  • My views on set up, handling and overall build quality of this low cost, lightweight, travel and vlogging gimbal from FeiyuTech.
    It can take micro 4/3rds cameras such as Sony A6300, A6400 and A6500. As well as the small Canon, Olympus and Nikon cameras. It also takes the GoPro and even a smartphone.

    Thanks for this - I've just got one of these. My early difficulty is not being able to flip the monitor up and down on the camera to swop quickly between POV and selfie mode. It changes the balance and sets the gimbal a-shrieking it would seem!

    Will this take a Canon 550D ? And is the tripod include or an extra, as I don't see it listed on the sales Im looking at on Amazon. Oh and finally, you have had this for 10 months is it still working well, no glitches.

    • @GavinParsons
      @GavinParsons  4 роки тому +1

      Hi There, I am not familar with the Canon 550D, so I couldn't really say. It works well with my Sony A6300, but anything larger and you would have to go up to the next size I think. I still like it, as it shows you which mode you are in and it's lightweight. It doesn't come with the tripod, I bought mine as an extra, but use that on its own too so it's very useful.

      @@GavinParsons Hi Gavin, thank you for taking the time to reply. After asking the question, I did spend a few hours looking at stats for the G6 and I'm sure I prefer it over the Zhiyun Crane V2 that I was gonna buy. Your video helped a lot and it was the only review video which I watched in full. I liked the quality of the video filming, production and editing, along with the presentation and info from yourself. Now if anyone from Feiyu Tech is reading my comment, then send Gavin a feiyuTech AK2000s Advanced Kit, as thats what Im not looking at. Thanks again Gavin. Oh and I subscribed, so keep up the good content.

    I have Sony a6000 and Sony 50mm f1.8 oss and sigma 30mm f1.4 dc dn lenses... Do you still recommend this gimbal... I have really limited budget... Or better i push my limits for g6 max? what do you think, are there much of a different between these two gimbals? Thank you in advance...

    • @GavinParsons
      @GavinParsons  4 роки тому +1

      Hey Dost, thanks for reaching out. The G6 plus will have no problems with the a6000 and the 50mm, but the 30mm (which I am unfamiliar with sorry) looks slightly longer, so you might have some trouble with camera positioning. You might be OK, but without actually testing it I couldn't say for sure. You might be better stretching to a slightly bigger gimbal.

    • @ayhancapan
      @ayhancapan 4 роки тому

      @@GavinParsons Thank you so much for your respond Sir. I have watched that slightly longer Sigma 16mm f1.4 dc dn is even ok with this gimbal. Sigma 30mm f1.4 dc dn lens's weight is 265 gram. I think i will go for G6 plus, but not now. Just today i've ordered a fluid head video tripod. May be it will help me for a while. My tripod was so weak.

      I am not familiar with the Huawei Mate 20 Sujan, but if its a standard phone size which I would imagine it is then yes. The phone holder adjusts to fit different phone sizes.

    Great review Gavin, very very detailed. Hey one question, when travelling I use my a6500 for video and photos. How do you get on wanting to take photos ? Can you take them while on the gimbal, or if its better taking camera off, how much of a pain is it to just quickly release the camera, take stills and then put back on gimbal with a minimum amount of fuss ? What would your comments be on this topic ? Loved the video, you've nearly got me sold on one. Cheers from New Zealand.

    • @GavinParsons
      @GavinParsons  4 роки тому

      Hey Mark, thanks for the comment. So when it comes to taking pictures, I too will be travelling soon with my 6300 and will be using it with the gimbal. I will use the gimbal as a tripod and fire the shutter with my phone app or I will simply hand hold it. The gimbal is light enough to handhold and yet heavy enough to provide some stability.
      Taking the camera off the gimbal is easy enough. If you are using the same lens make a mark on the quick release plate and gimbal and match them up.

    • @markelliott7641

      @@GavinParsons thanks gavin. awesome. One more thing, changing the camera battery. How easy is it with this gimbal. can you do when the camera is still on it ? or do you need to take off base plate. cheers

    • @GavinParsons
      @GavinParsons  4 роки тому

      @@markelliott7641 Because the camera sits on a shelf on the gimbal you cannot access the battery compartment while the camera is on the gimbal. The quick release plate though doesn't impede on the battery cover. So you have to slip the camera off the gimbal, change battery and slide it back on. Another reason to mark the release plate and the gimbal.

    You think it'll work with the Fujifilm XT-100? It's fairly light with the kit lens 🤔. I found a great as deal for this gimbal. For only around 155 bucks! 8,500 pesos in the Philippines. Such a great deal

    • @GavinParsons
      @GavinParsons  4 роки тому

      I am not familiar with the XT-100 in terms of weight and dimensions, but it looks like it should be OK. Double check the overall weight of your set up and remember to include any filters etc that you may be using.

    I have a Canon T5i with a 250MM lens. Will this gimbal handle this payload? I also use the 18-55mm and a 10-18mm wide angle lens. Thanks very much.

    • @GavinParsons
      @GavinParsons  4 роки тому +1

      I'm not familiar with that model, but I doubt it will hold the 250mm lens as it may be too long. You'd be better off looking at the AK2000 or AK4000.

      Hi Paul, OK I tried it with my D800 and it didn't actually fit. The tripod mount on the camera is a fraction too far off to mount it. I don't know whether the D5600 is smaller. If the distance between the edge of the handgrip on the camera is more than 850mm then it will not fit. Weight-wise I think you'll be OK with a light lens on.
