Largerfeld worked with Chloe in the beginning and is most well known for being Chanel’s designer forever. Worked with Fendi too. Had his own label as well. HUGE designer. A legend.
Thank you for the valuable information! Love your presentation and content. Both are great because you aren't pretentious and you keep it honest. Your personality and voice are easy to stay with and helps with learning.. so don't stress over pronunciations, okay? You are one of the best teachers on UA-cam. I'm in the process of binge watching all your videos and they are all a big thumbs up! Thank you also for sharing so generously what you find out about what sells, it is so helpful to this great grandmother who has a steep learning curve, and not much time. All the best to you and yours!
Thank you so much Courtney--lots of wonderful vintage Names in the Jewelry world right here! And sooo many that are unsigned--keep learning--that's all we can do 😉❤🔥👩🌾
Miriam Haskell are not always marked. Gail once found a stunning MH necklace she sold for $750!!! Paid $4 at an estate sale! It wasn't marked, she found it in a book to identify it!
No apologies necessary re: the pronunciations Courtney. You did great!!! Getting ready to list a pair of Crown Trifari earrings that were appraised at $285.00. I paid, maybe, .25 cents for them. Also found a Jomaz Brooch for $2.00 and sold that for $165.00. Costume jewelry is nothing too sneeze at. Love it when I see folks down playing it. 🤫🤫🤫 Blessings, K.T.
Love your videos Courtney. Learning more and more everyday. Thanks for referring me to what not and Donna :) I have purchased 6 or 7 pieces but need to do some research before selling. I picked them because I loved them myself.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Vintage Costume Jewelry!!! Grrreat video, Courtney! Haven't sold much jewelry yet, but never thought about holding it in your hand, VERY Good Idea!!! THANKS!!!
I knew they could be big money and I've been collecting them since last summer, but I haven't had time to do any research about them, so I appreciate this video!!
"would you pass on damaged unsigned earrings?" Well my vintage collection says no 😅. But then again my most expensive pair is only worth ~$25 because most are unsigned and not in the popular styles and I don't resale them. It was nice to learn more about them!
I have seen fake Chanel and YSL pieces. If you aren't familiar with the real thing, they are pretty convincing. For that reason, I'd be careful about paying more than a modest amount for designer costume jewelry if you haven't seen and handled a great deal of it. I've sold a few pieces on ebay to Chinese buyers (which is where most fakes come from). My understanding is that producers of fakes make molds of real pieces and then stamp out repros by the hundreds or thousands. Depending on what the maker expects to wholesale them for, the quality of work will vary. Poor repros are easy to spot (sloppy finishing, glued stones, "fuzzy" marks), but higher end repros are much harder to identify. Designer costume jewelry is definitely a "buyer beware" area because it is almost impossible to authenticate pieces at a price a seller can afford to pay.
Joseph Mazer is also just marked MAZER on some older pieces. I came across a large brooch in a bag of scrap jewellery, I picked up for $4.50 at the op shop, it sold at auction for $180. A few stones had been replaced slightly different colour, all disclosed in description and pics. Could have sold for around 600 if in good condition
Hello Courtney, love your channel and personality, l also have a hard time pronouncing some words, and l have to work at like you to get it right, you are doing great job in educating us in a variety of different areas and l thank you very much.May God bless and keep you in all your ways.😊❤
I just sold a Ciner necklace for $200... had it priced for $250, but got an offer 2 hours after listing it on eBay and grabbed it. I did pay up for the necklace ($50 after shipping), but I knew they would be worth some $$, thanks to these shows! ALSO the big hint on the Hermes earrings was the "H" clips 🤣
Question for those that know vintage jewelry... if it's unsigned how do you know what brand it is for reselling? Just starting to dabble in jewelry. :-)
My current issue: I’ve been watching so many bolo videos that I’ll swear I’ve seen that maker mark or a signature on something, but I can’t remember if it’s in my own inventory or a previous video. Lol
Your hair looks good today. ❤ Also watch Rusty the reseller. He has some good hints also. Trafari was sold in the 90's so the newer stuff is not as good and it also doesn't have a crown over the T.
10:16 unsigned wow, how do you know it’s that designer? I love the combination of the stone and cut purple amethyst! Yet those are beautiful how do “we” know it’s that one/value?
Not sure if you will receive this comment but its just an FYI. I have read that ALL Trifari Jewelry is signed. They used it in their ad campaigns something to the effect of "If its not signed Trifari then its NOT a Trifari". I have a brooch that came on a Trifari Card in a Tifari box but the brooch was not signed so I could not claim it as Trifari. Just an FYI
Prongs. And you are correct, NEVER show a photo in any auction unless that item is IN THIS AUCTION. You are opening yourself up to problems and potentially bad feedback.
My mom recently passed. While I adore her collection of retro/vintage clip-ons, I know I just cannot keep them all, so many will go up for sale. A lot of these look like the stuff my mom had! So thank you for this. I'll have to purchase I loupe I think! (BTW, you seriously _don't_ know who Karl Lagerfeld is??? LOL ) 🤨 Also on those earrings that went for $995, there MAY be a mark on the side of the clip if you look closely at the enlargement at 17:25.
I've been dealing in costume jewelry, vintage and antique, for 35 yrs. I promise the Jomaz were not worth that money. No where near. Also please be careful with pieces that have signatures on the findings, especially Haskell's. Those don't quite look like her style, most of her rhinestone pieces were actually unsigned. People do switch out the findings. Be careful, know your designers.

