Happy Birthday to an extremely underrated James Bond actor!
When you watch OHMSS and stop to realize this was this mans very first time EVER acting -
It really is extremely impressive!
For a young first time actor taking over from a legendary Hollywood figure playing an iconic character like James Bond -
It was an almost impossible task -
and he ended up doing a terrific job!
(And to be doing it in an all time classic film is not too shabby either)
I bet if he had the chance to do another few films he’d have grown into a truly great 007!

I hate all the speculation of who the next Bond will be. We haven't even finished with our current one and already everyone wants to move on. However, after many multiple viewings of OHMSS, I will say I believe that following Lazenby's version of Bond could be the way to go. Craig was the ultimate Gen X Bond, dark, moody and dangerous (he and Connery were my faves). People have been wanting to "lighten" things up a bit the next time around and following the manor and tone of Lazenby's Bond I think will appeal to the younger crowd and give a palatable if not preferred redirection. I think George has shown us the way. I would even go so far as to make it a proper sequel to OHSS by making a book faithful version on YOLT and call it Shatterhand!

Lovely video! An amazing Bond for an amazing movie. Such a pity he didn't do 2 or 3 more. Diamonds with Lazenby, Peter Hunt and a proper follow up to Majesty's would have been great!

I remember seeing OHMSS in the cinema in 1969 - very strange seeing a different actor in the role after Connery but for a non-actor George didn't do too bad a job. Still wonder what Diamonds are Forever would have been like with him as a continuation story.
