Everything is so neat and pretty! Hibiscus love boggy areas too.
@@dernisepk6256 I was looking for a Hibiscus earlier in the summer and couldn’t find exactly what I was looking for at a decent price. I’ll look again next year.
I love how you angled the border of the flower bed. Everything looks so pretty.
Thank you so much!
Your yard is looking great. I’ve learn to let your mulch sit for at least 24 hours to dry before watering😊
Hi Jane! Thanks for watching. I really should do this because I have had a problem with fungus stop on my mulch this summer. Thanks for the advice!
Impressive accomplishment. 😊
Thank you so much!
Yes memphis!!!!! I have family there and im from chattanooga but now living in the midwest
I graduated from UTC so I know Chattanooga very well.
Looking good. I've learned over the years that no matter what you put down some grass and weeds will show through the next growing season. I usually get about 150 bags of mulch every year plus multiple layers of landscape fabric and i use Preen to top it off
I know exactly what you mean! Plus Bermuda grass is the hardest to get rid of. I've heard great things about Preen. Purchased some and never used it. I will definitely be topping off with Preen in the spring.
@AtHomewithMalaNicole Preen doesn't kill grass or weeds but it works good to keep it from growing for the season
@AtHomewithMalaNicole I'm am watching your videos on my TV right now, your garden space is getting better and better
@@fan1.028 so I need to get it down before the weeds start growing?
Beautiful, just beautiful. I'm in Bolton, Mississippi
Thank you so much!!! I don't know where Bolton, MS is but I am very close to North MS.
Awesome work👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽Your is yard is framed with BEAUTIFUL black mulch in your landscaping. Greeting from zone 6a Michigan
Hi Angie! My husband is from Michigan.
Love seeing the process! Keep these up!
Thanks! Keep watching to see what I come up with!
I found a frog in my garden too! I love to know there’s a tiny family there eating lots of insects.😁😆😂
They are all over my garden. I am getting use to it now.
Looking Good I'm Working on My Yard too I bought 30 bags of mulch I need 40 more I buy 15 BAGS every two weeks black mulch looks good I use to do red mulch but change to black mulch it looks better around green trees yellow shrubs
YES!! I started off with brown mulch but the black looks better to me too. I thought about getting a free load of wood chips from getchipdrop.com but I didn't want to shovel all that from front yard to backyard. So I purchase a lot of bagged mulch too.
Everything looks so beautiful!
Thank you so much!
I just subscribed to your channel. Your landscape looks beautiful. Mine is a hot mess. I’ve been filming mine for UA-cam as well using what I have. I use cardboard as well and I wet it down and then I put the mulch on top of it. At least that’s what I was told. I love your flowers and plants. I want to get to that point I bought a couple of boxwoods and killed them already from this heat. I’m here in California, but I think I’m gonna have to wait until the weather cools down to try to plant anything. I’m just trying to get my messy backyard together, one thing at a time I put a new fence in. I trimmed around it with red mulch and use the scallop stones that was already there, even though I don’t like them. Repurposing that’s what I’m doing. You have frogs in have lizards and I can’t stand it. 😂😂😂
I LOVE IT!!! you just have to start doing a little bit at a time. I had nothing to repurpose here so I was out of luck! I use cardboard and when
I first started last year, I would wet the cardboard then put a layer of compost then mulch. I honestly think that is the best if you are trying to improve your soil. But financially, it was too expensive to compost AND mulch my entire yard. So I just put compost in each hole when I am planting and I layer compost on top just around that plant. Eventually when the cardboard breaks down, that will improve the soil also. Good luck and I will watch your videos as well to follow your progress!
@@AtHomewithMalaNicole thank you I’m loving your yard. I want to get to the point where I don’t mind going out in my backyard at night, because right now I’m scared. 🤣Yours looks beautiful and nice enough to go out at night. 😊
@@pdubstuff You haven't seen the patio area yet. 🤣 That is another project for the fall because it is way too hot now.
Your garden is looking gorgeous! I love the stones on the edges and the color of plants you chose !
I have a neighbor that has two dogs that are barking at me the entire time behind my wooden fence! Even if I’m out there at 7:00 AM in the summer, they are barking their heads off!🤣
Thank you so much! I am have purchase a ton of Labor Day sale perennials to plant in the fall for more color.
Hi Mala, you have a beautiful backyard. Mississippi, here. What do you call the white pot near the back?? I am about to give my backyard a new look. Thank you. I love your fence. How did you create it with the string?
Hi and thank you so much!! If you are talking about the white planter in the bed that is tilted, I got it from Lowe's. They have several colors and I love it. Search this item and model # online. Item # 5705566, model # ZLW84G2453C.
YOU DID A BEAUTIFUL JOB 😅😊😅😊
Enjoying the progress of your backyard project. I see it’s a C lot of work but you seem to really enjoy it.
Watched Sunday after church. 3pm.
It is a lot of hard work but nothing worth having is easy. And the added bonus is that I enjoy every last minute.
Beautiful 😍
Thank you! 😊
It's just me too and I'm 65 and move a lot slower than you. It looks fantastic, I don't think anything looks as good as fresh mulch but boy I hate doing it lol
Hi Laurie! Thanks for watching and yes, fresh mulch is like night and day.
It’s beautiful 😊 I love to garden as well. Looking forward to following along. I’m in Hattiesburg, MS zone 8b.
I hear Hattiesburg is nice.
I’m new to Hattiesburg and it’s very nice! I’m creating a new garden this fall in my backyard. Love what you’ve done!
@@thepottedplanter1184 Hi and thank you so much! The fall is a perfect time to create a new garden. Good luck, I am sure it will be lovely.
What are you planting to climb the fence?
Honeysuckle Lonicera "Serotina' Late Dutch. It is supposed to be a variety that is non invasive.
Do paper bags work just as good as cardboard?
Hi! The paper bags work but I usually only use them right under the plants. I like cardboard better, especially since I am sheet mulching over Bermuda grass. It is extremely hard to get rid of Bermuda grass so a thick layer of cardboard would be best for a brand new flowerbed.
Just seeing this.?why use the paper box. Thanks.
Hi! Thanks for stopping by. The cardboard is used as a sheet mulching technique to kill the grass where I am creating a new garden bed. It is a no dig method.
How tall those willow trees grows? M
Hello, The tree should get 8-10 ft high and 4-6 ft wide.
