Thank you for showing this! I have one coming from the Bike bondsman soon. It will be my first build. It is also a purple Mmmbop. I’m excited but concerned in not knowing all the tools i will need. Nice touch on the colors.
I’m working on a video of the specialty tools needed to build a bike. Mostly everything is inexpensive aside from the headset press, but there are other ways to press it in. Thanks for watching and the feedback.
My guy, that gold and purple is absolutely SICK!!! You got on hell of a creative eye... I just wish you could've gave a full over view upon your completion...
Thank you for the kind words, I have two other videos on this bike. ‘New Bike Day Ragley Mmmbop (dream build)’ which is an overview of the complete build (no talking) & ‘Dream Build Ragley Mmmbop first impressions, best budget hardtail ever?’ Which highlight my first impressions on this build. Thanks for watching 🙏
Very nice! Thoughts on mmbop vs marley frames 2022, trail bike 130-140mm up front wanna build an "all arounder" that will climb and handle a bike park w/ 27.5
The Mmmbop is a great hardcore hardtail. I was running 150mm of front travel rendering an effective head angle of 63.50. This made the bike feel great on descents & technical trails, but not much as a climbing goat (still a climber as it’s a hardtail). My BigAL is closely related to the Marley (think of it as the 29er counterpart) the BigAL is a great all rounder, I was running a 150mm Marzocchi slacking it a bit too much. Currently I’m running a Trust Message (130mm Linkage fork) now it’s an amazing all rounder, by far my favorite Hardtail. With a 130mm the Mmmbop’s slack HT angle will steepen a bit making the perfect trail machine, in other words a great all rounder. ‘Hardtailparty’ has a great comprehensive review on the Mmmbop, his trails are technical as heck. Check it out, that video convinced me to pull the trigger on the Mmmbop. Thanks for watching… I too have a video of my first impressions of this Mmmbop.
@@HamboMTB ty I appreciate it. I've seen htp's videos. Asked him a simple question and he wanted me to pay for his opinion. I just asked marley or mmbop if u had to choose and he sent me the link to pay for his opinion. 😆 he could have said one or the other just wonder what he liked better. Just talking. I don't like 29" wheels personally. The big al is on my list too with many others 😆
@@HamboMTB looking at the ragleys, chromag rootdown, nukeproof scout, dawley bikes possibly, I mean my list is big 😆 banshee paradox, Stanton, I like the voodoo bizango, rocky mountain growler, marin San Quinton, sold all my hardtails. @@johnsonjay60 nuke proof and Ragley’s are pretty much one in the same IMO…Chromags are delightful but always sold out (my size at least) I’m currently working on a couple new builds. RSD Sergeant (hardtail) going with a 140mm with 27.5 plus-size tires & working on a Devinci Troy 29er FS carbon frame (will be my halo build as the Mmmbop is gone; just sold it 3 weeks ago) Both are superboost, can’t wait to finish them up.
@@johnsonjay60 if you’re looking for a great frame also take a look at Ferrum, they make some awesome chromoly hardtails & FS frames. I’m getting my next Steel FS frame from them once I sell my BluePig…
No way! I'm currently Building my Mmmbop with purple - black - orange theme! This was practically showing how it will look :) im going with orange and purple hope parts for color.
Hope parts are very well crafted, orange is not too far off the gold I’m using. You will definitely enjoy your Mmmbop build! Happy riding, thanks for watching
First of all, thanks for watching. As far as getting everything together (parts) it took a bit over 8 months to source good parts at decent prices. Putting it together took no more than 6 hours over the course of two evenings (& overnighting the right brake adapters). This is my second full build & it’s a fun, relaxing & rewarding process.
Thank you I really appreciate the feedback, definitely enough room for the 2.8 (depending on brand) I even threw a 29x2.4 DHR in the rear and it cleared, sadly my fork doesn’t work for 29ers. Thanks for watching…
@@HamboMTB thanks man! How do you find the mmmbop compared to scout? I mostly do downhill flowy trails, a little bit of small jumps and drops. I wonder if I made the right choice of getting the mmmbop over the scout 🤔
I believe the Mmmbop was the right choice, it’s a bit slacker then the Scout (overall better looking too 😎). It’s at home pointing downhill, loves flow (not much for techy) I firmly believe you won’t regret your decision, I really think that Ragley is a bit underrated, but they been around for a while & definitely know what they are doing. Thanks for watching
Rear tire is Teravail Cumberland 27.5x2.8 with the light & supple casing. Front tire is Teravail Kennebec 27.5x2.8 light & supple casing, both are tubeless set.
Great bike! I built one too but in grey, really enjoying it with a 170mm fork!

Beautiful build of a great looking bike

dude that is so sick all it needs is some olins and it will be the best hardtail ever
I only wish, I been looking at them for a while. Might use on my next build. 2022 build for sure, for now still enjoying my hardtails.

What frame size is it?
It’s size Large, fits perfectly (I’m 6’1 on a good day 😂)
