    I'm following your video and I'm getting the fundamental of each note in tune great. But when I push harder on the bellows and the higher octave partials start sounding, they are very sharp (The whole instrumental was very sharp to begin with). I cannot figure out where those upper partials are sounding from or how to get them in tune.

    My harmonium in general sounds higher, about 444h or more, I’ll try to tune it for 440 to match it with the rest of the world :)

    Hi , how many Hertz can I add or cut off by scratching?

    • @TheHarmoniumEvolution
      @TheHarmoniumEvolution  Рік тому +1

      It really depends on the type of reeds you are using. If you have very thin reeds, you have to be carefull. If you have thick reeds you can scratch more. You can also scratch more on the base of the reeds and scratch less on the tip, because the tip is more fragile. I would say you could go from 440hz to 442hz without a problem (scratch at the tip to raise the pitch) ... or from 440 to 432hz should be possible to (scratch at the base to lower the pitch)

      Did you tune using the tunelab app? Because you cannot use an ordinary guitar tuner. You really need a special "piano" tuner.

    How easy or difficult is it to achieve 432 Hz tuning? Seeing how tuning is accomplished by scratching the metal reed, it becomes evident why companies won’t accept returns if you chose 432 Hz setup at time of purchase.

    First of all thank You for taking the time, so for example in 2 reed harmonium note A4 we tune one by one to 440 hz for example?

    • @Drinkingnectar

      Or we let both go at he same time and tune only one of them until we get 440?

    • @TheHarmoniumEvolution

      No, you tune one reed, never two together

    • @Drinkingnectar
      @Drinkingnectar Рік тому

      But two reeds A 4 need to be tune to 440 one after the other right ?

    • @TheHarmoniumEvolution
      @TheHarmoniumEvolution  Рік тому +2

      @@Drinkingnectar one key A4 may have two or three reads, one or two these reeds will be A4, the other reed will be A5, an octave higher usually, so that is 880hz. You select each air chamber separate to tune each set of reeds separate.
