This is a Motormouth couple car review of the 2021 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid. The Pacifica Hybrid has a 3.6L V6 matched with a CVT and two electric motors producing 260 horsepower. It has 51 km (32 miles) of EV range and provides a total combined driving range of up to 835 km (520 miles). What’s new? The new Chrysler Pacifica has a redesigned front fascia and grille, new LED headlamps, larger fog lamps and LED taillamps that run along the entire width of the rear. The Pacifica Hybrid comes standard with 17” wheels, our top trim test model has 18” wheels; it’s the Pinnacle trim in Velvet Red Pearl. The Pacifica is longer than the new Kia Carnival by 1.4 inches and wider by 1.1 inches. The wheelbase length is the same as well as the height. The Pacifica Hybrid earns a combined city/highway rating of 2.9L/100km, 82 MPG. With the battery depleted it gets a combined city/highway rating of 8L/100km, 30 MPG. That fuel economy makes this plug-in one of the greenest vans in its class. The Pacifica Hybrid starts at $52,995 CAD/$40,295 USD. The Touring trim is $53,590 CAD/$42,595 USD, the Limited $55,995 CAD/$45,720 USD and the Pinnacle is $57,995 CAD/$51,225 USD. In Canada, rebates are available for full battery electric and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles with a base model MSRP under $45,000. Vehicles with 7+ seats qualify if the MSRP base price is under $55,000.

We own a Pacifica PHEV. We have done approximately 58k kms over 3 years with ZERO mechanical issues (excluding the few recalls, mostly software related). 80-90% of our driving is done in pure EV mode, mostly hauling the kids to places. This van is not for everyone but it fits our lifestyle perfectly.

I only started watching your reviews last week and I commented about doing on e for the Pacifica before I found this one. I'm on my third Pacifica, I traded y 2017 for a 2019 and then decided that the PHEV was a great idea so I have a 2021 Limited PHEV. Your review is very thorough and certainly agrees with my experience. I typically get at least twice my travel on the battery as opposed to gasoline. So with a 450 mile range on a full tank, I usually get more than 1000 miles between fill-ups, mainly because installed a level 2 charger in my garage and recharge after each use. A full charge of about 12Kwh takes about 2 hours.
At current rates for electric in my area I calculated a cost of slightly less than 4 cents / mile whereas the cost is closer to 20 cents with gas. There's no option to select gas over electric, it runs on battery until exhausted and switches automatically to gas, so smoothly that you don't even notice. As it accumulated regenerative charge from braking it will automatically switch back and forth between gas and electric.
I've been looking to possibly downsize but haven't found anything that compares with the features of the Pacifica. The Ford Escape has many but is missing the 360 degree surround camera among other things.
Regarding the tax credits, the Pacifica qualifies for the full $7500 US credit but don't forget that the non-refundable credit only applies to the extent of the tax owed.

I had to watch this video after renting one in Florida for two weeks. I was pleasantly surprised by the ride quality and how comfortable it was driving around the Disney for two weeks. I’m in the market for a minivan and my mind was stuck on either the Toyota or Honda. This thing rides so much better than either of those models and getting 30 electric miles definitely pushes me towards the Pacifica.

We bought a 2022 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid Limited S two weeks ago. The engine shut down/stalled while driving on the freeway and the van had a massive electrical malfunction. This happened dozens of times on surface streets as well. Chrysler took the car for a week, couldn’t “recreate” the stall and gave it back to us. The next day, back to stalling. Terrifying to have you car shut off while driving 65 miles per hour on the freeway with your children in it. Live Videos of electrical malfunction on my channel

Guys, guys! These vans aren't just for families with young kids. We spend a lot of time with my extended family, and if the van is moving, it has 3 to 7 adults in it and you can guarantee it's going to do some kind of shopping or road trip in search of a restaurant we haven't been to yet. These people need space and comfort, and we also need space for stuff. So, Andrea is right on this one. I have a Grand Caravan Crew Plus and while it's not particularly techie, it's comfortable, roomy, and yes, both 2nd and 3rd rows are stow-n-go. My previous van was a GC but it was an el-strippo version like you prefer Zack. I kept it 5 years and realized over that time what I really should have done. So I traded it in and got the Crew Plus. Every time I turn on the heated leather seats with the lumbar support or use the Tri-zone A/C, I know I made the right decision. And, when the women are in the mall shopping, Dad and I can watch DVD movies on the head unit and enjoy some Tims. These vans are people movers, not just kid movers. When trade-in time comes up, If there's an AWD Hybrid Pacifica, I'll get it, otherwise, I'll go to van Nirvanna and go for the Limited AWD gas version with stow-n-go for the 2nd and 3rd rows. Best of all possible worlds. I agree though that the caramel leather is a horrible colour, and the fake wood is tacky. I have fake wood too, but it's like burled walnut expressed as carbon fiber. A lot nicer that the fake aluminum they put in the GT models. Keep cranking out those videos.

I'm a long-time van and minivan owner who believes minivans are the best all-purpose vehicle extant. Nonetheless, I've considered buying a new half-ton pickup, particularly for its off-road/"adventure" potential. However, I have found that a Ram 1500 (similarly equipped to a Pacifica Limited AWD) is a minimum of $12K more. Some may argue that I'm comparing apples and oranges; and I'd willingly reply, "Agreed!" But my research has taught me that while a top-of-the-line Pacifica costs a chunk of change, it's VALUE quotient is off the charts compared to most other vehicles.

As the current owner of a 2017 Pacifica Limited, I cannot warn people enough to stay away from this absolute FCA junk product. Our Pacifica has been the second worst vehicle I have ever owned (the worst being another FCA product, a 2009 Ram 1500). We have had endless problems with our Pacifica ever since we bought it in Dec 2016. Been to numerous dealerships and some of the problems have still never been fixed. We have had the sliding door mechanisms on both sides replaced twice because they stop working. The transmission has been reflashed a couple times and it is still jerky (it's the much maligned ZF 9-speed). The thing rattles all over the place, especially the pano sunroof which sounds like you are taking a stick and smacking the glass every time you go over a bump. The electrical system has all kinds of weird gremlins that pop up. The UConnect infotainment is insanely laggy and buggy. The driver's door seal continually pops out of place (even after replacement) and makes a loud squeal when the door opens and closes. The thing is just a complete piece of junk. No it's not a lemon, this is just a typical FCA product. Stay away, no matter how enticing it looks when brand new on a dealer lot. Car and Driver had all kinds of reliability issues with their Pacifica Hybrid they had for a long-term 40,000 mile test.
FCA has a well-deserved reputation for building the worst vehicles in the business, and it is, unfortunately very true.

Federal tax credits are a minimum US$7,500. Plus discounting makes this the least expensive hybrid van to buy. The +80 mpge is double the Sienna Hybrid which is icing on the cake.
