't cost an arm and a leg for exhaust that is not that expensive. I deal in exhaust enough to know what I'm talking about.
Exhaust guy elsewhere recommended Flow FX on my 22" Sierra HD. 3 inch inlet and dual 2.5 outlet. It was a little much for my taste. Went to Flowmaster 70 series and it's perfect for my liking. FX had noticeable drone 1500 to 1800 RPM's , nothing on the 70 series. I suspect if my truck had resonators, it would be a different outcome, but since it doesn't i had to go with more muffler. Wish I'd saw this video first, even though my truck is an HD gas, engine is not much bigger than the 6.2! Nice video.

Better drone than the 40 series?
gotta hear the 40 series with the no resonator but the flow fx sounded amazing nice deep rumble I wanna hear the new Chevys with a y pipe no muffler
all these stock cats, gotta go!
Anybody noticed how shitty these welds look or just my welder eyes ?
Both resonators need to go
I agree with the bleach
agreed
So it can sound like a hillbilly truck?

Nothing beats the flowmaster flow FX

Get a v4 delete chip. $200

These guys are the best!!!! I just wish they were closer to Philly 😢😢
great videos man! was able to pick the exhaust for my new gmc truck just watching your videos!
What did you go with?
Come to Jackson tn. They will charge you 40-50 bucks a piece to cut the screens off
200 for res deletes ? It's like 50-60 per side out here in Cali. There's probably a lot more exhaust shops out here too though
I know what a RIP off
In North Mississippi had muffler removed and flowmaster installed for $40. Took about 10 minutes.
Will the flowFx setup work for a 21 as well? Same part number?
All the new GM v8s don’t sound as throaty as I wish. They all kind of sound stuffy and full of unused air

And probably 800-1000 for Doing a custom dual exhaust.
@@Viages right. Crazy how much some shops will charge.
He is right outside of Memphis Tennessee. It is not a cheap place to live at

From Dallas tx and here they charge 50 to cut off a muffle and slap a pipe on to replace it
I just bought the black bezels/tips from GM. I got a couple chrome ones for sale if anyone wants them
I had mine powder coated black
Please invest in better mics. I could hardly even hear the exhaust over the excessive wind noise.
And the vehicles driving by
The exhausts sounded decent. Even the 40 Series with the resonators sounded good to me...but I'm not a fan of chambered mufflers.

First thing I’d do is have those pesky resonators gone!!
$100 a side to cut resonators lol.wow
I know my local place would charge 40 or $50. Actually I could do that myself.
Way too much to cut 2 resonators out .
Doesn’t sound too bad but A little louder would be great.

Both are terrible.
