Just got this exhaust today and will be installing tomorrow on my 2023 AT4. Your video actually helped me in my decision making process. Thank you.
After reviewing many different videos I kept coming back to this one. Just installed this on my 2023 AT4X….wow…awesome..not much else to say…I will say on cold start it’s on the Obnoxious side…but 30 seconds later and it settles down into a nice rumble. Exhaust was purchased thru American Trucks and local exhaust guy installed in less than two hours for 250$. At interstate speeds you can hear a faint rumble but it’s very comfortable and not overpowering. If your questioning which one to get…this is it!
ALMOST went with this until I heard it in person. Went with the Borla Atak instead. Loud on a cold start, tappers out nicely, no drone, and let you know it's there when you get on it.
Why didn’t u go with this kit? What’s wrong with the sound?
@jason woodyard don't get me wrong, it sounds great. But it's a little TOO loud. For me, it's too much when I can hear it diving normally on the road. The ATAK is pretty loud on a cold start, but mellows out. You can hear it from a dead stop until you get up to speed, then it tapers out to a mild tone, but will definitely growl when you step on it. The AWE is almost constant. To me, it's the "everyone look at me with the loud truck" sound. That's the best way I can put it.
@@kuyaali956 that helps a lot. Lol. I have the borla s type on my old 5.3, but I’ve been debating on the awe for a few months. Thank you for your honesty.
@@jasonwoodyard5189 since you have the s-type, the Atak is about 2-3 times louders from cold start and normal driving. The one here is about 5-6 times louderish due to it being a true dual exhaust. I didn't see the need for a daily driver. I feel you would be just fine with the Atak.

ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL! My dream truck is a Denali Ultimate 6.2L and if I ever get one I'll definitely get this exhaust.
I'm going with Corsa for my ZR2. Paired with a Corsa air intake. It should be available soon. I had the Corsa cat back on my 2020 AT4 6.2 and liked it better than Borla.

Sound wise, I love it.
Look wise, I would've opted for black tips because you have no chrome on the truck.
I have the same exhaust on my 6.2 Trail Boss, absolutely love it…manually shift it, sounds so much better👍 and you should have got the black tips, my opinion…

Who in the hell was the engineer that thought that putting a valve in a muffler then adding 2 resonators would be a good idea. F the EPA! i removed that stupid muffler and it sounds much better with the resonators. Not too loud but not quiet either. At some point the exhaust will be replaced.
Had that same exhaust installed 2 weeks ago shortly after install check engine light came on

I have not. Had it on over a year now without issue. I’d check and make sure there are no exhaust leaks at any of the seams

Exhaust nut here, and i gotta say this drone canceling magic is REAL from AWE. I run it on my 2020 base Silverado, FWIW (and another car I have that I can't mention here lol). I agree - AWE is the best one out there, just haven't been in this market as long so some people stick with the grandpa brands but to each his own - whatever makes ya happy!

Never ever heard a better exhaust. Ever! I worry though it might be a bit loud for my culdesac. What would it be like starting in the garage then opening the door?
I think it would actually be worse in the garage due to the echo effect. It would certainly be loud early in the morning but not to where it's really bad. And now that I've put 4k on it, I know my neighbors still sleeping are just fine. It throttles down pretty quick
Last question… considering an AT4X over an AT4. Is it really worth the extra$? One more. If I go AT4… I like the idea of diesel mileage but would certainly miss the exhaust.
Perhaps a Borland Sport would be better for my neighborhood. Love your channel l
@scottlevin1695 the extra 9-10k msrp it really depends on your wants/needs. I prefer the different/nicer interior, the massage seats are nice but not nice enough, if your going to use it having legit full front and rear lockers, the shocks are definitely a worthy upgrade but can also buy great ones aftermarket. For me it's worth it. The diesel apparently is amazing on mileage and the 6.2 is horrible but fun lol I traded a ram ecodiesel, loved the truck/engine but with the cost of diesel up so much more than gas and much much higher maintenance costs it's not cost effective anymore unless your all highway all the time and do all your own maintenance.
The borla sport is still quite loud on start up, check @Donslife on here. He has that on an at4. Thank you good sir!
Love mine in my 22 elevation .quad black chrome tips..no cutting required...was hard to get it out...but I used a lift and did get it with me and my father twisting and pulling every way possible ..ordered the rubber bushing removing pliers ahead of time for ease of removal...another plus is the free blow pop in the box as a treat for a job well done haha

The diamond black tips are part of the "covid supply chain issues" apparently. Can get them would just be waiting for those themselves. I'm just going to paint them myself once we get another warm day

You need to get a creeper.
Borla has a million mile warranty, uses T-304 stainless, uses cnc mandrel bent tubing, also has an exhaust just for the ZR2/AT4X, Guarantees fitment, has zero drone because it uses Polyphonic Harmonizer Technology which as we all know is far superior to 180 technology, and I can tell YOU from experience the ATAK from Borla is NOT obnoxious all the time, the neighbors will not want to kill you. It's nasty when you want it to be but calm if you're just cruising through the neighborhood. All of this at a lower price point .... and the winningest exhaust of all time on the track. AWE has a done a decent job of copying what Borla has been doing for ever but do you really want to buy a knock off for a higher price. No thanks
What did the 6.2 checking out the muffler delete with a flapper valve the resonators only cost me $200 and got the same sound no drone at all on the same truck with the 6.2 Chevy Silverado

No not at all, it is still the same automotive paint where exhausts are close to it. At 3k miles with it now and no issues.
Drone is more dependent on RPM than anything else. Your not going to get much drone at 1200 RPMS