Karl Lagerfeld was a fashion designer and photographer from germany, he was one of the big names like Versace, Armani etcetera.
Largerfeld worked with Chloe in the beginning and is most well known for being Chanel’s designer forever. Worked with Fendi too. Had his own label as well. HUGE designer. A legend.
CD @ Balmain too, plus his eponymous label later in his career. A legend indeed!

You are so sweet! Thank you so much for the kind words.
I used to sell vintage designer jewelry. Stopped right before the pandemic started. I need to get back into it soon.
Thank you so much Courtney--lots of wonderful vintage Names in the Jewelry world right here! And sooo many that are unsigned--keep learning--that's all we can do 😉❤🔥👩🌾
Courtney, I love your curly hair! And, that pink color looks great on you! 👍😉
Thank you so much
@@BOLOBuddies You're very welcome! 😊
I have a clip-on/screw on earring collection or over 400 pairs. I’m definitely not knowledgeable re brands etc., but buy what I like and can afford.
I love your videos, youre so relatable and cool + fun to listen to!!😊

Wow! I would not have thought that these would bring so much money!-Loretta😊
This is so awesome to learn! Thank you for all you do to help us all learn new things! It's much appreciated.
This really helped me today actually!! I have a pair of very vintage screw-back earrings and this helped me find the markings!! 🤪
Awesome 🤩
Georg Jensen is a Scandinavian designer. He is known for his beautiful Silver designs. I found some of his silverware years earlier. It sold fast!

thank you for posting this and looking these earrings up to and sharing it all with us! God bless you in all things. Sherry :)
You look beautiful 😻 blessed spring. I love vintage and the jewelry.
You tip about using ur hand to show off a piece is an excellent suggestion. It makes it more personal.
Also, showing a piece of jewelry in the palm of your hand will give a sense of size for your buyer. Thanks Courtney! Great video!
I still learn something new about jewelry every day! Yes, I often put my hand in the picture!!! thanks for sharing💕💕💕
Love your videos Courtney. Learning more and more everyday. Thanks for referring me to what not and Donna :) I have purchased 6 or 7 pieces but need to do some research before selling. I picked them because I loved them myself.

THANK YOU for the tip about opening the earrings up to see the signatures!
Love your lipstick shade!

