Wish we could’ve seen Queen with Freddie’s live performance in person, but IMAX was truly the next best thing.. We saw it on Jan 21, it was so good, felt like they were really right there in front of us performing!!! I literally got emotional while watching the show 😢. It felt like Freddie was still alive!!! And, there was John dancing and playing the bass, he seemed so happy and comfortable!! Truly, when you think of Queen, there are only 4 names come to mind: Freddie, Roger, Brian and John; forever !!!! 🧡🧡🧡🧡

Our 9 year old Freddie Mercury fan got this "concert" for Christmas. He was enthusiastic and sure about the lyrics. Now he's hoping for a repeat or a hologram show.
You can see Fat bottomed girls live at Milton Keynes 1982. With any luck they will show that concert on IMAX someday.
Hopefully you did go (okay I did finally play the reaction and see that you did go, YAY!) I went twice and it was outstanding. I was so disappointed that there was no advertising so the theater was nearly empty both times I went which was once on the first week and once when they added the second week. It was like being at a live show except that I was seated. This is the closest thing you will ever see in your lifetime of a live Queen Concert with Freddie. Even the theater staff had no idea that the show was about the band or that it was an actual concert. I told a staff member as I was going in and he came into the theatre on his lunch hour to watch. I walked out with him after the movie was over and he was blown away. He said he was going to come back when he was not working so he could watch the whole movie. He had never seen anything like it, even though he has been to concerts before, they were nothing like a Queen Concert. What I really liked was that a lot of the time I could see the whole stage so I could watch all the band members like I would be doing at a live show. This concert was filmed with 35 mm film so it was very clear and perfect to be converted to the IMAX format. I could see every sweat bead and blemish on Freddie and the others. The audio was very loud in the theater I was in so I could sing along and not disturb anyone also the audio was so good that I could feel it vibrating through me just like if I was at a live show. I even got goosebumps several times. It was a fantastic experience and I am so glad that I follow Brian and Roger on social media or I never would have known it was showing. I was disappointed that there was not a banner in the theater so I could take a selfie next to it but a small price to pay for the thrill of seeing the movie. In 1981 I wouldn't have been able to take a selfie next to a banner either and probably would not have brought a camera to a concert because often they were prohibited.
I went to the IMAX Theater and saw this concert last month...it was AMAZING!!!

It was a blast and gorgeous! When you see the songs individually, you have no idea of the order...and then to see the whole concert and to realize the sustained energy required! Brian said in an interview that the pace was a bit faster because Freddie was irritated by the filming restrictions. Fat Bottom Girls has its critics on the content prompting removal here and on the latest greatest hits I believe. A good portion of crowd just had to let loose and participate...but some were just - mesmerized.
Saw it January 21, 2024 sunday both showings 6PM and 8:30 p.m. Combined over 30 people. I owned it in VHS and seen it on DVD and saw it on bluray in UA-cam.
I went twice...our theater was not packed in the suburbs of Chicago, which disappointed me. It was fantastic!!
I saw it, sadly the people in front of me were recording the whole thing on their phone so not only did that impede my view, I felt sad that they weren't really watching and being immersed in it. One thing I really loved was there was a lot more of John Deacon in it and in the remixed sound the bass line is amazing!

“Don’t Stop Me Now” was only performed live in 1979 tours. If you’ve seen one of those videos, it’s obvious that the fast pace made it difficult to include in an already high energy concert. Queen+ slows it down a bit.
I saw Rock Montreal Sunday! Like you, I wasn’t sure what to expect from the crowd. Everyone was quiet. I think we all just wanted to take It in with no distractions!
There’s a video of Brian & Roger watching the show (when it was first remastered several years ago) and commenting their remembered experiences throughout. It’s worth a watch, IMO.
Will definitely check it out, and yeah that makes perfect sense, Don’t Stop Me Now is an exceptionally hard song to sing, and live in one take would be crazy difficult with its fast pace and tough vocal phrasing so i see why they did it for one tour only and decided it was probably better leaving it out so Freddie wouldn’t expend himself too hard on one song - He did great when i saw him sing it at Hammersmith 1979!

Yep!! Bought our tickets immediately, attending the Friday IMAX showing January 19th. We had two special guests host our show .. Freddie’s bodyguard, who was also the Darth Vader character who carried Freddie on his shoulders, and a filmmaker who’s currently working on a documentary called PLAY THE GAME: Jock n Roll. It’s about former NFL players, quit after a terribly season, to become Queen’s bodyguards! Very cool. The bodyguard said that he too, was at Rock Montreal in 1981. Said that Queen were at their peak for sure!

Hi Trevor 👋 YES it came to our city. I had all good intentions to go, BUT Covid hit me! I ended up finding the entire concert on UA-cam and watched it on my Big Screen. The only bad thing was it had commercials after each song. You're right Roger puts everything into his drums. Was it in 3D? Thanks for sharing 👍 ❤😊
It wasn’t in 3D but the quality difference was staggering, i hear it’s coming back on the 26th so you got another chance to see it! I highly recommend going to see it, the sound and video quality is excellent, i would have turned it up even louder in the theatre if i could, but that’s probably just me haha ❤️

I bought tickets to it as soon as they were available, and saw it Thursday night! It was a GREAT night! The quality was impeccable! Nothing compared to the streaming version.I was a little bummed the theater audience wasn't singing along or anything. LOL But I spent the whole show tapping my feet, singing to myself, and dancing in my chair!
Same! I don’t think people knew whether or not to sing along or stay quiet out if respect for the rest of the audience, i had a few people in my crowd clap and sing along but it was mostly feet tapping and head bopping which i did plenty of! Glad you had a good time, i saw it Thursday and Saturday and it was amazing both times

It was great, i hear it’s getting re-released on the 26th of January with no expected end date as of now, hopefully they extend it to more countries and you can go see it! ❤️

3 of us went on Jan. 27. Unfortunately we were the only 3 there. Had a Fantastic time anyway. I don't think the extended dates were advertised the way they should have been. I only found out from a woman on one of my facebook groups.

oh, yes! I bought my Thursday and Sunday tickets back in November. After seeing it Thursday, I added a Saturday show too. It was so much fun. No one in the audience sang along but there was a lot of heads bobbing & such. Also, the sound was so good. The bass so clear I could get more of what made John Deacon's contribution so important. And yeah, Roger was killer on those drums, wasn't he? the wild child! His head thrown back, spitting up in the air on IMAX is totally different viewing. lol

I am glad that you got to go, and are going again! The concert is amazing We did not have a showing around here so hopefully they do put it out soon. All of those songs are from the Jazz tour and this one they were touring the album The Game. Yes they do have standards that they usually do but to many to choose from. Thanks for the reaction!
It was great! I hear they’re bringing it back to theatres due to popular demand so hopefully this time around they bring it to a theatre close to you, and thanks for clarifying that they were touring The Game and not Jazz, i should have known that as they were featuring songs such as Save Me and Play The Game. I heard they played Fat Bottomed Girls at the Milton Keynes Bowl in 1982 so might have to check that one out and do a reaction to it :)

I think the songs you mentioned were not in the concert as this concert was promoting The Game album, and the songs mentioned are from the Jazz album.
