Well when I can't get to sleep, I work on assignments for my online IT class and also start chipping away at the vids in my YoutTube que. This was fun to watch! Glad that your stomach held up OK. Consuming Taco Bell (Taco Hell lol) can be a challenge even with no exercise of any kind haha. I'm super interested in sports nutrition and am trying to find decent online classes that may be free for seniors like me :) Thanks for another awesome vlog!
I was planning to do the Taco Bell 50k as well but couldn't make it. Taco Bell and running are right up my alley! Awesome time and thank you for sharing your experience with us. Congrats on your 1st place finish.
"You can't put a price on epicness", and no clue how you held it together, but surely there is a limit to how much pinto bean epicness the human stomach can handle?
Dang, nice job Sage! Just thinking about how I struggle with eating right after a marathon I almost feel a little sick imagining getting all that food down during a race.
Yo quiro Taco Bell. Cant believe there were that many willing partipants. Did they allow adult diapers just in case? I like how they used the old chihuahua mascot on the bibs. Taco Bell needs to bring it back. I was waiting for this!
I weigh 228 pounds on a good day. My races are always with between 35 and 100 pounds of firefighting gear. I burn through about 140-170 calories per km. This taco bell thing seems like a cake walk for me hahaha. After 10km i'm usually stuffing over 100cal per km in my face. I gotta try this challenge ahahaha
Loved the TB 50k content! Question though, if it was a race, and you were treating as a training run, and you touted about the course record, why did you not mark it as a race on Strava? Your time shows much faster than you actually ran it then...
I never use the "race mark" on Strava (even for real races).....people can clearly see the total elapsed time for all my runs/events (training or racing). Usually I don't have so much stopping time though!
Hey Sage with your pulmonary issues wonder if anyone/ yourself has any experience of angina? Going for tests on shortly but appreciate any real life experiences.
"Is this a Boston Qualifier" 🤔🤣🤣🤣
So funny seeing those wrappers at the end. Like pages for a lap at Barkley.
they actually started taking up a lot of space in my CamelBak belt!
Congrats, Sage. I'm feeling slightly sick just watching this.
I think that was a good idea to train your stomach while having a fun time. Maybe a Taco Bell sponsorship is in your future?
I love humans. This idea of Taco Bell 50k is insane and beautiful 😂🤣
haha this is awesome! I love how much fun the running community can have.

So funny you posted this video. A conversation about you at Taco Bell 50k came up at an aid station during the Sage Burner 50k this past weekend.

Thanks Sage, well done, you are a true plant based beast
Any surface, any distance, any sustenance.
Serious cycling?!
Wow! 50k followed by 50k the next day, amazing to see what elite runners can do!
Well done! Congrats on your first place. Ha ha, that is a weird race (:

It looks like you have a fun time
Taco Bell champ! 🔔
Looks like the Iron stomach is coming along nicely!
Great stuff Sage...how to suffer for your art...
This is good television!

Don't forget, Sage is a beast
Interesting race! How do they make sure you eat the meals? Do you have to finish them in the Taco Bell in front of a race official?
As a runner with severe IBS this terrifies me

"An ultra is basically an eating contest with a lot of running".
I just understood why I am more comfortable the longer the distance 😂
Really have to fast before that race, which is the opposite of the normal strategy.
I mean, "fast food." Must make you fast, right? Checks out 👌👌👌Yo quiero 🌮🔔
FYI, the Taco Bell beverage dispensers have G2 so you can count the fruit punch Gatorade as an item next time.
I yakked after a regular 50k eating a small bag of chips this weekend. I'd be so sick.

My stomach hurts just reading the title
More effective than Ex-lax?

Have you tried salt tabs? 💊 You can save your stomach from having to take in your sodium with a large amount of fluid. Then you won’t feel as full.
What if winner gets a gift certificate to Taco Bell.......☠🤢. LOL. Congrats I guess on the win.
I would just eat lots of ice cream and other desserts. Allot easier on the stomach.
Just say ‘no’ to vegan cheese. I am holding out hope for precision fermentation…
this result should be on UltraSignUp. I'm just kidding