Thanks for info on clip on earrings. Very informative.
Thank you for all you do😊
Just found your channel. Just started reselling and love jewelry. Love your content!!
Thanks so much for subscribing. I just did a video on brooches also.
You are awesome thank you so much for all your info and yes I have passed up items because of missing stones
Good job. I can tell you studied the words but it’s a lot more fun when you mangle them!! ❤❤
Best comment ever lol

I buy damaged and have sold damaged for good money.
gripoix = GRIP wah Poured glass (Glass "stone" fills setting and is rounded on top)
And named after the Augustine Gripoix who developed the technique in France in the 1800's.
Thanks Courtney! ❤

Beautiful jewelry
Thanks so much for your expertise! I learned a ton!
You are getting so good at pronouncing your words!
I love Karl Lagerfield. I have a sweater and a couple blouses of his!
Fantastic bolo's!

Great information, thank you!

Watching these types of videos have me hesitate to list my Jewlrey. Scared I’ll miss something. 🦉🦉
Seriously! lol
I am new to jewelry selling but need to learn more about selling and taking good photos.
Thank you!
Thank you from Canada

Where are vintage earrings being sold? I have over 20 seta I want to sell
No link here, or discount (?) re Photo Room 😥
I don’t think many of these branded clips were ever sold in Australia.
I like a picture of all my items with my hand.
wow I've never heard of some of these names like Karl Lagerfeld, I will be looking for these names
Yes I won't have passed the other one
I appreciate it
10:16 unsigned wow, how do you know it’s that designer? I love the combination of the stone and cut purple amethyst! Yet those are beautiful how do “we” know it’s that one/value?
Hello, I have a Trifari leaf necklace. Tried listing it a couple months ago but it just wouldn't list for me. Do I need an authentication ?
Why could you not list it?
@@BOLOBuddies Idk, every item specific was answered

Those gold earrings w missing stones look like 1940’s not Georgian?
Those looked like a money laundry item. (Product listed to send dirty money to another without drawing attention to the sale)
Baby teeth? Really!?! Learn something new every day.. sometimes multiples times a day! Thanks Courtney!
I think they just look like baby teeth. Some type of pearls. Noel would know lol
So, if one "grabs up" those $465 baby tooth earrings. When, how, do you expect to recoup your investment???
Hmmm ~ These seem extravagantly expensive.... What am I missing?
How can you not know Karl Lagerfeld???? Creative director for chanel and Fendi, I shop in primary and know that 😂
🫣
Prongs. And you are correct, NEVER show a photo in any auction unless that item is IN THIS AUCTION. You are opening yourself up to problems and potentially bad feedback.
Hermes makes the Birken Bag.

nope seriously did not know
I was shocked as well. CHANEL and him go together:)
Can anyone tell me how to price a piece?
I use clip-on
❤️💗❤️
Prongs. Prong set
I would hope no real jewelry person would walk past mine cut/rose cut diamonds 😵💫
I've been dealing in costume jewelry, vintage and antique, for 35 yrs. I promise the Jomaz were not worth that money. No where near.

Most of the sets like that would only have one piece of the set signed
😊🥰
Yes, there are many pieces She didn’t sign
I found some earrings in a jewelry I bought ,and they are clip on I took the dirty protector they put in the back of the earring and cleaned them they are CRISTIAN DIOR ,THEY SELL FOR 1000 dlls but I don’t know where to sell them is like x x I don’t use clip on earrings ,I want to sell them cheap if some one is intrusting
First, why don't you get a jeweler to appraise them? That will give you a starting point of what to charge.
Gripoix is pronounced Gre- pwa.
GRIPOIX is pronounced GRIP-WA
Definitely wouldn't pick these up

We want £££££££ not Dollars.
Ha, we don't even want dollars! 🇺🇸😭
I think this jewelry is ugly. Guess I have no taste!! 😭
I don't think this dear lady has a clue what she is talking about. Two words to memorise are claw and clasp. There you go, and I am a guy.
Great info ! Thanks 😊
Thank you
